Rented with Bill to be close to my Aunt so I could throw her a BBQ birthday party. He brought over the grill, cookware and blender so we could have a great event. My Aunt loved it and had the best time on the porch eating and chatting with everyone. Thanks Bill! ....fyi, your neighbors were following us to make sure we didn't walk on their beach area. Not your problem but thought you should know.
My boyfriend, two daughters and I had a great weekend in Bill’s place. It definitely has that rustic Adirondack feel. There are updates that need to be done like the shower (low water pressure and needs a new shower insert and more sturdy knobs etc ) and get a working pellet stove up and running. It would be nice to have that stove for the cool fall nights and winter stays. Overall it was a good stay. Bill was very accommodating and helpful if we needed something. He’s just two houses away. Very welcoming to our two dogs and a great location for them to run down to the beach by the river to play. The little town of Northville is very cute and close by. Short drives to mountain trails etc. We had a great time. Hopefully be back to stay again another time.

Nice cabin with some issues
Had a two night stay. It was just as pictured, and it does have access to a firepit by the lake. Bill was nice, but we did have a few issues with our stay which were very frustrating. First major problem was the cabin was approximately 50 degrees when we first showed up it and took 24 hours to warm up with a small electric heater because the furnace had not been started for the season. This seriously impacted our trip and it was incredibly frustrating to pay that much money for what was effectively an unheated cabin for the night. The next issue was the lack of internet, which did not work all weekend. Not sure why the internet was down, but cell service was spotty at best so planning hikes or other activities was very difficult. The kitchen cabinets seemed to be falling apart in places, and we could not find a smoke detector at all. If the place was heated the first night we probably would have overlooked the other issues and would have enjoyed our stay more.
Very comfortable and charming cabin, located close to Northville - well-appointed with everything we needed. Host was helpful and very responsive and we had a great time. We plan to return!
We loved meeting our host and visiting his studio. The ice cream and pizza from the neighbor's restaurant were awesome. The view of the lake and nearby hiking to Hope Falls were so worth it. The drive north along a scenic byway is not to be missed. We relaxed and had a great time. It was a warmer than normal week and screened windows would've helped, but the breeze on the porch was great.
We were looking to escape the heat and humidity of summer in Richmond, Va. and boy did we find it! We were a little concerned that the cabin did not have A/C, but we didn't need. The weather was fantastic. We loved the cabin and the road that dead ended at the lake was perfect for walking our dogs. Bill was a fantastic host who offered us several suggestions of things to do during our visit. we would definitely consider going back.
Me, my husband, 14 year old twins and two dogs wanted to get away from the craziness of life for a few days and this was just what we needed. Bill is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. His property is beautiful. The whole area is perfect!
Bill was there to greet us at the property at the time of check in. We loved the antique interior of the house. Bill was a delightful host and would love to visit the cabin again.
This cabin was prefect and captured the "Vibe" of the Adirondacks. Bill was a great host. The cabin was rustic but comfortable and quirky. It was fully equipped and met our needs. We had to come here under difficult circumstances (funeral) but this comfortable and homey cabin did much to soothe our souls.
My partner, our 2 year old, dog and myself had a great stay at Bills cabin. It was so nice and relaxing, full kitchen with everything you’d need. You can see the lake from the big window in the living area. Bill was so accommodating and helped out when needed, always available. We are already planning a summer trip up north. Awesome find!
Hopefully the fact we came back says it all! And we'll be back again. Location is awesome, cabin is unique and charming and Bill is an attentive host and nice guy. I almost don't want to be honest because it is getting too hard to book the property!
The cabin is absolutely beautiful and wonderfully decorated. Windows let in plenty of light and the atmosphere is great. It’s a comfortable place to spend a good chunk of time and there’s plenty to do in the area.
Bill was a great host and very accommodating. He met us at the property despite a late evening arrival and was quick to respond messages/questions throughout the visit.
Would definitely return for another stay.

Great time, great location, some property concerns
Enjoyed our vacation in the cabin (2/21). Arrived Friday -(owner allowed early check in) left on a Monday. Cabin was comfy, but seemed "man-cleaned" so we gave it a touch up. No operable fire place currently - owner might change that. Concerns over electrical wiring in cabin. Clearly not to code. Lots of wires looped over beams to power strips, open electrical outlet (wire nuts & tape exposed). We therefore looked for smoke & carbon monoxide detectors and there were none. We hope the owner will make it safe for future guests. We had an issue with loss of heat on our final night. We contacted the owner (he lives close by). We think that he thought we were over-reacting and just trying to turn the heat up beyond the hold pattern. This resulted in our heat going down to 53 degrees in the cabin. He did come to the cabin approximately 1 AM to fix- which he did. We don't think this will reoccur as he was extremely apologetic and stated this was his first winter renting year round. In summary, great location, great little town, friendly owner, cabin needs work.
Bill was so helpful and greeted us at check in. The cabin was perfect for us: it was close to skiing, out the door hiking to take the dogs, and the cabin had a lot of personality, which we loved.
We had a lovely long weekend at Bill's cabin. As others have said, it is SO much nicer than the photos! It is well located for cross-country skiing at Lapland Lake, but we also had a lovely time skiing on the (very) frozen lake, right out of the door, and no issues with taking our ski dog with us there :-) . Bill was a super-helpful host. I expect we'll be back!
A very tastefully put together log cabin, with a lot of character. A nice view from the porch, and the river/lake is right there for a walk on the banks. It was an amazing way to spend a couple of beautiful winter days in Feb .
Bill was an excellent host for this great authentic log cabin property. We had a wonderful getaway long weekend (dogs included)! The cabin was warm and had all we needed to snuggle in read books, listen to music and watch the snow fall. We loved all the curious collectibles. We had a great day snowshoeing at nearby Lapland Lake Resort.
We are going back hopefully in six weeks. Bill was a terrific host, and the cabin was beyond expectations. The VRBO photos do not do it justice. It was our first "vacation" in a year, and we could not have been happier with how everything turned out.
Wonderful long NYE weekend. Bills a great host. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable of the area and very accommodating. Bills cabin is great-clean and a fully stocked kitchen. Decorated with unique one of a kind eclectic pieces. It is perfect for up to 4 people. Our pups loved it. It's a very short walk to the beautiful rivers edge. You can see the river from the screened in porch of the cabin which is amazing. The views are beautiful and picturesque. We can't wait to return in the warmer weather. Thank you, Ali
