Un Fir gettable!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect location to explore Boone and West Jefferson. The decor was very charming and the hot tub was the best way to end a day of hiking.

Good cabin

Cabin was small but fit our family perfect. Brought our dogs and they had a great time. Went hiking at Elk Knob State Park, which had both easy and strenuous options.

Quiet with plenty of outdoor activities

This was our second time at this property! It was a little tight with 4 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs but still had everything we needed. Keurig and large coffee maker were great to have. Hot tub a great plus. Playground and river across the street!

Fun Stay in Todd!

Our family had a great trip! The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed walking to the park nearby with our toddler and exploring the little trails and the river right next to it. The cabin had all the pots, pans, etc. we needed to make meals, and we enjoyed taking advantage of the DVDs and board games. Also, the view from the hot tub was amazing. One thing to keep in mind is that it sounds like people hunt in the neighborhood. The next door neighbors were either practicing or hunting on their property, and it got a little noisy, even after dark. Overall, great stay in a gorgeous area, and I highly recommend it.

So relaxing

We loved this vacation! Plenty of room for our family of 3. Dog friendly. After putting the baby to bed, enjoyed some wine in the hot tub. Loved the Christmas tree farm next door and walked around. Fire pit for hot dogs and s’mores. Coffee maker so bring grounds! There is a microwave now too 😁 highly recommend !

Nice place to get away

We enjoyed our stay. Not too far from Boone. Definitely would need a 4WD vehicle with any colder precipitation. Overall a cozy cabin vacation.

Fir River Cabin for the holidays

Overall it was a wonderful experience. I did not expect the cabin to be a 20-30 minute drive from the main road, so come prepared. Once getting there, everything is tastefully decorated, fitting for the cabin experience. All pots, pans, and kitchen appliances you would need were there. Roku and a big selection of movie classics were a great way to snuggle up with the family and enjoy tea or hot coffee. Couches and beds were comfortable. We travelled with an infant and a toddler, so the cabin was a bit snug without feeling tight. The bathroom in the master is renovated with bronze accents and nice details. It is small, but met our needs. The toddler park is very close and made for a quick trip outside. The fireplace was cozy and there was a carbon grill available. In short, the house is well equipped for your needs for a fun family trip in the mountains. Thank you again for the experience!

Fir River Cabin Review

For a last minute getaway, we were fortunate the Fir River Cabin was still available. We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations. The cabin is beautiful decorated, very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our short stay. We have a small dog and this is the first cabin we've stayed at that had a nice size yard for him to explore. We didn't have to walk him on a hill or in a parking lot. The location was perfect, not too far from restaurants or retail stores. I would have given this cabin 5 stars, but my fiancé was disappointed we couldn't use the fireplace. That would have made our stay perfect. We do plan to return and hope we will be able to stay at the Fir River Cabin again.

Great Cabin, and rental company!

Wow, this is a very nice cabin, we could tell that the owners have put a lot of work into this home. Very nice neighbors across the way offered us firewood for the pit, they said help yourself! The wireless access and Roku TV were excellent also. My wife did yoga on the front porch each day. The only complaint would be that we were not ready to leave, literally. We thought we had one more night an ended up quick packing and leaving late, sorry for that. The location was great, Todd NC is a cute little town about a mile away, West Jefferson is 20 minutes in one direction and Boone is 20 minutes in the other. I would love to come back, thank you Carolina Cabin Rentals, we look forward to renting from you again in the future!

Family fall get a way

Enjoyed our stay...only improvement would have been a grill for cooking outdoors, and a small microwave.

Adorable comfy cabin

This cabin was perfect for our family getaway. It was very clean with excellent quality linens and kitchenware. It is obvious there are many recent upgrades and new furniture. Comfy beds and plenty of space. There were even dog bowls set out for our pets! You can't see it in the pictures but there is a lovely view behind the house. We loved the fire pit and hot tub too. There is a DVD player and movies available as well as many games to play. There were only a couple of issues were of concern to us. First - only 1 bath towel per person is not adequate for a 5 day stay. And if I am expected to launder my own towels then I think the cabin should have laundry detergent. Second, you really need a microwave in there. I would get rid of the toaster oven and replace it with a tiny microwave and a tiny toaster. No dishwasher was not really a problem. We brought paper plates. The owners are doing a great job with the little touches that make a rental feel more like home away from home. Overall highly recommend this cabin.

5 Stars

We loved our recent stay at Fir River Cabin. The location is great and the cabin was perfect for our family. We enjoyed using the fire pit every night and the front porch with rocking chairs and swing was a personal favorite. Having the river available for fishing was an added bonus and the bell at the front door entertained my 1 year old every time she got fussy. The only recommendation I have is to have a microwave available, Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Great Little Cabin

A nice cabin for a quick family getaway. The cabin was clean upon arrival. While the property is close to river access (a short walk or drive down the road), the property itself is not on or adjacent to the river. Note for planning meals while staying at the Fir River Cabin: The rental listing showed that it had a microwave; but, it did not have a microwave... instead it had a toaster oven. Just something to be mindful of if bringing microwavable popcorn, etc.

Beautiful location and nice upgrades to the home. Just a few miles for tubing which we enjoyed. Large yard for the kids. We would love to come again!
