THE FARM
• Our farm is home to many furry friends. We have nine alpacas, four chickens, and our Highland Blacknose Swiss sheep Shawn and Timmy, known as “the cutest sheep in the world.”
• Four horse paddocks, stables, and an equestrian arena for horse lovers.
• End your days with a glass of local Tasmanian wine by the firepit, soaking in the magic of the Coal River Valley’s sunsets. You may even catch the incredible Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) which is often visible in our clear country night skies.
LOCATION
Historic Richmond is just 25 minutes from Hobart’s CBD and 10 minutes from the international airport. Our property is located very close to the centre of town, where you can explore antique shops, enjoy tea and scones, or visit Australia’s iconic oldest bridge.
THINGS TO KNOW
• Our home is designed to stay warm in winter. While there is no underfloor heating, the polished concrete retains heat from the large double glazed doors and cathedral windows. The two heat pump systems and wood fire also keeps the house toasty.
• Stay cool in summer with the air conditioning units and huge sliding stacker doors down both sides of the main living wing. Note - southern Tassie can get windy.
• With such stunning views and no neighbours, the main living area and master bedroom wing are free of curtains. If you prefer to wake in darkness, consider bringing an eye mask. Blinds or curtains in all other bedrooms.
• As the Coal River Valley is just outside Hobart's main suburban area, Richmond is best explored with a private car.
