House is great! Plenty of room. It would be helpful to have a TV and DVD player in LR, so family can interact more while cooking, etc. Safe area with view of railroad tracks.
We rented this cabin because we came to Bryson City to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad (GSMR). The depot was only five minutes away. This 4-BR cabin is very large and extremely nice. It has a large kitchen, roomy bedrooms and a porch that wraps all the way around the house. The gas fireplace is BEAUTIFUL! We liked it so much we are looking for a reason to go back and stay again. We really enjoyed the GSMR, too. If we ever go back, we will certainly try to rent this cabin again.
We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. It was spotless and well stocked with everything needed to enjoy your time there. You can relax and do nothing or be busy doing a different activity everyday. The location is great, a bit secluded but close to most things you’ll want to do. We all had a great time and hope to enjoy another week there in the future.
This was an AMAZING property for our family vacation. Me, my husband, our 2 sons and their wives and our 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 9 months to 10 years old. The host was incredibly responsive to all of my questions. So much to do in Bryson City AND we saw the train pass EVERY DAY from the deck of the house!
The house was the perfect set up for our extended family vacation! The layout was great for holding a larger crowd, and was very child friendly! Will absolutely book this house again!
Came up for the polar express and cannot say enough about this fabulous place. Perfect accommodations. Kitchen excellently stocked with anything you could need! Such a convenient location. Just seven minutes to downtown Bryson city. The hosts were amazing. Easy to work with. Professional. And quick to respond to any questions. Will definitely return!
The house was very nice, however there were a few disappointments. The upstairs bedroom stated on the listing that there is a queen bed, but it was a full size with a severe sag in the middle of the mattress which was uncomfortable. The driveway was hard to enter and exit with my Corvette due to the sharp angle from the road in front, and scraped the new front spoiler I just installed which will require repair of the finish. Also, the WIFI was bad and took forever to download anything. There is no TV available unless you have a Netflix or Amazon Video account, so we couldn't watch any TV, and only one TV in the whole house which was downstairs. Kitchen was great and main king bedrooms were nice. Spent time on the deck, nice view. The couches and chairs could definitely use replacement as most were pretty broke down.
Beautiful property, clean, cozy, every room was conveniently put together. Many trails, fishing locations, and dining locations within a 15 minute drive! Don’t hesitate on this place!
This home was really nice, me and 3 of my good friends take a trip every year. It has plenty of room and we all have our own bathrooms. Really nice getaway. Will definitely book this home again.
We traveled to share the same Santa’s Land with our grandkids that their moms enjoyed 25 years earlier. This house was a great home base for our long weekend trip. The grands loved the toy options and the adults loved the house layout and well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed making wonderful memories while at the house, s’mores at the fire pit, walking/sitting several areas provided outdoors, and definitely waving to the passengers coming by on the steam engine train ride that we saw loading up earlier that morning while we visited Bryson City for a delicious breakfast at Everett Street Diner.
We had 3 small families with 3 babies and 2 kids. This cabin was perfect for our needs. It was clean, comfortable and well stocked with linens, kitchen supplies and toys. From a thermostat for each level, to the comfy beds, to the room to play inside and out, we loved it!
The property had plenty of space to spread out as a family. The rooms are large and plenty of bathrooms. The covered deck is also great, along with the covered carport.
All six humans and one dog really enjoyed our stay. We particularly liked the wrap around porch where we spent many early mornings and evenings. Overall the house was very inviting with the two bottom levels being used the most. We enjoyed having no houses in sight and very nice landscaping. Although we were in our own private forest we were five minutes from a very nice grocery store and just beyond, Bryson City which was fun to walk through after a day in the park. In short we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to any moderate sized family group (or group of friends).
We had a wonderful time, the house was clean, had everything we needed and the property manager was very kind and it was easy to communicate with her. I highly recommend staying at this house
My family along with my Brother/Sister-in-law stayed for a week. The cabin was a perfect place to gather in the evening around the fire pit, play games, watch the SMRR train go by. For our group, the suite in the lower level was key because it gave my brother and sister- in-law a place away from the busy family area. However, the upstairs living area was beautiful and more than enough space for all of us to hang out, cook, eat, play games, etc. The kitchen was better equipped than any previous VRBO we've stayed in. The exterior area is beautifully landscaped and maintained. It's also very private, no neighbors that are in your immediate view. The location was super convenient to the grocery and to Bryson City (which is a really charming little town). It was also a good compromise for us... my husband wanted to be on the top of a mountain, I wanted to be close to things. The house is part way up and you do see mountain views while driving up though the view from the house is mostly trees (and the train!). Last, but not least, Stephanie was a great host and answered questions very promptly and made sure we had everything we needed for a fabulous mountain family vacation.
Exceeded all expectations! Beds were all super comfy, house is well stocked, location is convenient to tons of outdoor activities and shopping/ dining. Host was very responsive and easy to work with.
We traveled with kids ranging from 4-11, as well as grandparents. The house accommodated all needs perfectly. We spent a ton of time on the huge porch and enjoyed the large fire pit for hot dogs and s’mores.
Our kids were thrilled to be able to see the GSMR train go by right from the hill above the house. While in viewing distance- the train isn’t intrusive to the property at all.
We look forward to staying here again in the future!
Overall the cabin is much larger and more comfortable than we expected. A great place to unwind each day! The hosts were awesome as well! Very responsive and had an AC issue resolved within a few hours. Can ask for more than that. We will be back!
The house was super comfortable. Everything was great, honestly! Close to town and yet "tucked away" among the mountains!

About the host
Hosted by Stephanie Begansky
We are a young family that loves the great outdoors. This home was our primary residence for a few years until our Active Duty status moved us away. We hope to return full time some day but meanwhile wanted to share this home with other families to create wonderful mountain memories!
Why they chose this property
We love how close this house is to town, hiking trails, the Nantahala Outdoor Center, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and Fontana Lake! Everyday you can have a new adventure only minutes from the doorstep. Whether you want to just relax by the fireplace, go hiking, go tubing, go fishing, ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, or take in a scenic sunset, this is the perfect launching point.
What makes this property unique
Tucked away for privacy but no steep or long driveway, cell reception, and internet availability are rare to find in Western North Carolina. We have it all in this gorgeous and relaxing retreat. Sit on the deck and wave to those riding the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, listen to the birds sing, and then get out and see the sights!
