About this property

Beach House with pool on Playa Pelada (Nosara)

The magical village of Playa Nosara is located on the Western Coast of Costa Rica. The area is lush with jungle flowers and trees and hosts abundant wildlife..howler monkeys, iguanas, toucans and parrots. The Nosara area includes three distinct beach areas, Playa Nosara, Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada where the house is located.

There is a 300 ft easement from the beach to the house that is protected as a wildlife refuge so there is a 5 minute walk. Step through the trees and you find the most beautiful, quiet, white sand beach, great for swimming, beachcombing and sunbathing. A 5 minute walk over a hill and you'll find Playa Guiones, considered one of the best surf spots on the central peninsula.

Within walking distance are great restaurants, ATV rentals, groceries and hotels. All the roads in and around Nosara are unpaved so Jeeps, ATV's and walking are the best methods of transportation. There are inexpensive local taxis (tuk tuks) available.

For recreational needs there are several surf camps located in the town in addition to surf board rentals and private, daily surf instruction. Located just south of Playa Giones is the famous Nosara Yoga Institute which has regular classes and workshops. Horseback riding on the beach is available and there are two local monkey sanctuaries that can be visited.

Ostional where you can watch the arrival of the turtles. Or if inactivity is more your desire, spread out your towel on the beautiful white sand beach and listen to the waves and the sea gulls or sit in a rocking chair on the verandah and sip local Tico beer.

If you're looking for a culinary experience, the restaurants in Nosara are very high quality and reasonably affordable. The typical dish, Casados, of rice, beans, plantains and chicken, fish or beef is by far the freshest, best value. There are pizza restaurants, Asian influenced and European restaurants as well.

The house is well appointed with hand made solid teak furniture and bright fabrics. There are two bedrooms downstairs with a queen bed in one and a king size bed in the other bedroom and the upstairs loft has 2 twin beds.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare full gourmet meals or just whip up your mango and pineapple smoothies. There is a good sized combination safe in the closet so you needn't worry about your valuables. Beach towels are provided for your use.

Vacation in Pelada

We enjoyed our stay very much. Good privacy and location. 10 minute walk to beach, 15 minutes to Main Street for shopping or restaurants.

Cute little place

Great house for the two of us. The pool was a life saver since we did a lot of walking to the beach and wonderful little restaurants all thru playa Pelada and Guiones area. We enjoyed our month long stay and would rent this house again. The property manager assisted us with any issues that came up. The beds were very comfy and kitchen well equipped. The only reason I did not give a five star is because the living room furniture not so comfortable, and the pool side loungers could really use some cushions.

Very disappointed

Didn’t receive directions to home until the very last minute, literally waiting at rental car place for location information. Upon arrival, the home looked as described. We were greeted at the home for instructions and keys. We were told nothing can be flushed down toilet, not even toilet paper! One toilet was leaking water on the floor and smelled of sewage. not only were the beds hard as rocks, there were small bugs on master bed. It was raining heavily and the power kept going on and off. Because of all of this, we didn’t even stay the first night. We immediately moved to a nearby hotel. No power issues at hotel and toilets allowed toilet paper to be flushed. If the toilet issue was disclosed in home description, we would have never booked this home. The home is close to the beach but not able to swim or surf due to too many rocks, another piece of info not disclosed. After waiting 5 days for the owner to respond, No amount of refund was granted. After years of renting via VRBO, this is the first time ever having any issues.

Loved the home. Quiet neighborhood very safe

Loved the home. Quiet neighborhood very safe. Claudia was so helpful at check-in and checkout but also with any questions we had along the way she has contacts for everyone so booking adventures, transportation, meals was all very easy. The house was a little farther than we expected from the beach. Because it was hot and we had surfboards it was a little bit too much of a walk. Playa Palada is the closest beach and gorgeous for sunsets and beach walks but we preferred to go to playa guiones ‘s for surfing and swimming The house was well stocked with sheets, towels, toilet paper and paper towels to start as well as a few spices. Dishes and utensils were perfect for cooking meals in.

