Welcome to this architecturally renowned 1959 mid-century modern condo that has been extensively remodeled. Enjoying a spacious, fully enclosed private patio with spectacular mountain views in a single-story spacious open floor plan, the Royal Hawaiian Estates is the only Residential Historic District in South Palm Springs and was designed by noted architects Donald Wexler and Richard Harrison. With a fully appointed kitchen, clean polished concrete, restored original terrazzo flooring in the kitchen, all new appliances, fixtures, and bathrooms., guests will see the time and effort that was directed towards the remarkable period furnishings and decor. After a long day of exploring the city, there will be no better way to end the day than sipping a cocktail on the private patio!
Design: In the design of the Royal Hawaiian Estates, Donald Wexler and Rich Harrison make a statement in the truest spirit of their times. From their first conception, Wexler's ideas have been single-mindedly directed toward the clean, modernist lines of Bauhaus design adapted to unique desert scenery and climate. His apprenticeship with Neutra and Cody, his steadfast vision of clean lines leading the eye to open vistas, sometimes framed as graceful arches may be considered his personal signature.
