Quiet Location Close to City and Country
We stayed here for about a month and it served as a great home base to discover London and nearby areas. It was important to us to have a home within walking distance to food, groceries, and a direct train to the City. It was also in a nice quiet area with lots of trees and nature nearby. The main area of Chislehurst was about a 15-minute walk and it had a really quaint High Street with a variety of food options. Bromley is a short bus ride away and had shopping and another train station.\The closest grocery store is called Costcutter. It's a bit more expensive than others, but it had everything we needed. It was also conveniently located (a one-minute walk!), and we sometimes went there several times a day. I also enjoyed the fish and chips shop and corner coffee shop. The Costcutter has a Post Office inside, so if you purchase something online it can be sent directly there. The house itself was perfect for our family size. Everything has been updated and was easy to use. While we were there we got hit by three heatwaves. Our host was kind enough to provide some pedestal fans, and we were able to manage the heat very well. I think the home's location at the north end of a row and the many shade trees nearby helped keep everything cool. The host was very responsive and helpful with tips on things to see nearby. All in all it was a great trip and I would recommend staying here, especially for slightly longer trips where you don't want/need to be directly in the City.
