About this property
Murrup House, Stockmans Rise, Mansfield
Located a short walk from the vibrant regional town of Mansfield, Murrup House is your perfect base camp at the foothills of the Victorian Alps. Whether your passion is active sports, exploring the region’s diverse landscapes or in the simpler pursuit of a relaxing down time, this is your perfect home-from-home to recharge and rejuvenate.
Visit local wineries, walk into town to sample the local cafes, ride the rail trail, or just spend time with friends in this beautiful home.
Built by Ground Up Earth Builders the house features locally sourced rammed earth construction and burnished concrete floors throughout. This is combined with bespoke furnishings and fittings as well as recycled hardwoods.
Recently built, this is a finely crafted home that has been built to last generations.
Reclaimed timbers sourced from Princess Pier in Melbourne are used in the front entry, complemented by Cypress pine from local mills, used for the rafters and decking.
The house sits within a verdant landscape designed by landscape designer
Cally Sinclair and executed by renowned local landscaper Jessie Durkin. Along the Eastern edge of the property lies a 44sqm heated pool surrounded by a bespoke timber deck and sculptural timber and copper fence.
The main living and kitchen area features a polished concrete preparation bench, cathedral ceiling, exposed ceiling beams, a large bespoke wood fireplace and a daybed by the window, to curl up with your favourite book.
There is also a generous walk-in larder and a fully equipped kitchen featuring high-quality appliances, making this a perfect place for entertaining.
Sliding doors lead out to the covered deck, breakfast table, BBQ and outdoor wood fired burner.
The living area connects to a large open lounge/entertainment area, featuring black form ply walls framed with Mountain ash trims. This is a great space for board games with the family or relax and watch a movie.
These combined living and lounge areas form the heart of the home. From here two wings lead off to the north and to the south.
To the north is the master bedroom (Queen double bed) , flanked by a generous office space and
luxuriously appointed ensuite.
To the south lies a long corridor providing storage spaces and two generous
daybeds. Sliding doors off this corridor reveal bedrooms 2 and 3, each featuring Queen double beds, hanging spaces and secluded garden views to the west. At the end of the corridor lies a spacious fourth bedroom, with bunk beds (King singles x 2), another daybed by the window, and views to the central garden and pool. Also off this corridor is a large bathroom, separate toilet and a fully equipped laundry. All in all, this is a home built with love and care by local crafts people, designed for maximum comfort and effortless down-time.
Guest access Mansfield Central is a 15-minute walk or a 2-minute drive, for a morning coffee and fresh croissants.
The Mansfield end of the Rail Trail is at the rear of the property. Hire bikes or bring your own and ride to Paps, Bonnie Doon, Lake Eildon, or venture further afield.
Mount Buller is 45 min drive to the top and 2.5 hours to Melbourne.
