Beautiful new home on Pikes Lake. This is a perfect quiet getaway, abundant with wildlife and a park like setting. This is not a swimming lake but is worth the view. 3 full bath, 3 bedrooms that can accommodate 10 comfortably. We are in a quiet setting on 10 wooded acres, 3 miles from the sweet little village of Lake Ann. Perfectly located between Traverse City and Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore. Spend a day exploring the Lake Michigan beaches, canoeing/tubing the rivers, hiking/biking nearby trails, the charming local villages, golf courses, horse back riding, and take the kids to the Cherry Bowl Drive Inn Theater in Honor. Reserve the Magic Shuttle Bus just around the corner to pick you up at the door to take you to the many wineries and breweries. We're a winter wonderland too! Bring your skis, snowshoes, and snowmobiles. We are within minutes to all of the trails and ski hills. Come back to the house to relax on the awesome 52 ft. porch! Relax under the large pavilion. Build a fire and grill out. Just enjoy! Also, check out our other vacation rental located on the same property. The Evergreen Cottage, vrbo # 1119066. Sleeps 10. It was great. It could only be better if we had SNOW . The Kerr Clan of 7 family members from down state, travel every other year to Traverse to celebrate Christmas with our daughter and family. We all appreciate you allowing us to stay at your beautiful home. Our grandsons want to come back this summer Thank you,The Kerr Clan there.
This was a clean and cozy home to spend our girls weekend in. The setting and the home were stunning. Our group of friends had the best time and the home was perfect. All amenities are as described and provided even more. The property was beautiful during this fall season and we were able to enjoy seeing the wildlife. This is a house is not to be missed and we already plan on returning.
Very relaxing. The property and the house are fantastic. It's a very serene place to be. Everyone in the group really enjoyed the property! Hopefully we'll book this place again in the future.
Hemlock Cottage was absolutely perfect for our getaway with friends! The property had so much space inside, and it was well-equilled with everything we could ever need. The back porch was a wonderful place to sip coffee/tea while taking in the views. It was just about 20 minutes into the heart of downtown TC. We would definitely stay her again!
The home was very clean and comfortable. There are lots of spaces to gather together making it a great spot for an extended family vacation. The location is great with a lot to explore within a thirty minute drive. We really enjoyed our stay!
My family (8 of us) stayed here for a week & everything was great. The house was clean & there was plenty of room for all of us. Not only space to gather together, but space to separate as well.
There are lots of amenities and plenty of provided appliances & kitchenware to be able to cook meals all week, including gas & charcoal grills on the porch.
The place is very private with a view of some woods & a pond. There is a big back porch with lots of chairs plus a large hammock in the trees in the back to chill in & enjoy the beautiful & peaceful scenery from, which was our favorite part. The nearby pond is inaccessible & not swimmable or fishable but does bring in lots of wildlife to watch. We saw & heard a pair of eagles flying around & perching in the trees near the pond all week. Lots of other birds & wildlife too including a couple deer who visited early in the morning. There's even a set of binoculars to help take in the wild life.
There is a large covered pavillion in the back as well with tables & chairs and a fire pit for outdoor entertaining. Plenty of fallen trees and tree branches to collect to build a fire. There is also enough open green space in back to play outdoor games. There's even a storage chest with some yard games, balls, & a volleyball net. The basement has a foosball table & is stocked with lots of board games & books.
All in all we enjoyed every bit of the house and property & would definitely rent here again.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house had everything you need. Close enough to visit Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Would highly recommend to anyone.
We were in town for a softball tournament and this beat a hotel by far. So much room, great location. Have the “up north” feel. We enjoyed it and would highly recommend.
Such a cozy location with a beautiful view! A perfect place for a girls weekend to have a cozy fire and coffee on the porch in the morning. Theresa was very helpful with accommodations and easy to reach out to if needed. Would highly recommend!
We had an amazing time here! It was close (20 minutes) to Traverse City, the sand dunes, and anywhere else we wanted to go. The plaxe was beyond clean - probably the cleanest place we've ever stayed at. Great spot, will stay again!
We stayed at Hemlock Cottage for our annual family vacation. It suited our family perfectly. The different living spaces were great. It was a peaceful location in the woods and not too far from anything we wanted to do.
Plenty of room for our family of 7 - everyone could have their own space when they wanted, a big deal with older kids.
And that pond out back was a winner for peaceful morning vibes with a cup of coffee and for the younger ones to muck about around during the day.
The owners are super friendly and genuine, making sure we were sorted and comfortable.
There’s a fire pit that we took advantage of a few nights, a real treat to sit around with the stars up above.
The internet is a bit slow and phone service is touch and go, but it was nice to kind of force a bit of a digital detox on the teens and ourselves.
We’re booking it for next summer too.
We enjoyed exploring Up North and this property was part of that pleasure. We used this location as a central spot to see everything from Petoskey to Frankfort. The setting is quiet and peaceful with beautiful views.
The pictures in listing are accurate, however they don’t impart the feeling of home and comfort that we felt walking inside. It has areas to gather or separate as need be. There is no dishwasher, but some of us washed up while others built a bonfire (plenty of wood to be found onsite). The unit is well stocked (except for tissues), clean. Owners were easy to communicate with.
We’d be happy to stay again.
This secluded property gave us a great place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our family. The property was great and provided a convenient starting point for our visit to the various "up north" sites. Good visit.
The Hemlock Cottage was the perfect spot for our family of 9 to stay. We were about 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City, 20 minutes from the sand dunes and Glen Arbor. The house was stocked with the essentials needed and more. It was clean and new. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the downstairs game room and lounge area. The outdoor area is perfectly equipped with a few yard games and fire pit. The house is quiet and secluded. It would be a great place for a longer-term stay as well. We wished we could have stayed longer.
Definitely would stay here again!
We had 5 adults, our 6th friend joined us one night and had plenty of room for cooking, dining, and sleeping all under one roof. The backyard view is ANAZING! Each one of us said “we can’t wait to have our coffee here in the AM”. So peaceful with beautiful wildlife. Close to nearby towns and beaches but tucked away for the perfect quiet retreat. Also, very quick responses form the host for anything. Thank you!