Pleasant and beautiful moments at Casa Paraisito.

Casa Paraisito is a beautiful, quiet and very well located house in Playa Pelada. The house is fully equipped with everything you need to have a great time. Near the house there are supermarkets, restaurants and a bakery. From the house it is possible to observe howler monkeys. Nearby there are many surf schools, which for my daughter was one of the high points of the place. All the surrounding beaches are so beautiful. The attention of the owner and managers was always very kind and friendly. We recommend it without a doubt.

A little piece of heaven

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this little piece of heaven on earth. Beautiful house and property, takes less than 5 minutes to walk to Playa Pelada and it's so beautiful. Don't want to go to the beach today then just jump into the pool, it's so refreshing. Both the owner and the property manager were delightful to deal with.

Amazing stay at Casa Paraisito!

This is the second summer in a row that our family of four has stayed here and we just love this house! We prefer Pelada as it's a bit more quiet compared to Guiones Beach. That being said there are amazing irestaurants close by-Il Pepperoni Pizza, El Chivo, Lagarta Lodge and Olgas are all very close. The house had everything we needed and more! Stay here and remember when you come to Nosara, you never have enough swim suits and always too many clothes. Thank you for making it such a wonderful stay for us! Sincerely, the Ricci Family, Denver

Beautiful home. Beautiful setting.

We enjoyed our stay in Paraisito very much. The house is so beautiful and spacious. Gorgeous wood everywhere and our kids lived in the pool which is small but clean and warm!! I loved the hammock out back!! Challenges were the elaborate security system- alarming the house and locking the gate each time we came and went was complicated. (Especially when kids forget things and we have to do the process all over again!!). Also, we loved the outdoor dining space but would have used it more if we had some plastic dishes etc. I was much too nervous (especially after one shattering event in the kitchen) to let my kids eat on glass over concrete outside. So that was a bummer. The second floor loft is great for kids (love the tan beds) but very hot even with the AC on full. The other challenge is that the house is isolated and you can't walk to anything other than the beach. We rented a "Jungle cart" and got around that way. Overall, we really enjoyed our time. Nosara is an amazing place!

Beautiful and relaxing

We had a fantastic time in Playa Pelada. Having arrived at night it was a rough start because it felt like we were far from everything. But the home is really just a short walk from several good restaurants, two lovely beaches, and a tiny market where you can stock up on drinking water or enjoy a fresh pipa (coconut water). The private pool was the highlight of this home for us. The roads in all of the Nosara area are very rough, but we had fun with ATV rentals to get around. The reason I give only 4 stars is because air conditioning was a hefty additional charge and coming from the northwest, we found A/C to be absolutely necessary. We were not informed of the additional charge until our arrival at the home, so I would advise fellow renters to be aware.

Lovely villa near beautiful sandy beach

We stayed at Paraisito in Feb 2017. Thoroughly enjoyed the villa - though thank goodness A/C was working because it was hot! Both main floor bedrooms were well-appointed and comfortable thanks to A/C. Kitchen is perfect for anyone looking to make simple meals. Pool is small - but was absolutely perfect after a morning at the beach or an outing - all 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids) managed to hang out and cool down and even swim a few mini-laps. Would note that at least when we were there, it would have been way too hot to have anyone sleeping in the loft, as there's no functioning A/C up there - so good thing we were only 4 people and could adapt the main floor bedrooms to our needs. Thanks for a great stay!

Paraisito is heaven on earth

Our second visit here for two weeks was even better than the first time (we were here for a week in 2015). The addition of the pool, which we used many times everyday, and the rancho for dinner every evening were great additions. The house is well equipped and very comfortable for us as two couples. We took day trips to Playa Giones, Samara, Punta Islita. Some us had Tica massages, while others had an introduction to yoga, in spectacular settings. The quiet beach was only a short walk, for swimming and body surfing, and Olga's for coffee or lunch. The Howler monkeys provided hours of entertainment right in our backyard. The area suffers from serious drought conditions and the owners have installed a backup water system. We had a few small problems with it, but they were fixed promptly. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back again. Ron, Sue, Jane and John

Great time at a great place!

