The Neighborhood:
Vibe:
Marathon Village, a unique neighborhood of sorts that has become quite a Nashville hotspot, is made up of a group of 100-year-old warehouse buildings which was originally where the Marathon, a car made in the early 1900s, was built. Fast forward to today, and it has become a complex for artists’, photographers’, and designers’ studios.

Eat:
Some of Nashville's best whiskey and spirit makers call Marathon Village home. In between your tasting tours, do stop by The Bang Candy Company for one of their amazing marshmallows. You can thank us later!

Play:
Serving as a model of adaptive reuse of historic structures, Marathon Village is one of Nashville's most creative communities -- with more than 45 tenants representing fine, commercial, and performing arts. The building used to house the Marathon Factory back in 1910, which produced the Marathon Automobile. Guests are welcome to browse the facilities to see some of the old remains of this historic building in Music City.

Nearby Areas Include:

• Marathon Village -- walking distance! Nashville Pickers, distillery, coffee, shopping, lots of history!)
• Midtown (college bars, Vandy kids, good food)
• Germantown (great food, very safe area, former warehouse district)
• The Gulch (good eats and shopping)
• Lower Broadway ("The Strip", Honkey Tonks, The Ryman, museums, etc.)
• Hillsboro Village (no chains, everything in this area is locally owned)
• 5 Points (Think Nashville's version of Williamsburg or Silverlake)
• 12 South (good eats and shopping)

If you don’t have a car, most Lyft/Uber rides are a couple of miles from everything downtown. Here are some codes :)

Other Things to Note:
| Other Things to Note Before Booking |

| Same-Day Bookings | We work hard to make our homes available for same day booking for those guests in need. With that said, we require a 2-hour processing time from the point that your pre-arrival form is completed, to process and approve it, and provide access details. We ask that guests that are booking the same day refrain from arriving before completing the pre-arrival form and confirmation that their reservation has been approved for check-in.

| Locals | Due to restrictions placed on us by our landlord and as a condition pertaining to our ability to host, we are unable to accept reservations from guests local to the area (within 60 miles of the listing's city). By booking, you hereby accept and agree to this condition and that you'll be required to show proof of residency. Any reservation which does not comply with this restriction will be subject to cancellation. Please contact us if you're booking within your city.

| Representative Photos | We have multiple Abode’s at this property. Each one is designed to provide our guests a beautiful, clean, and comfortable place to stay. The photos will give you a sense of this building’s style. While your Abode may vary slightly, it will be just as well designed.

| Long Stay Cleaning Fees |
Abode reserves the right to charge an additional cleaning fee when a stay exceeds 30 days. For each 30 days increment, an additional cleaning fee will be added to the stay.

| ID Verification + Credit Card Verification |
All guests are required to sign a separate rental agreement, and digitally provide ID prior to receiving access details. This information may be used for a basic public records search. Please see the "House Rules" section for complete details.

Additional credit card verification is required for bookings where the OTA does not handle guest payments directly. This specifically includes sending a photo of the card used for the booking and confirming a test charge before check-in can be approved. The name on the card must match the name on the reservation.

| Potential for Noise | You’ll be in an urban setting next to train tracks in addition to being in a residential apartment, which may be prone to noise from neighbors. We've included a pair of ear plugs and a white noise machine in case you need a little help getting a good night's sleep.

| Limited On-Site Parking | There is limited on-site parking. However, there is ample street parking available. Reminder to please lock your car and remove valuables - we are not responsible for theft or damage to your vehicle or its contents.

Quick overnight stay

Nice unit and as pictured. Could benefit from a new couch. It's an $8 Uber ride to Broadway. Abode staff was very courteous and helpful.

Location in an unsafe area

Pictures of property are very accurate, the two bedroom condo is very cute inside, not very clean. When the Uber was taking us to property she informed us we were staying in the “projects” of Nashville and that the area is not safe. After speaking to resident of the property, she said people come to the area for one thing and to stay away from them, and if we hear gun shots it’s common. There is gate codes and locks but one Uber told us to put the couch in front of the door due to people breaking into other rentals in the area. Coming back to the property in the evenings was very stressful, due to the fact that everyone across the street hangs out and is up to no good. I would not recommend families to stay in this area. I messaged the Vrbo about this property and asked if we could walk to downtown and they should have informed us that we shouldn’t walk anywhere in this neighborhood. I reached out to the manager and it would only go to voicemail. If staying here, stay at your own risk, and be very cautious of your surroundings.

Unsafe, not as advertised

Upon arrival parking is difficult to get into gate, then have to walk around all buildings to get to your apartment. Smelled terrible in stairwell and was dirty. Could hear people in apartment below talking or walking around. Was not as pictured much more run down and beat up than photos look. Alps lighting is not that good. Microwave was broken, no windows opened which was fire hazard. Bathroom has leaks, been painted on tile and scraped up. Not enough toilet paper provided and was brown mark on door that looked like dried blood. The towel holder by sink for hand towel was loose. Everything in general just seemed off. Would not recommend especially for women traveling alone. Not a safe part of town. Move onto the next option...

Adequate space & good proximity to city, but not clean or inviting

This unit is part of an apt complex located in an industrial park area next to a train track. The streets surrounding the unit were not clean (abandoned mattress and vacuum cleaner on the sidewalk). The listing advertised that the complex was gated; however, the gate was broken and anyone could enter. The parking was extremely tight and not easily accessed. We were approached by a resident of the complex asking that we not park in the parking lot. The common area of the building has a musty odor. The unit itself was not clean. The rug was extremely filthy, couch had noticeable stains, the painted shower tiles were peeling, the wall space next to the vents were covered with thick dust (the dust was so thick, it appeared to be mold), found mold growing in the coffee pot, the furnace is extremely loud. We had 2 people in the unit. The beds were comfortable. The space would be adequate for 4. The unit has great proximity to Nashville, but the location itself is not desirable or inviting. I tried to contact the manager at least 3-4 times via phone, but was never able to speak to anyone directly. All contact was via email or text only.
