About this property
Bright City Base - 1Bed, Kitchen, Outdoor Space
Summary:
Enjoy the best of Christchurch from this bright and stylish 1-bedroom townhouse in the heart of the city. With a full kitchen, private backyard, and cozy living space, it’s the perfect base for couples or solo travelers seeking comfort and convenience.
The Space:
Welcome to your stylish city getaway—a thoughtfully designed two-storey townhouse that offers the perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and modern living.
On the ground floor, you'll find a cozy living area with a comfortable sofa and a Smart TV, ideal for streaming your favorite shows or enjoying a relaxed evening in. The open-plan layout leads into a fully equipped kitchen, complete with a fridge, oven, stovetop, microwave, kettle, toaster, and all the cookware and utensils you’ll need—whether you're preparing a quick breakfast or a full dinner.
Step outside into your private, fully fenced backyard—a rare city-center feature. This quiet outdoor space includes seating for four, making it the perfect spot for morning coffee, a glass of wine at sunset, or just some fresh air and privacy.
Head upstairs to discover a bright and serene bedroom with a queen-size bed, soft linens, and plenty of natural light. It’s designed to ensure a restful night’s sleep after a day of sightseeing, business meetings, or weekend market hopping.
Whether you're in Christchurch for work, adventure, or a relaxing break, this space offers all the comforts of home—right in the heart of the action.
Guest Access:
During your stay, you'll have exclusive access to all the amenities and spaces within the property.
The Neighborhood:
Staying in Christchurch Central, you really get the best of both worlds—everything is just a short walk or bike ride away, but it still feels relaxed and easygoing.
You're right on Manchester Street, which makes getting around super simple. In the mornings, I love grabbing coffee from one of the local favorites like Child Sister or Unknown Chapter—both just a few minutes' walk from the front door. If you're into fresh produce or unique eats, Riverside Market is a must-visit. It's a buzzing spot where locals grab lunch, browse boutique stores, or meet up with friends over drinks.
The Avon River winds through the area and is perfect for a stroll or even punting if you're feeling touristy (locals still do it!). And if you're into art and culture, you’re spoiled—Christchurch Art Gallery, street murals, and pop-up exhibitions are all part of the local vibe here.
There’s always something happening nearby—night markets, festivals, live music, and great eats on New Regent Street. But despite being in the thick of it, the street where this townhouse sits is surprisingly peaceful. It’s that kind of hidden-gem location locals love—close to the action, but tucked away just enough to feel like home.
Getting Around:
One of the best things about staying here is how easy it is to get around—no car needed if you're planning to explore central Christchurch!
- On Foot: Most of the city’s top attractions—Riverside Market, New Regent Street, Cathedral Square, and the Botanic Gardens—are all within a 10–15 minute walk. It’s a flat, walkable area with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops along the way.
- By Bike or Scooter: Christchurch is a super bike-friendly city. You’ll often see locals riding electric scooters or bikes around town. You can easily rent one using apps like Beam or Lime, and there are plenty of places to park them near the townhouse.
- Public Transport: Bus stops are just a few minutes’ walk away, and buses are frequent and reliable. The Bus Interchange (main terminal) is also nearby if you're heading further across the city or to the suburbs.
- Driving & Parking: If you’re renting a car or driving, street parking is available (some paid, some free depending on time/day). Being right in the city means you can access main roads and highways quickly for day trips to places like Lyttelton, Akaroa, or the Port Hills.
Interaction with Guests:
While I won't be available in person, I'm committed to ensuring that your stay is as smooth and
as enjoyable as possible. You can reach out to me through Airbnb chat from 6AM - 12MN, Mondays through Sundays.
