We so enjoyed your home on Sugarloaf. Cooking and enjoying meals in the awesome kitchen with the view was amazing! We walked between your home and the Nutshell in the beautiful weather! Thank you…we will return!
We stayed here for a wedding in the area. It was amazing! The view was gorgeous and instructions were simple. Host was super responsive if we had questions. We will be back!
My family has been visiting this mountain for generations. Our cabin is OLD, not great for severe weather and in desperate need of major renovation. We've known about this property for a long time, and when we found out it was renovated and available for vacation stays, we were ecstatic to visit! It did not dissapoint. Modern amenities without sacrificing that mountain cabin feel. Beautiful view, beautiful home, and beautiful property!
This was the ideal get-away for an entire family from Hawaii. The place was roomy and comfortable. The host provided games the family could play at night by the fireplace.
Our family recently styed at High Heaven. Literally at the top of a mountain which afforded great views of the foliage, sunset, sunrise- just a short walk and lovely moon over the mountains. Our grand children enjoyed exploring around the outside. The house was just the right size for us with four bedrooms.
All appliances and amenities were as stated in the description. We appreciated that bed linens, towels, soaps and paper products were available.
We felt the house needed more seating in the living area and perhaps some lamps as the overheads were obtrusive. This mountain home has the potential to be a cozy and inviting retreat with a few decorating and design updates.
Overall, a very positive experience. Hosts were available to answer questions when needed.
Recently stayed at High Heaven with my wife and friends. It’s a real treat. The views, the changing of the leaves, at this quaint home were all wonderful. The modern kitchen was a nice plus as well. I highly recommend starting here.
An amazing view with breathtaking sunsets. Great sleeping arrangements that can accommodate a large family or family and grandparents. Loved the house and its closeness to everything.
We travel to the mountains every year for Thanksgiving, and this is by far the best location we've ever stayed at. The house was incredible - I loved the kitchen. The living area was great for relaxing with a fire, and the master suite was amazing - fireplace and a view over the valley at sunset.
The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular, and since the house was on top of a mountain, we could walk out the front or back and have views from either side!
Our communication with Jessica was quick and convenient - she was a wonderfully responsive host.
I highly recommend booking a stay...we'll definitely be back!
What a wonderful home and the view is just amazing from every room! The amenities were great and just felt like home when we were there. Traveled with our baby and family of young children and everyone loved the time there!
Perfect property to enjoy the scenic Mountain Views yet close enough to everything North Carolina has to offer. You will not be disappointed staying at this beautiful home,
The house is very spacious. Peaceful with beautiful views for miles. A nice hiking trail right outside. Close to a very nice Winery. And several apple orchards with tons of family activities.
This place is filled with the peacefulness of the beautiful NC mountains, with the birds singing and serenity to unwind from life's demands. We walked on the country roads in both directions and it was beautiful! The Hosts provided for all our needs; we were greatly cared for, right down to the soft and luxurious towels!
If you are on the fence…..BOOK IT! Amazing views, quiet, tranquil, well stocked, comfortable home. We travel to the mountains twice a year and I’ve never stayed in a home that I would revisit, until now. This home checked all the boxes. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s spacious and clean and has everything you could need. Our kids loved exploring the property, having fires and playing games. Cannot wait to go back!
My wife and I just returned from a few days at this property. We booked a couple different places to stay around the Asheville region. In retrospect, we wish we would have had more time here.
The house is a legitimate gem. The layout is certainly unique, (not a bad thing) but you'll barely notice because you will spend the whole time looking out at the amazing views.
As other reviewers have said, this house is wonderfully remote. So, stock up before you come up the mountain. Also, if you are visiting other parts of Asheville, do that before you come to this house. Because, if you do it the other way around, you'll ruin the zen you get here.
When you are buying groceries, keep in mind that there are plenty of pots and pans, but essentially no staples in the house. So, if you are doing any cooking, you'll need to bring everything like sugar, oil, seasonings and anything else you might need.
We hope to return to this property for many years to come.
The rental property was AMAZING!!!! My family & I loved it. The view from the balcony/porch was breathtaking. I was a bit disappointed with the water pressure. The pressure was very low so I didn't get to enjoy the ridiculously huge jetted tub! The master bedroom was beautiful. I would recommend purchasing softer patio furniture for the deck off the master bedroom. We just didn't want to sit on the hard wrought-iron furniture. There was a good bit of spider webbs on the front porch furniture as well as the window sills and high corners of the home. The kitchen was large and open. The refrigerator was gorgeous😍. I know that we were there to relax, but a tv in the living room would be nice. The kids had the TV in the den, so the rest of us had to watch TV in the master bedroom. Overall I gave the property 4 stars. Jessica our host answered all our questions.
I first want to say that this was an amazing home with amazing views. The host was super nice and gave a lot of advice in our stay with tips and tricks that could help make things easier. I was looking for a get away for the weekend to just unwind and relax from everyday stress and my birthday. I chose this place because of what I wanted to see when I woke up in the morning. The pictures do not do it justice. The home was clean, well stocked and great location . Honestly , we spent more time in the kitchen, outside porch and master bedroom which I couldn't even begin to explain how lovely it was. The views were breathe taking and I couldn't have been happier with the piece and quiet. The hummingbirds were a nice to see every day and I loved the sunrise and sunset of each day. I also loved the green book that gave the history of the home, places to go and entry of part guests who are beyond silly with there replies. The scavenger hunt was an awesome touch. I definitely achieved my relaxing get away and wish I never had to leave. I will be back. Thank you Jessica for making it so nice and wonderful.
Lovely home with an absolutely beautiful view from the back deck. It is a remote spot - twenty minutes up winding roads to get to it from the main road - but for us it was well worth it. We did a lot of fun things during the day, but enjoyed returning to our mountaintop home.
We had an amazing time staying at the High Heaven. A truly unique and magical house. The views are better than expected, and the sunsets….incredible. The house is stocked beyond what we imagined. Great communication with Jess.
Even better than the listing suggests! High Heaven is a beautiful place to relax. Three of us (plus two small children) were looking to get away from it all for a few days and we found the perfect place. The views are spectacular and the house is well appointed and comfortable. Jessica is responsive and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to come back.
Our group had an amazing time! We had everything we needed from the Jessica, the owner! She was super accommodating. The pictures can’t describe how amazing the view is. Every night the sunset was epic! The property is very secluded... it felt like we were the only ones on the mountain. The place was immaculate! The Master bedroom was a retreat in and of itself! We had 8 in our party and we all slept comfortably. The kitchen is big and had everything we needed for our evening meals. Downtown Hendersonville has a cute mountain town feel. We actually liked it way better than Asheville. There’s tons of places in the surrounding area to go hiking to see waterfalls. Overall, our trip was incredible. We will definitely be back.
As flatlanders from southern NJ, we weren't sure of what to expect from our 1st trip to the mountains of North Carolina: & we were totally blown away! The area is mind bogglingly beautiful & the home exceeded our expectations! Pictures do not quite do it justice! It is spectacular: Truly a gorgeous home, so well kept & interesting in design: we were thrilled! Gracious, communicative hosts, & a trip that will live in our memories forever.
