About this property

Bygone era Lake Buel cottage with access to shared dock and canoe

Re-introducing a wonderful cottage built in the early 1900’s, one of the first privately owned constructions near the lake that still exists today. This home has been updated to include modern day comforts while staying true to its original charm. Take your own private path down to the water to use the canoe and gather around the patio fire pit to roast s’mores! We welcome you and your loved ones to share this fun space. And to celebrate its revival, book 6 nights, stay the 7th night free!!

If you are traveling with more than 6 people and could use additional accommodations, we’re offering travelers a unique opportunity to book this cottage and our other smaller cottage that is right next door. (If you threw a rock you’d hit it!) Please view its listing, (property ID #1122645) to see if both rentals are available for your dates. We very much hope to host you and your entire group!

Very nice to meet you! We are New Englanders born and raised and love the outdoors, history, and spending time with friends and family. We love this lake and the community that thrives here and hope you will enjoy it too!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the idea of visitors vacationing here for generations and want to continue the tradition by sharing it with all who seek a lake getaway.

What makes this property unique

This cottage is truly unique, like so many other historic homes on Lake Buel, and meticulously renovated with the desire to keep it true to its originality. The wood paneling, posts and trim was sourced and milled using timbers from the property, and the trees were existing during the civil war! You’ll find some window panes that still have wavy glass.
