About this property
Shepton House - Spacious Sandstone Heritage Home
Shepton House is a historic, character filled sandstone home which has been lovingly restored. It is in the heart of Katoomba and within walking distance (approx. 10-15 mins) of the major Blue Mountains tourist attractions, including Scenic World, Katoomba Falls, Echo Point/Three Sisters Lookout and walking trails. It is also close to shops, restaurants, bars, coffee spots, bakeries, cafes and art galleries.
Shepton House is perfect for families and groups of friends. It is full of character and charm, including sandstone walls in the casual living area and downstairs bedroom, original stained glass windows and kauri pine floors. The furniture is a timeless mix of vintage and new.
Shepton House includes:
- four bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Doubles) with luxurious bedding and electric blankets. The Queen bedroom is located downstairs (all other bedrooms are upstairs) and has french doors opening to the back garden.
- fully equipped eat-in kitchen (including fridge, oven, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine with starter premium coffee pods). There is also a cozy wood burning fire.
- two bathrooms (the upstairs main has underfloor heating and bath). Heated towel rails in both bathrooms.
- two generous, art-filled lounge rooms (the formal lounge includes a marble fireplace with Jetmaster fire); 55" Samsung Serif Smart TV with Netflix, Stan and free-to-air streaming.
- In addition to the eat-in kitchen there is a formal dining room.
- Generous rear garden with fire pit and outdoor dining.
- Internal laundry with sink and washer/dryer combo.
- Free street parking available.
- Linen, towels, essential high-quality toiletries (hand/body wash, shampoo and conditioner), kitchen basics (including a starter pack of coffee capsules) and firewood (to get you started in the winter months) supplied.
- A selection of books, board games and puzzles can be found in the bookcase in the formal dining room.
Getting Around:
In addition to being within easy, walking distance of many of the Blue Mountains most popular tourist attractions, Shepton House is also conveniently located near a Blue Mountains Hop On Hop Off Explorer bus stop (stop 15).
It is a quick 3 minute car drive to the train station and Katoomba high street.
Shepton House is the perfect base for your Blue Mountains adventure.
About Shepton House:
Shepton House was built in 1904 by Percival and Edith Hammon, whose son, Harry went on to create the iconic Scenic World, one of the Blue Mountains major tourist attractions (and a walk away from Shepton House). It was named 'Shepton' after Edith's birthplace in England. We look forward to sharing this special home with you!
