About this property

ReWild- an intentional & genuine cabin experience in the N GA Mtns. Dog friendly

Nestled among the trees and surrounded by mountains our cozy retreat is a unique space with all the charm of an old family cottage.
• ReWild sits in 10 acres of private property
• woodburning stove & firewood provided
• 1 bedroom with king bed and memory foam mattress (and heated mattress pad during the winter months).
• 1 bedroom with 2 twin “bedstees” (one converts to a king bed)
• fully stocked kitchen
• propane grill
• WiFi
• TV in living room & bedroom
• tiled bathroom w/ walk in shower

We built this space to share with our family, friends, and any others who love the simplicity of spending time in nature. Our goal was to create a welcoming, cozy space using all locally sourced lumber, salvaged materials, antique furniture, thrifted finds, and repurposed items. It's truly unique and every part of our design has been intentional. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! It's been a 2 year labor of love and now we are ready to share it!
We have a rooster that you may hear in the wee hours of the morning and we also have a fowl alarm system (2 extremely loud geese who alert us of people, predators, and random vehicles). But you won’t hear any car alarms, city traffic, or all night parties!
ReWild sits on our 10 acre property which borders Cooper's Creek Wildlife Management area, 30,000 acres within the Chattahoochee National Forest.
We have old logging roads and trails that lead directly into the NF where you can explore for hours without seeing another human. We are located within hiking distance of the Toccoa River which is great for fishing, tubing, kayaking and my favorite, paddle boarding.
ReWild is surrounded by many well-know trails including the Appalachian trail, Benton McKaye, and Duncan Ridge as well as many unnamed, hidden gems. Our little community of Suches is quiet and quaint. We are about a 30 min drive from Blue Ridge and Blairsville and about 45 minutes to Dahlonega. If outdoor activites or just relaxing in cottage in the woods is your goal, ReWild is just the place. If you're looking for restaurants, shopping and city life just around the corner, ReWild is not your goal.

Guest access
We are located on a private road that dead ends into the National Forest. Our road is gravel and a bit steep at the beginning. We recommend 4WD if you have it.
ReWild is located above our garage space. A set of stairs on the exterior allows access to the 2 bedroom living space with a full living area and enormous kitchen as well as a full bathroom. The actual garage is not included in the rental. We do use this garage and you may hear/ see a vehicle come and go from that area.
Our personal home is located just up the hill on the same property. We will respect your privacy and will not be “popping by”. But if you need anything just let us know!

Other things to note
ReWild does not have central air conditioning but we have installed window units in all rooms. In the summer, since we sit in the highest elevation valley in the state it doesn’t get nearly as hot. We throw open the windows and doors to enjoy the mountain air. It cools down nicely at night and you can hear the crickets, frogs, and other local wildlife. We have ceiling fans in all the rooms as well. With that being said, from time to time a bug or 2 may make their way past the screens. It’s ok, they are just a reminder of forest living.

Our cabin is also located on the neighboring lot. We live here full-time along with our 3 dogs, 12 chickens, 1 rooster, and 2 geese. Our cabin is located about 100 yards up the hill and is accessed by a separate driveway. If you are in need of any specialty kitchen appliances, utensils, or ingredients while you’re here just let us know, we probably have them!

We bought our home here in Suches a little over 10 years ago. Back in 2020 we decided we wanted to build a garage on our neighboring lot and have a living space above it for our family and friends. The build took us approximately 3 years. We designed the building hired a contractor to frame it out and dry it in. From there we took over and completed the build. Our goal was to use locally sourced lumber, surplus building materials, as well as antique furniture and repurposed items to create a truly unique space. We built it for our family and friends but quickly decided this space was too special to keep just to ourselves. We decided to offer it as a rental to others who enjoy spending time in this beautiful area and enjoy a cozy cabin in the woods!

Why they chose this property

Suches is not only a beautiful area that remains minimally developed and is filled with an amazing array of flora and fauna. The people who call this area home are some of the best around. These mountains and forests provide so many opportunities for adventure or relaxation. Within a 20 minute drive of ReWild we have at least 15 waterfalls, the Toccoa River, Coopers Creek, Living Water Winery, the Appalachian Trail, the Benton MacKaye Trail, and the Duncan Ridge Trail.

What makes this property unique

Our home was built by us and every item in it was intentionally chosen to create a truly unique and memorable space. From the 100 year old high back kitchen sink, to the locally milled tongue and groove white pine floors, to the custom built-in beds, we've poured hearts, sweat and love into it creating something we are truly proud of. We absolutely love hosting and meeting our guests who choose our home to spend their weekends or vacations at ReWild to celebrate birthdays or an anniversary or even elope for a wedding. We are beyond grateful for each and every guest who books with us. We know there are lots of options out there and we don't take someone selecting ReWild lightly, we want their stay to be memorable and a place they want to return to time and time again.
