Stunning dream getaway on sought after Grendel Lake!!!! With plenty of room for friends and family, this gorgeous 3 bedroom, 2 full bath chalet has all of the bells and whistles. This property is ideal for families, or small groups with a 6 adult maximum. When you enter the chalet you are wowed by the view from two stories of gorgeous fully insulated windows, high ceilings, distressed hardwood floors, and beautiful cedar walls. The expanded kitchen with plenty of custom cabinets is fully stocked and ready for preparing your holiday dinner or for packing up the coolers to head to the beach! The large dining room has plenty of seating for that special family birthday dinner. The kitchen opens to the fabulous great room with a two-sided stacked stone fireplace. You can also enjoy the fireplace from the window wrapped sunroom off of the separate dining area.
Take in the incredible views of the lake from the expanded newly replaced deck with large outdoor dining table, BBQ grill and covered seating area. The back yard provides level access to a private lakeside dock, fire pit and private beach area. The canoe, kayaks, paddleboat and stand-up paddle board are available for your private use. Beautiful house on a secluded lake

The house was beautiful and well maintained. The small lake was quiet and scenic. Our group appreciated the information Samantha provided prior to arrival and the well stocked kitchen. Overall it was perfect and will definitely stay here again.

Our families thouroughly enjoyed staying at the Black Dog Chalet! Everything we needed for lake fun was provided. We did bring our own bikes to better explore the Innsbrook area. The Pipers are very gracious hosts.

Quality time

This was a perfect place for a low key, relaxing vacation! The small lake it is situated on was perfect for paddle boarding, fishing and swimming. Communication with the host was fast and easy. Highly recommend this property!

Family Vacation

We visited Black Dog Chalet with our kids and grandkids. The large kitchen was great for three cooks. We had a great time. We enjoyed the lake and the feel of being in the middle of nowhere but also the pools and pickleball.

Family trip

This place is just Amazing we had a really good time my grandbabies didn't want to leave, just what we needed a weekend of relaxation wecwill definitely go back. Thanks Samantha for everything you are Amazing.

Show dog approved!

Samantha was excellent at communication from booking through our entire stay. Our family of 5; which includes our Grand Champion show dog had the best time at Innsbrook during our week long show at Purina Farms. The house is equipped with absolutely everything you need for an amazing and relaxing trip. Fully stocked kitchen, hand soap, dishwashing tabs, liquid hand soap at every sink- even the showers had all necessary toiletries. Not only were all linens provided, but so were towels for the lake. We arrived late at night at were welcomed by a large breed kennel and large breed dog bowls! This was such a welcome sight…we have stayed in many “dog friendly” places before but we have NEVER had any accommodations for a dog our size. The swee

Missouri for Family Reunion

We stayed four nights at the lovely property and we all could have stayed much longer. The accommodations are were great. The entire family enjoyed relaxation, the water & peacefulness. Everything you needed including towels, water socks, life jackets & a variety of water craft to make our stay so enjoyable. Thank you for all the memories!!

Great family vacation

The Black Dog Chalet was a fantastic place for our brief family vacation. It rained half the time we were there but the scenic view of the lake from the main room, the cozy reading chairs, and the games in the house offered a plethora of opportunities to enjoy ourselves and make great memories. Because of the rain we had to make some last minute adjustments to a scheduled family photo session and Samantha was very helpful with suggested locations around the community. Overall, it was a wonderful time.

Great get away

We had a wonderful time at the Black Dog Chalet. The property was as described. Very clean and with all amenities we needed. Great spaces to be together, but enough space to spread out as well. Having kids toys on hand was a great bonus. Our children (age 7, 6 and 2) loved the house (in particular the bunk room, foosball and golden tee) and we kept busy with activities on the lake, the pool/park, hikes, trips to the log cabin/schoolhouse, and to nearby destinations like Joel's Safari, blueberry/cherry picking and the lavender farm. A memorable trip for all.