Our family did a week in Nosara and had a great time at the house! The pictures don't really do the place justice! The kids enjoyed the pool and the beach was a short walk which was really nice! We enjoyed eating dinner outside each night too! Would definitely stay there again! :)

Perfect location!

We had a wonderful stay here at this lovely house. We know this area quite well as we have family living here. This was a great house for us, very secure and close to the beach. Great outdoor space, nice kitchen, refreshing pool. We had a problem with the refrigerator and the management company took care of it right away. We had 5 people in the house and there was plenty of room for all. We are going back again soon and have already booked this house!

Enjoyed our stay but

Would have appreciated knowing about the water shortage prior to our arrival. We arrived on a Saturday after a long drive from Arenal and although we had been in touch with the property managers several times they did not mention that the water would be turned off after 4 PM and not be turned on until 9 AM the next day. We arrived just after 4PM and truly all wanted a shower. The water shortage also changed our holiday as we had to adapt our comings and goings to when the water was on so that we could fill up about 15 water jugs for the night. The house was lovely and thank goodness we had the pool. We also had to ask the property managers for glasses and mugs as there was not enough for the 5 of us--they were quick to respond but should have checked the house after the last visitors left. We love Costa Rica and Nosara in particular --great people, food and beaches and will go again but would be hesitant to rent from this property manager again.

Amazing Place for Family Retreat

My group of five - three sisters, two boyfriends - rented the Paraisito for a week in March. The place is outstanding and we really appreciated the amenities, including the air conditioning. The pool and outdoor dining area, coupled with the security and secluded-yet-close-to-everything location were perfect for us. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice - trust me - it's super nice! The only negatives are that we couldn't get the grill to work - and two of us are chefs - so it just smoldered for an hour before we went inside to use the oven. And, due to a town-wide water restriction, we didn't have water in the house from 4 pm - 8 am. Nothing to do with the property team, just something to be aware of if you visit Costa Rica during the end of the dry season. The management team, both Virginie and Erika are amazing and super helpful. There's a white binder in the house with everything you need to know about enjoying your time in Nosara and we found it extremely helpful. Cannot recommend this place and this team enough.

Great place to stay in Nosara

We stayed for 8 days at Villa Paraisito over the holidays in 2015/2016. We had an amazing time. The villa is nicer than it appears in pictures, the beds are very comfortable and it's fully equipped with everything you need during your stay. The pool and outdoor living area are fantastic. We hired a chef one night and she brought an amazing home-cooked meal at a very affordable price. Unfortunately she wasn't able to cook for us at the house because the stove doesn't work so well (who needs a stove in Costa Rica anyways??) Definitely recommend renting a jeep or 4x4 as the villa is a little ways off the beaten path (we really liked this). We rented a small jeep, Suzuki Jimny, and found it quite uncomfortable on the roads. Next time would definitely spend more for a larger vehicle with better shocks. There are lots of restaurants nearby including our favourites La Luna, El Chivo and Seekretspot for the best gelato. Highly recommend this vacation property.

