The house was in a great location the pool was wonderful but there were roaches a rat and the balcony railings were broken which could cause serious injury or death if someone leans on them I reached out to property management to inform them. I’m very careful about railings especially with my children but they need to be inspected because accidents happen.

Location is nice. Pool is great!
Being across the street from beach access made this a very desirable location. The pool was great! Very clean and larger than I expected. Perfect size for our group of 8. The house itself needs some love. Outside has taken a beating from the elements and it shows. Living room couch was dirty and not comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and the mini fridge for drinks was very helpful. The house had an ant problem from the minute we checked in. Considering the good and the bad, I would definitely rent this house again and would recommend it.
This was our first big family beach trip! We absolutely loved waking up to the view of the ocean! The pool was amazing! We definitely will be trying to stay here again next year! Perfect area!!!
We had a fantastic time on this vacation. The location is awesome and the view was amazing! We had the beach right across the street and a pool in the back. The best of both worlds.
We were supposed to have 13 with us and ended up with 10 and that was a good amount for the house.
Beach was beautiful nice location easy to get to the beach

Easter Weekend Getaway
First and foremost, I want to say that the management company was extremely helpful and easily reachable. Also, I have used VRBO for several years and I have never written a bad review until now. The views and location of this rental were outstanding. The interior was very clean except for the couch in the main living area. It could definitely use a good cleaning. The biggest disappointment about this rental was the pool.. In the listing it does specifically state that pool opens May 31st so we weren’t even expecting it to be open. The cover was taken off and the pool was filthy. Beyond all the dirt in the pool, there were chunks of what appeared to be vomit floating around and a dead frog. The management company tried to reach the owner about having the pool cleaned and we never heard back. No one wanted to sit in the backyard or on the back porch because of the condition of the pool. It was a shame! The pool situation should have immediately been dealt with by the owner. How do you allow paying guests to not want to sit on your back deck because of the filthiness of the pool? It was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
We rented a house in Florida in May. My father is ill and wanted a trip to Florida one more time. And the day before we were to leave they emailed me and said they had to cancel our stay for 2 weeks. We have already packed and fixing to leave. They didn't offer us a new house or anything. So we were rushed to find a place. As 4 of us have already taken the week off for the week. We found this house on Saturday and checked in on Sunday. Most places didn't have any last-minute rentals. We were so happy and surprised at how Beautiful Oak Island is. This was our 1st time there. But now it will be our yearly family trip. The house was amazing the views were so beautiful. My parents enjoyed all the decks. Thank You much for sharing your beautiful house. The Oak Island Accommodations was so easy to deal with.
Great location; nicely appointed property with the benefit of a pool. Large decks with good views. We also could have our dog with us since it was off-season. Minor negatives were the small dining area, games room accommodation that was rather claustrophobic, bicycles that were rusty and considered to be a health hazard for children - they really should be discarded. On the other hand, the kayaks were great and got a lot of use. Overall very positive and we would definitely consider renting this property again.
The family wanted to get together before the summer was over so I looked on line for a neutral spot we could all meet. This place was amazing as it was right across the street from the beach, the pool was a great place to lounge in the evening and the neighborhood was great with no loud parties. The owners were extremely accommodating with our request and the house was perfect with several levels for all the family. Also great playground for kids and outside amphitheater with music playing in the evening right up the street. Highly encourage this house for a rental...we had a great time!
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Oak Island. The house is located in a convenient location. Although it’s across the street from the beach, there was minimal traffic and we still had ocean views. It was very clean, had plenty of room for our family, and the pool was an asset. We will definitely like to stay there again if available.

House needs a deep cleaning
Before our arrival, I had received an email that the security deposit was due when I had paid the deposit several weeks beforehand. I was informed that the email was standard when I made an inquiry as to the mistake. I I was also informed that the refundable security deposit could take 30 days to be returned. I have never had a deposit take that long to be returned. The home is a nice home however needs a serious deep cleaning. Upon arrival, we took off our shoes to notice our feet were extremely dirty. My 8 yr old asked me to clean the floor so his feet would not get dirty. A bathroom mirror had not even been cleaned. The dishwasher had not been emptied. There were marks from dirty hands on light switches. Rather than call housekeeping, I cleaned myself. I did have to call for the dirty linens from the last renter to be picked up after our second day. Almost all the furniture has stains that could probably be removed if cleaned. Outside furniture needs to be updated. There were kitchen utensils that were rusted. The pool is extremely nice and spacious. Very convenient to the beach. With a deep cleaning and some painting, the home could be great.
Convenient location, comfortable home, management company has room for improvement
Overall, our group of four had a very nice stay at the Peach House. The kitchen especially was very nice and well stocked (except no coffee mugs). Comfortable beds, and living areas. The check-in process was a little bit of a hassle with the security deposit. We were told to have our security deposit at check-in, which we did. They called us the day before saying that they hadn't received the security deposit yet and we wouldn't be allowed into the VRBO until they received it. There was some lack of communication about needing to drop off the security deposit to Oak Island Accommodations office prior to our check-in since the office would be closed on the day we were to check in. We were told at 4:30PM Saturday, the evening before we were to check in that they needed the payment. The office closed at 5PM, and would be closed the next day. So that was a bit of a hassle to coordinate at the last minute.
Also, when we arrived at the VRBO at the designated 4PM check-in time. The cleaning person was still cleaning the VRBO, and said they would need more time before we entered. We had to wait outside the VRBO for about 45 minutes before they finished. It was daylight savings and this person didn't realize that and didn't seem to have enough time to clean the VRBO properly. For the high price, and already late check-in and early check-out requirements, this was disappointing.
We were also required to bring our own toilet paper, which was unfortunate for the price we paid for the VRBO. It seems like toilet paper should be a given.
Overall, content with the stay and would recommend to larger families.
