This vacation rental is located on the Bolivar Peninsula, with the beach just a short walk down the nearby access road allowing you to swim in the Gulf of Mexico with ease. Rent a golf cart or ride bikes into the heart of Crystal Beach less than two miles away, or treat the family to a game of miniature golf at the Gulf Range. The Fun Spot Water Slide is only two-and-a-half miles away, and you will also be an easy drive from the famous Stingaree Restaurant & Marina (just over five miles northeast)! Just over 15 miles away, the group can visit the Strand Historical District of Galveston and take a picture in front of the Greetings From Galveston public mural.

The worst experience

Avoid Vacasa-managed rental properties. We booked through Vrbo, but Vacasa runs the property. This trip was a nightmare because of Vacasa's poor management and lack of communication. Hurricane Beryl hit Texas two weeks before our check-in, and despite several reassurances from Vacasa that our original property was fine, it turned out the owners were living there. This led to us being relocated twice. The final property, Coronado's Getaway, was a disaster. It was filthy with sand on the floors, dirty dishes and counters, filthy bathrooms, and couches different from the photos. There were dead roaches scattered around, no hand towels or soap, and sand in all the beds. We had to wash all the linens and still ended up with bed bug bites. We ended up spending the first night of our stay cleaning the unit, essentially paying Vacasa to clean it for them. I informed Vacasa about the state of the property just before we left, and their call center representative promised a call from a local office, which never came. Instead, I received an email offering a $50 reimbursement for the unclean unit, which was insulting given the conditions. I called Vrbo to escalate the issue, provided them with pictures, and demanded a full refund. We did not receive a full refund, only a partial one. Dealing with Vacasa was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The lack of communication, poor customer service, and unacceptable property conditions make them a company to avoid.

Great location and Family Friendly

This property was in a great location with easy access to walk to the beach! The home did have updated furniture which was not picture in the listing, but was very comfortable! The house was clean, however we did see a cockroach in the kitchen, so the property managers may want to bring in pest control. There were ample beds for sleeping, however all of the mattresses were extremely firm and uncomfortable. One of the queen beds had a severe dip in the middle and appeared to have no support in the center (possibly broken). We were not able to sleep on it for fear of the bed breaking further. Overall we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed being there with family.

Disappointment

I have rented this cabin 8 or 9 times over the years. The broken, cracked or lack of plates or other service items is poor. No washer, dryer was a burden. Taking time to go to laundry while on vacation is lousy. No one can tell me that a broken washer/dryer cannot be replaced in one day. The offered alternatives were unacceptable and only offered the evening before my arrival. In Texas we call that chicken-sh*t

Great location, overall nice house!

We enjoyed staying at this house for the long holiday weekend. Only a few complaints the counters in the kitchen were dirty when we got there and there were only two beach towels. So nothing major at all. We would stay again for sure!

Caution

Stairs and railing are in poor condition. I am a senior citizen and railings that pull apart when used cause accidents. Non useable lift should be noted in property description. I have stayed at this property many times and the lift was always accessible for customers. A simple 'working' can opener should be available. Master bedroom bed was covered in sand, so that a complete sheet strip down had to be done. I was very disappointed.

Just like the old days

Great and plentiful towels. A bit dusty and a moldy shower, new decking but railing wobbly in at least one place. Good location a 2 minute walk to beach and a nearby convenience store. Bedding had been left in the dryer, inconsistent with things like hand soap, a pan had been put away unwashed. Reminded me of places we used to stay in 70 years ago. Seemed like it was a renovation in progress.

Nice Place

Nice place but needs some attention for roaches. I killed 2 large ones and saw another in the pantry. A small one in the refrigerator and one on furniture. Other than that its a nice place with quick access to the beach. Just be aware there is lots of beach vehicle traffic on certain weekends. Make sure you check what is happening at Crystal Beach before you rent.

Horrible Vacation

This was the worst vacation we've ever been on with VRBO. This house was filthy from the grill to the vents. There were bugs in the kitchen cupboards and drawers and coming out of the vents. One of the beds was broken, one of the TVs was broken, the heater was not efficient. We had to turn on the oven to get warmth in the house(over the new year holiday it got down into the low 30s). The local manager finally moved us after 4 nights and multiple calls and texts. By then 1/2 of our guests had gone home. The only reason we did not leave is because we had family from out of state staying near by. We have contacted Vacasa multiple times and are still waiting for a GM named "lena" to call us back (we don't believe she exists). The local manager keeps telling us to contact the GM but when we call customer service says someone will call back....still waiting! They did credit us the cleaning fee, finally, but I will not be a Vacasa customer any longer. I will rent from other rental companies from now on. So very disappointed in Vacasa as we have rented many times over the years! I waitied to do this review hoping I could say what the company did to rectify the situation but we finally just stopped all payment on our credit card. I wonder if we'll hear anything now??

Big Misconception

My experience was…This was a terrible experience! Very dirty and roaches Cabin not maintained at all. Porche had missing and rotten boards. This created a terrible situation with the small children. We left two days early.

Wonderful location and great family home

I absolutely loved the location and the community feeling. The ferry ride back and forth from Galveston was beautiful! The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you would need and then beach is just a short walk away. I enjoyed sitting on the swing in the morning drinking coffee and watching the waves come in! I highly recommend this house for your vacation
