Come relax at our beautiful secluded river cabin tucked away in the heart of Strasburg, VA in a glorious river community. Our family has had the pleasure of being a part of this community for many years and would like to share our home with you. The stunning views from the wrap around deck will send you to a place of relaxation and bliss. This 2 bed 1 bath cabin features a full kitchen, large master bedroom with beautiful skylights, living room and dining room, and a large screened in porch and open air deck. Outside activities include a private fire pit area with a horseshoe pit. You will also have access to the community river lot for all of your fishing and tubing adventures (Tubes and fishing poles are provided). This is a mountain retreat. It has steep steps and a steep walk way. It is a true mountain cabin. The drive to the house is alittle steep. If we have gotten snow or alot of rain the driveway maybe difficult to navigate without 4wd or all wheel drive. This is a mountain cabin.

We loved our stay at the cabin! It was a lovely getaway to the mountains and it was so nice to be able to spend some time in Shenandoah National Park as the entrance is so close. The cabin was cozy and perfect for our trip. The hosts were also so accommodating in making sure we could stay even with bad weather forecasted on the weekend we planned being in the cabin. We would recom
This cabin & the listing description is exactly what you get. Remote & quiet. My dogs were in heaven with all the space to run in the woods. Hubby gathered firewood, which there was .plenty very close by
It’s the coziest of cabins snuggled into the mountains! Close (40ish min drive) to Shenadoah National park for great hiking. A ten minute drive to its own cute little downtown. Do not recommend suicases with wheels, only pack duffle bags as the entrance to the cabin is up a few rocky steps- nothing that hindered us but did see noted in other reviews.
The house was great! Everything you need in a mountain cabin.

Loved the location. The cabin definitely needs a good cleaning. This oven was filthy, the shower had someone else's hair in it. Bring your own sheets and there's a stain on the mattress cover. I had to wash the shower mat before use. The air filters were disgustingly filthy. The owner did change the filters, but couldn't take 30 seconds to clean the grates when he put in new filters. There seems to be no pride in ownership. A little elbow grease and paint goes a long way. And...sweep the leaves off the deck owners, don't be so lazy. The place has a lot of potential. Don't let your investment go to waste,
Overall, the cabin was very clean and well stocked and with extensive directions were provided, however use of the TV could have been better. TV wifi kept going out. Because of rainy weather driveway was a challenge but it all worked out. We would visit again maybe in early summer.
The cabin was everything that we had hoped for and more! Secluded, quiet, and surrounded by nature. We’re very glad we brought the car with 4 wheel-drive to get there! The drive into Shenandoah on Saturday and Sunday was super easy and downtown Strasburg was great! Definitely would recommend trying out Box Office Brewery if you stay! It was a great weekend!
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay! We rented a jeep 4x4 truck for the driveway which came in handy! We loved this place especially the screened porch and the little light fixtures on the ceiling fans too cute. Trying to figure out how to turn on and Duhh the fixtures tell you. Loved that! Also, while laying in bed closer to the door, if you lay in the middle and look up there’s a heart shaped Branch in the top of the trees which was definitely a treat to see!! We simply loved everything about this place! Thank you.
The house was very cozy and definite cabin feel. The porch overlooking the mountains was very relaxing and the string lights inside and out gave it a great feel.
Only thing we couldn't find were blankets for the twin beds.
I’m not sure how this property got so many high ratings. I’ve stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this one was not up to par. I am surprised at the lack of reviews that mention the incredibly dangerous rocks that you need to navigate just to get to the walkway. I hope the host has homeowners insurance.
As many reviews mentioned, it was dirty inside. There were about 15 used bed pillows randomly stacked up, the couch and pillows were stained and dirty. The bathroom floor was slate with a chunk missing that you could easily slice your foot on. This place had very poor lighting and the twin beds were hard as a rock.
What made no sense was that everything in the cabin was cheap with the exception of a $1200 Cutco knife set on the counter.
With all that said, the screened porch was nice and there were several fun places in town and nearby Woodstock. The area is stunning with gorgeous views and the townspeople were super friendly.
The host had good communication but may want to consider some updating and provide a safe walkway.
This cabin was a wonderful place to stay! It was quiet except for the sound of birds in the woods. The interior of the cabin was clean and well furnished; the bed was especially comfortable. While we didn't make use of the fire pit, the screened porch was our favorite place to sit day or night. Although it might have been too early for them, we felt relaxed on the porch knowing we wouldn't be attacked by mosquitoes or other bugs. It was easy to take our dog out for a walk on the back roads through the woods and had we stayed longer, there would have been a few games of horseshoes played! This place is a true gem.
We had a wonderful and relaxing time. It was quiet, clean, and beautiful. We went fishing, toured DC, and went shopping in Winchester. George was very accommodating and the house had everything we needed for the weekend!
The Masten Cabin was exactly as advertised. Rural, quiet, and inviting. The bed was super comfortable, and all the appliances worked perfectly. The entire cabin was clean and well kept. We would definitely consider staying there again. Thanks George!
Had a great time staying at the Masten Cabin, celebrating our anniversary and my husbands birthday. Quiet and secluded in the woods, yet close to Winchester, Strasberg and points beyond. Well appointed with comfy furniture, we especially enjoyed the screened in porch to sip coffee and enjoy the view. If our travels take us back this way, we’d love to stay again!
My wife, dog, and I loved our stay here. House was clean and very secluded. Easy drive to Shenandoah for hiking. Spent some time in down town strasburg too, box office id amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a secluded getaway.
We really enjoyed being in the trees on the screened deck listening to all the lovely birdsong! Loved the comfortable King size bed. Trips to Shenandoah National Park and quaint Downtown Strasburg were delightful.
