The location is perfect and the cabin is everything you think of when you envision Cloudcroft. We love the retro vibe with some modern touches. Warm and cozy and very spacious. We would love to stay again.
It's a nice big place, we didn't use the down stairs rooms and beds for sleeping, just the bathroom. It would have been nice to be able to get in and out of the other doors, but I understand if there have been issues before. The iron was missing and it seems someone took it with them. It needed a little more cleaning. Need more pots & new cooking utensils, a bigger TV would be nice too. Close to the golf course & the view was very pleasant, especially watching the horses on the course and around the area. Over all our stay was quiet and relaxing.

Very Disappointing
First impression...where do we park....absolutely no parking! Second impression...this property is VERY outdated and very neglected! The walkway up the hill to get to the front door is a total safety hazard, especially carrying luggage and supplies. There's, also, no lighting on the walkway and there's misplaced bricks and rocks all the way up...and its not a short distance from the street to the porch! When you enter the property, the basement is an immediate drop off to your right. The house is supposedly controlled by "google", but most every light is not functioning in the house. The house has a horrible smell....pretty sure its dog urine. The only TV they offer, is a 19"computer monitor. The drinking glasses are chipped and you can chose between a Christmas coffee cup or a UTEP coffee cup for your morning coffee. There are two tables...one is an actual dining room table, and one is a folding game table. Both tables had flimsy folding chairs. The sheets and towels smell bad...the pillows are so flat you might as well not had a pillow. A nice mattress, clean sheets and pillows go a long way, after all, you're going out of town to rest and relax! The bathroom was just nasty...rust in the sink...the floors need to be redone...grime around the commode, bathtub and baseboards...inside the bathtub and shower were horrible...old avocado green Rubbermaid flowers to prevent slipping that were peeling off. I honestly didn't want to use the bathroom or shower the entire weekend!
The one positive, was a nice wrap around deck, however, there's no outdoor furniture to sit outside and enjoy it. We had to take folding chairs from the dining room table in order to have something to sit on. Nothing relaxing, comfortable or enjoyable about being outdoors sitting on a folding chair!
Overall, I would never recommend this place or rebook ever again! If I am going to pay the price it cost us to stay at this place...I expect way more than what they offer! There's a cleaning fee, yet they have a list of expectations for you to do before you leave and what they will charge you if you break or steal anything. Trust me, there was nothing there to break that wasn't already broken and there's defiantly nothing I would want to take with me on my way out!
My family and I had a wonderful stay. The cabin has obviously been well cared for over the years. Our children enjoyed trying a few of the board games that were available. The den and deck provided a great place for us to hang out and relax.
We loved staying here! The porch was my favorite. Nestled in the pine trees with aspens all around. Place was clean and had everything thing that we needed. We’ll definitely stay again.
My son and I stayed over New Years. It was clean, cozy, and as advertised. Rob was quick with answers to questions and responses. Cloudcroft is a cool area. Glad we went.
