Great place to stay. Deck is overlooking the water. Neighbors are very friendly and the place is quiet. Not a party place but wonderful for seeing the local area and just relaxing on the deck.

Cute Cabin - Beautiful Spot

While this was our first rental through VRBO, we have stayed at many vacation homes over the past few years and this cabin was the cleanest and most well organized home we've ever seen. Very comfortable! 5 stars on everything - heartily recommend . We loved our stay - very relaxing with beautiful views. Cabin is well appointed and decorated with lots of fun signs and nice touches.

A lovely home on the water

We absolutely loved our stay at the Gone Fishin' cabin. The house was very clean and well appointed, we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Our kids loved the extra toys, playground and crab shack. They also loved being right on the water so we could play in the sand and dip our toes in. Our dogs enjoyed lounging on the fenced in back patio. We adults loved sitting and just watching the water and wildlife. The private neighborhood beach down the way was a short walk and sandy for the kids to dig. We even got to see some low tide animals when the tide was out. It was a truly wonderful time and we would book again. A few things that are useful to know: The drive up to the neighborhood has narrow and hilly roads, it was fine for us but it wasn't walkable. The road the cabin is on is narrow but the driveway is set up to be able to turn around. The beach directly in front of the cabin is only present during low tide, there is a large rock break-wall that you can climb down. It was so nice to have beach some times and then water to swim in off the break-wall later in the day.

Pampered Peace

Gone Fishing' was such a terrific place to stay for 10 days. It's outfitted with very nearly everything one could want. The neighborhood is quiet, away from people and traffic. We especially liked the spacious kitchen and deck. The large dining area gave both of us plenty of work room. The setting, right on the water, was absolutely beautiful at all hours. We would definitely stay again when returning to the area.

The perfect place for a city break

No matter the weather, this place is great as a quick get away from the city. So relaxing to just sit in front of the fire and watch the water. We had a power outage and the owners were great with looking up the expected fix time for us - very communicative. I cannot say enough nice things about this place. We have already booked our next stay!

Superb

We stayed here for nearly two weeks and loved every day of it. The cabin had everything we needed to relax, cook holiday meals, and enjoy the property. Of note: we worked remote from here -- the internet/wifi was error-free, plenty of bandwidth for Zoom meetings.

Fun vacation

The house was great! The neighbors were pleasant, and being on the water was really neat and different for us Midwest folks. I rated 4 stars for location, though I'm not sure there could be a 5 star location based on the area's geography... The drive in and out of the neighborhood was not the most convenient, and i think because we are from the Midwest i just assumed something different. Once we got our bearings of the area things flowed much more easily.

Welcome to Gone Fishin' Cabin, our home away from home in the Northwest! My husband and I both have busy careers. And like most working parents, we are challenged by balancing family needs with work schedules. The cabin is our little Puget Sound waterfront get away from the chaos of normal life. Here, we can enjoy a stroll on the beach with the sea breeze in our hair, take in the amazing oceanfront view while sipping our morning coffee, and listen to the crashing waves from the deck lounge. And the best part, the kids can play on the beach, go clamming, learn to fish or kayak in front of the cabin. Happy memories are made of these...!

Why they chose this property

Gone Fishin' Cabin is in the amazing Puget Sound and within an hour from Seattle. We're super family friendly. It's easy to travel to the cabin, either by Ferry or by road. It's in a small rural village, but also close to Gig Harbor, a seaside port with a pedestrian waterfront, quaint shops, restaurants, and all amenities.

What makes this property unique

As a family, we love just hanging out by the water and enjoying a relaxing time BBQing, fishing, crabbing, clamming, kayaking, snuggling with a book, or playing board games. When we feel really ambitious, then we go for a long walk on the beach. Taking it easy is what we enjoy best at the cabin.
