I brought 14 middle and high school students from Colorado on a week long trip to visit pittsburgh. The Clement was clean and comfortable for us, and had almost everything we needed. The neighborhood was mostly quiet and safe. Phillip and his Assistant were very personable and helpful, and checked in with us regularly. There were plenty of clean blankets, pillows, towels and washcloths. The sleeping pads were very comfortable. Sometimes I was cold at night, but in an old church, cold is going to happen! Luckily there were plenty of blankets. Bathrooms and showers were adequate for our sixteen person group.
My only suggestion: more cooking equipment. Otherwise, this was a perfect situation.
A group of girls from our church went Champing here and we loved it...it was a great space for our little girls to run, play and dance and we set up tables for food and pampering. One thing that came as a great surprise to us was to learn that a man who works there also appears to live there. As a group of women there with young girls, that was unexpected and uncomfortable as there was no way to secure/lock the area. That being said, the man seemed very nice, and did not bother us in any way.
Overall a great spot for a larger group. We had 13 and there were plenty of linens (sheets, blankets and towels) and mattresses for the tents. Lots of open space for the kids to be able to play!
The only improvement would be to the kitchen. The owner did disclose that we needed to bring our own supplies as if we were camping and I fully admit I did not clarify that point with him and had assumed it would have basic cooking supplies (pans, pots, spatula, etc). But you do need to bring ALL your own kitchen supplies.
The owner was very responsive to all our questions.
Would definitely recommend for a group stay!
Start off by saying, property manager was fantastic! Great communication and the understanding of what we needed and what they do have. Immediately responded to emails and actually has a YouTube video online showing where everything is located. Stayed overnight in tents, the cots were very comfortable and everything was very neat and clean. Will definitely do this again with my colleagues.
Great venue for your own private getaway with friends or to have a large party. Cool architecture. Like having your own castle playground. Owner was so nice and helpful. Great time!
What a unique and fun experience!!! The kids and dogs were able to run around in a cool, bug free environment while the adults enjoyed knowing we were in a historic church. The tents were great, plenty of clean bedding, a really great time. I highly recommend for groups looking for something unique!
Philip was very nice and helpful. He made the check in process very easy. He made himself available for a good portion of the day. The venue was very clean and had many doors making bringing items in easy. There is plenty of parking and it is wheelchair accessible.
The venue great acoustics for music so much so that I only needed one speaker. There is plenty of food storage and space to put cooking items. There is also a family dollar at the bottom of the hill if youve forgotten to bring a few things. Great rental.
