Nestled in the tall pines, the Laughing Moose Lodge is the premier large-group house at Crystal Mountain. 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and 3000 sqft provide updated accommodations for a large group (up to 20) or multiple families with separate, comfortable gathering spaces for relaxing, playing, reading, or socializing with enough privacy for everyone. Enjoy the surroundings in an attractive, warm and comfortable Northern Michigan retreat motif. Natural tones, unique textures, and themed bedrooms make this a memorable place to enjoy time away from home at a great location. Perfect for a larger multi-family group, or a smaller group to enjoy great spaces that cannot be found at other accommodations at the resort. Completely equipped from the spacious kitchen to the laundry room, with high speed internet and central Air Conditioning to ensure everyone’s comfort.

The Laughing Moose Lodge is a great base for Northern Michigan fun in every season. The outstanding Crystal Mountain Resort is at the doorstep, including a water park, alpine slide, bike and hiking trails, a world-class art park, 2 full service restaurants, climbing wall, skiing, snowshoeing, and more.

Nearby are the huge Lake Michigan sand beaches, charming Elberta and Frankfort, the elegant natural spaces at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, canoe/kayaking on the Betsie, Platte, and Crystal rivers, scenic M22 through Empire, Glen Arbor and Leelanau wine country, Traverse City festivals, and on and on.

Spaciously furnished with natural and luxurious furnishings, and meticulously maintained - many experienced guests say that the Laughing Moose Lodge is the nicest place to stay at the entire resort!

This property has been rented through VRBO for years with 5 star ratings. Ownership changed hands August 2020 with same services, cleaning, maintenance, furniture, etc. Still the Laughing Moose experience.

Great vacation home

We enjoyed our stay at Laughing Moose Lodge! Plenty of beds and space for our extended family staying for a long ski weekend. We love the convenience of the shuttle to take us to the ski hill and we could walk down to the resort market and restaurants. Overall great stay and we will come again!

Five star ski weekend

The property is very well laid out for a large group! We had a group of 8 and the property could easily hold double that with room to spare. Very well stocked with all the essentials, super clean and very close to skiing at crystal. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Great ski location with lots of room

Great space for 3 families for a post Christmas ski trip. Everyone slept well, several meals were cooked in the home, and the number of beds provided options for sleeping arrangements. The entrance has lots of room for boots and being on the golf course is ideal for sledding. We’d walk to Buck with a car dropping off our gear. Only thing to note as an FYI is a sulfur smell and slow coffee makers, otherwise everything went smoothly. Would definitely stay again.

Annual Labor Day golf weekend

Loved the house, had everything we needed and then some! Owners very generous with household necessities! Our group of 5 couples this year really enjoyed the bonfire pit and being right on the Betsie Valley golf course! The weather was so amazing that we hardly used the pool table or played as many games and cards as we usually do! Tons of amazing memories were made this weekend with great friends! Thanks again Melissa and Jeff you guys and The Laughing Moose Lodge were a big hit with all of us!! 😊⛳️☀️

50th Anniversary Celebration

Property is rustic but was very adequate for our family. Horseshoe drive was very nice to park 5 cars and utility trailer( with bikes and kayaks). We enjoyed several evenings sitting around a fire in the backyard. Always had enough hot water for showers, would have appreciated more fire wood and bath towels ( one towel per person required doing laundry frequently). If the property rents for 20 people, I had expected with 14 people that we would have plenty of linens and bedding. Great location for Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City and biking. We had celebration dinner at The Thistle Pub and strongly recommend. Quick response from owner when had minor issue. Thank you for allowing us to rent this house.

The Laughing Moose is excellent for a large group. We have stayed many times and always enjoyed it. A few minor cleaning related issues, the table and chairs in the screen porch needed to be thoroughly cleaned. There was no wastebasket in the lower bathroom? The propane tank for the outdoor grill was out of gas and we were unable to grill or find a replacement until the owner's rep called the next day. Otherwise the accommodations were excellent. An Easter Tradition

We’ve stayed at this same property multiple times … we return to this property because it conveniently accommodates our family as we gather together at Crystal Mountain each year for Easter (a tradition for 36 years an counting). Lots of beds/bedrooms, pool table, large yard for the egg hunt, screened in porch, lots of room for parking. We highly recommend the Laughing Moose Lodge.