Second Time Even Better

This was our second time at Black Dog Chalet. We enjoyed the first time there so much that our hope was that the second round would be equal to or at least close to our first stay. It turned out to be even better. The house itself, the location and setting, the great lakeview, the helpfulness every step of the way from Samantha Piper, were all a 10 on a scale of 1-10. But we realized this time around that this is a case where the whole is even better than the sum of its parts - there are all of the tangible specifics, but then there's just the overall "feel" or "vibe" or whatever that is just so relaxing, comfortable, enjoyable, peaceful in other ways that it's hard to put your finger on exactly. As a fun plus, I went out in the canoe one morning and caught somewhere around 30 smallish to medium sized bass. All in all, couldn't have been better (although, my daughter and her husband did come visit for a day, which was great, but, once again, my son-in-law beat me at fusball; I'm going to have to practice before our next visit).

Perfect family getaway

Wow!! My sister and I, our husbands, my son and his Best friend, and my father visited this lovely property. I’m so glad to have made great memories of fishing canoeing, paddle boating, making s’mores at the fire pit and just enjoying the beautiful fall colors. I think any time of year would be great here. The chalet is gorgeous and stocked with everything we needed. We see definitely coming back.

Perfect for our outdoor crew!

My family of two sets of twin boys, my husband, and I had a fabulous time! The property was perfect for our family of six- with room to spare- and our boys absolutely loved all the water activities and toys, fishing, and roasting marshmallows. It could not have been a better start to our fall break. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely home in such a beautiful area!

A blended family weekend getaway

We had two families for a total of eleven adults and teens from St Louis only one hour from home. The property was beautiful and just what we were looking for. Right on the lake, a great deck area, a house fully outfitted and lots of room for all. Our host was readily available for anything we needed during our stay and very gratuitous to boot. This was such a wonderful time for us.

Beautiful water view home

We were looking for a place to stay where we didn’t need to leave the property to enjoy the water since we only had a couple days for this trip. It met every expectation. The house is gorgeous and spacious with a beautiful view of the water. The outdoor set up for sitting and enjoying nature or watching the kids play in the water couldn’t have been better. The kids loved swimming and kayaking and it was so nice to be able to have our fur babies there with us.

Keller-Dunn Family Retreat

Very accommodating property for 6 adults and 4 children, we swam, fished, BBQ'd and relaxed. The community pool was a great place to hang with the kids. The Golden Tee made for some fun times when it rained.

Great place to bring your whole family!

First thing I noticed was the long relatively flat driveway! Plenty of Innsbrook chalets have steep driveways so it was awesome not to have any issues driving my prius down the driveway. Upon entering we noticed the dog kennel! This was a huge deal to us as one of our dogs prefers to sleep in a kennel, and gets stressed if he doesn’t have one available. We didn’t have the room in our smaller cars to transport his, and were worried about how he’d do throughout the week. So, thank you for that!! Owner left us stuff to make s’mores, and two treats for our dogs which was a nice and unexpected touch. There were bath products if you forget anything, and they had spices in the kitchen. We brought most of what we needed, but it’s nice to have those on hand. We brought our own, but it looks like they also had plenty of life jackets and pool noodles. Plenty of beach towels too! They had firewood on site which I’ve heard not all the chalets supply. We fished, played with the dogs, went to the pool, visited a couple of the beaches, used their canoe, and used our own inflatable kayaks. They have 2 youth size kayaks and a stand up paddle board available as well. I didn’t see it mentioned in the listing, but there was a paddle boat on the shore that we enjoyed using. My kids also enjoyed playing on the Wii, the top golf game, and challenging their dad to foosball. We had one rainy day, and my kids didn’t have any problems entertaining themselves. I appreciated the second lounge area with tv so I could watch something while my kids played on the Wii. Grendel lake was busy over memorial weekend due to the closest neighbor having a ton of people over, but by Monday evening the lake was quiet and continued to be so for the rest of the week. The water was much cleaner than I expected after staying with friends at a couple other chalets in the past at other lakes. You could see the bottom several feet out from the shore which was helpful since my daughter is a bit scared of snakes. The chalet is close to the water as well so it’s not a trek to get to the lake like the other chalets I’ve stayed at. Overall, we enjoyed our week and would stay here again.

Great place for great memories

This was an amazing home. The property was very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. We truly enjoyed our stay on the lake, in the quiet, and spacious Chalet. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating areas and the canoe. We will definitely book with this Chalet and property manager, again.

Idyllic Setting and Home