Comfortable, Convenient, Amazing Experiences in Costa Rica

My family of 5 (3 kids of 17, 16 and 11) really enjoyed this house. The house was very comfortable! AC was a must! The house fit our family perfectly with the 2 boys in the loft. We enjoyed hanging out together while making meals in the kitchen and great room. The pool was perfect! Was great to hang out in it around noon when it was really hot. We loved eating our meals outside under the covered table outside and lounging in the hammock. The beaches were a short walk, literally a 2 minute walk. The beaches were beautiful and we loved going there everyday. Outdoor shower was convenient coming back from the beach. We could make meals and do laundry. It really had everything we needed! The process was very smooth upon arrival. We didn't run into any problems. There wasn't a TV which I actually liked! Made our kids get out and explore :) Very safe area. Our kids would wander the area and we had no fear whatsoever. Locals were very friendly and happy. A lot of English-speaking near the area (Guiones). Restaurants were walking distance from the home. Great food! We rented a jungle cart which made it a bit more fun than a car (which is a headache and a rip off to rent in Costa Rica) and were able to get everywhere we needed. Even beaches north, Ostional and south, down past Playa Guiones. Lots of surfers in the area, some of the best surfing I've seen. We left just before the Christmas season and it got crowded very quickly during that time. The week before we were some of the only tourists in the area it felt like. Check out the Sebu Howler Monkey Sanctuary, very cool and a great cause! Zip line was great! Kayaking was awesome in the nearby estuary! Really, we loved everything about this trip and there was still so much more to do... so, we will be back :) I highly recommend this home to anyone! I would recommend flying in to San Jose and taking the $50 hopper flight to the Nosara airport (what we will do next time). I already miss this place!!! :(

Peaceful Serenity in Nosara & Playa Pelada

My family of 4 (2 college daughters) spent a wonderful 5 days at Paraisito in April of 2015. Although listed as a home, it could legitimately be better described as a 5 star villa, with every amenity you need for a wonderful vacation. The craftsmanship alone was flawless, beautiful exposed, cathedral dark wood ceilings in each room, intricate tile work throughout, 2 beautiful bathrooms with walk in showers, and a layout which gave plenty of room for fellowship but also privacy when needed. The location was ideal. We spent the first few days driving and exploring various beaches and towns in the area but the last few days we stayed right at Playa Pelada, a 8 min walk, (or 2 min drive) from the house. (There are two parking areas to this beach, one closer to the house and one, more public, closer to 2 awesome beachfront restaurants. By the way, we rented a beach umbrella at the Frog Pad for the week which was absolutely essential (in addition to to sunscreen). We went zip lining and horseback riding, and ate out a few times (our favorite was La Luna) but we also bought food to cook breakfast and lunch (mostly smoothies) back at the house with its fully appointed kitchen. With all the activities, however, we all agreed our highlight was getting to the beautiful beach, enjoying the sun, ocean, swimming in the waves and exploring the tidepools at low tide, and returning back to Paraisito each evening. A truly relaxing and refreshing vacation. P.S. A special thank you to the owners and caretakers who answered many questions very quickly and gave great advice for activities and transport logistics to make our stay one of the best vacations we have had as a family.)

Beautiful Nosara & lovely house

We spent 10 wonderful days in Nosara in January. The house Paraisito, formerly Green Fish, was a lovely, spacious home with everything you need (only thing missing was a kettle). It was in a quiet neighbourhood (except for the Howlers in the mornings, which we enjoyed) and was walking distance to Playa Pelada beach. There was a washer and dryer which was very convenient, good Wifi and lots of TV stations. There were visiting ants at night in the house, which is to be expected in the jungle, and we just swept them outside. The roads are rough to drive but you get used to it & it's well worth the trip! You don't have to have a car to get around but it would have been a long walk to Guionnes, so we would recommend a car or renting a jungle cart. We were there in the dry season, so the main road is quite dusty from the dirt road, so again for us the car was better. We loved La Luna restaurant on Pelada beach, Harmony Hotel in guionnes (restaurant, juice bar and yoga), swimming at either Pelada or Guionnes beach (Guionnes is busier) - the ocean temperature is warmest ever! Not to be missed is the tour of the Nosara Refuge for Wildlife with Brenda - she is doing amazing work & is truly inspiring! We had a relaxing stay at Paraisito and Virginie the property manager was always available if needed. Highly recommended.

Wonderful stay and overall trip to Nosara

Comfortable home and close to the beach. Great for families or couples travelling together. Quaint town with plenty of near by restaurants (within walking distance). Beautiful beach. Air conditioning helped to cool us down on the very hot and humid days. Outdoor shower was great for washing off the sand. Convenient to have a washer and dryer as our stay was for 9 days. Very safe and lovely property.
