This is a beautiful property with river views. It is close to plenty of entertainment and you don't get any of the noise. This place is definitely worth a second or third stay.
We met up with another couple to have a weekend to visit with our dear friends. The cabin was quiet and enjoyable. We were able to relax, but also get into a few things easily because of the location of the cabin being close to stores and some attractions.
This was one of the best locations I’ve seen offered in the area! We loved the porch overlooking the water, yet still so close to the strip and Dollywood. Kid friendly property and neighborhood! Definitely want to come back!
The location of this property was better for us since we are not fans of driving up and down the narrowed, dark roads of the mountains to the many rental cabins in Gatlinburg. It's close to all of the activities and to Ober. Pertaining to the actual cabin, it is a bit smaller than we expected but worked out just fine. The "old school" arcade, small air hockey table, and pool table were an absolute hit with my 3 kids. The main complaint I had with it was the absence of door mats. Snow was on the ground, so coming into the cabin brought in water and some dirt. Reentry from the outside hot tub tracked water inside as well. The cabin had everything we needed and the quick lighting (propane) fireplace was a wonderful touch. The outside creek was a nice place for my kids to explore. The cabin does sit alongside a busy highway but everyone is so tired at night, traffic noise was not an issue.
My family and I had a great time at this cabin. Everything it was as described. The Cabin looks just like the pictures. Loved the fire pit and it was so close at all the main activities of Pigeon Forge. Greatly recommended.
This was our first vacation in Pigeon Forge. We have 4 young boys, and this property was perfect for them. The Pool Table and mini-Arcade kept them entertained Whenever we were not outside. The river right off the back porch kept them busy the rest of the time. They even managed to catch a couple trout and smallmouth bass. I would highly recommend this cabin for young or even middle-aged children.
We had a wonderful long weekend stay at River Livin'! Great location right on the river...we were able to float some, and have beautiful views from the deck and hot tub. The oy downfall is traffic noise, as apparently the main road is used for bypassing Parkway traffic...plus it was Jeep Invasion weekend! Otherwise great stay!!
Overall experience was nice. Well stocked kitchen. Nice to have the washer/dryer. The game room in loft was great. Bedrooms are a little small as are the baths. If you are the guest sleeping on sofa bed you do have to go through either bedroom to get to bathroom. The outdoors space is the absolute best. Would go back again.
Overall, we had a good experience with this property. Our biggest issue was the dish washer was full of dirty dishes when we arrived. Also, some of the dishes in the cabinets were not fully cleaned. We loaded most all of the dishes into the dish washer to be cleaned before we used them. The cabin was cleaner when we left than it was when we arrived.
Cabin and scenery were awesome. Easy access to location. (one way a little hilly the other not so hilly) Used the pool table and arcade day and night. The indoor fireplace was cozy. Used the hot tub and the outdoor fireplace. Just about every night. Visited the Island. Walked Gatlinburg. Went skiing at Ober. Started snowing while skiing. What more could you ask for. I highly recommend this. Ed
This cabin was not terrible but lots of things need to be cleaned and or replaced! The futon in the loft has nasty stains. The sheets on the two beds look to be 50 years old. The bedrooms were very small. In the room with the king bed it was just enough room to walk around the king bed. The recliners need to be cleaned or replaced. The couch was good, but we never used the pull out so not sure what it looked like. It’s right next to a very busy road. Also if u are staying in any of the cabins in this spot they can come fish right infront of your cabin while your kids are wanting to swim.
Perfect location for winter use. Not far from the main strip, easy access to pigeon forge. Away from everything enough to keep noise and lights down.
PROS: location, basic cleanliness, comfortable space for 4 people, basic supplies available.
CONS: needs a serious deep clean, lots of dusty areas and cobwebs. Floor upstairs needs to be sanded and refinished- got several splinters before we started wearing shoes up there. Bed frames are too big for rooms- and make the bedroom space too tight.
The place needs some remodeling, and redecorating. Very outdated decor and style. Microwave frame fell off when using, and bathroom smells like sewage first few uses. Both showers are tight for adults. We had to replace battery in smoke detector when we got there, and can opener. Needs new door weather seals as place gets drafty!
Overall decent place, was comfy for three days stay- as we weren’t there much. However would bring softer towels, and toilet paper. They supply very basic bad hotel versions of both.
DONT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE CLEANING BEFORE YOU CAN STAY
If you like cleaning the house you rent before you can enjoy your vacation, stay here. First off, I sent message through Vrbo to property manager requesting the address to cabin the day I was to arrive so I could put address in my gps but was told they would send me the address once check in was available which I received at 3:47pm with a 4 pm arrival. We got to the property about 5 since we had to wait for the secret address. Once we arrived, we bring in luggage to find washer full of dry dirty towels, stuffed to the fullest unable to close and dishwasher full of dishes. So I sent a message with no success, then called and was told someone would be right over. No one showed for 2 hours so we left the cabin and I sent another text to let the property manager know we were leaving and would like the mess cleaned before returning. When we returned there was still a mess. Lucky I had stopped and bought Clorox wipes to clean counters and wipe down bathrooms which was good seeing the dirtiness left. Swept the floor. The next morning I sent another message, then waited an hour, called the property manager who once again said someone was coming to remove towels. No one came that morning, so we left and was gone for most of the day. We returned about 6. Still have a washer full of towels. At this point I needed the washer so I pull out have of the dirty towels from the prior guests add my detergent and begin to wash the first of 2 loads of towels. Then I unload the dishwasher. About 8pm a man knocks on the door with a big garbage bag asking to take the dirty towels at which point I tell him we have already done your nasty laundry. I sent the property manager a text that I was not happy. The next day she calls to offer me $100 refund on my stay if I sign a paper to promise not to post a negative comment. As you can see since you are reading this post, I did not accept the $100 because I didn’t want someone else’s vacation ruined by these scams artists. DONT STAY HERE.
The property is right on the river with a beautiful view but still a close distance to main attractions. The ducks will literally eat out of your hand which our toddler loved. Everything was clean and well stocked. The property management was great. They called us to let us know about severe winds and possibility of power outages. When we got home we realized that we had left something but property management was very helpful in working to get our items to us. Would definitely recommend and would return to this location.
I tried my best to catch some fishes. I didn’t catch anything. The cabin was clean. Had games and things to do for the kids. Really enjoyed our time there!
Convenient location, next to a small river. We could sit in the hot tub on the deck and watch the fire pit and ducks on the water. However, it was close to a street that was busy and noisy at times. Beautiful cabin!
My husband and I need it a get away weekend
And this place was perfect!!
We loved it
