DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Gulf Dunes Resort, unit 609 is a beautiful, 3 bedroom condominium with a 7th floor beachfront balcony view. Luxury upgrades of tile floors, upscale furnishings, flat screen tv, and and mirrored walls make this the perfect beach vacation rental for a family of 8-10. The master bedroom has balcony access, has a king bed with a recently replaced high quality mattress, and also has a private, recently remodeled master bath with shower. The 2nd bedroom has two full beds, tv, and direct access to the 2nd bath. The bonus room has built in bunk beds and a tv that is perfect for kids and there is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The private balcony directly faces the Gulf of Mexico, providing unforgettable views of the sugar white sands of Okaloosa Island and the emerald green waters of the ocean. Dolphins can be viewed from the balcony almost daily. Enjoy breathtaking Sunrises and Sunsets from one of the Cleanest and Most Unspoiled Beaches in all of Florida.

You will be within walking distance of several Restaurants, and souvenir shops. This Beach Front Property is accented with Tennis Courts, a Private Gym, two Seasonally Heated Pools, and Protected Natural Dunes. The Fishing Pier is within walking distance, as is the famous Crab Trap and Gulfarium Complex. Okaloosa Island is conveniently located 1 mile from the New Convention Center, 1 mile from Fort Walton, and only 6 gorgeous miles from Destin.

Overall Great, but be Prepared for Rules

Fantastic space for the price. Be prepared for a novel of strict rules that may scare you to the extent of not being able to relax (ie. If you stink up the place or lay on top of the bed comforters you may get a $350 fine).

Labor Day Week

Overall, our stay was great! It was myself, my husband, and our 4 children ages 4-13. One of the reasons we chose this specific condo was for the number of beds. Each kiddo had their own. The front room where there are twin bunks is not a true bedroom in that it doesn’t have a closet. It’s tiny. It doesn’t have a ceiling fan and gets poor circulation. We had to turn the AC way down at night to get that room cool. That room also doesn’t have curtains. The other bedrooms do. We had to hang blankets over the blinds so it wouldn’t be so bright. It faces the front walk way too so there were lights on all night. The master bedroom doesn’t get great circulation either but it was better than the tiny front room. The light under the microwave doesn’t turn off. It will dim but you can’t turn it completely off. There does need to be some updating. We noticed several loose floor tiles throughout. Living room furniture is older and feels worn and compressed. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware necessary to prepare meals. There’s even a blender! The managers provided plenty of dishwasher and laundry soaps, as well as trash bags. We stayed for 10 days and didn’t have to purchase our own. Views from the balcony were amazing! Dolphins daily!

Stayed for a week. Short walk to the beach. Beach was amazing. Boardwalk was within walking distance, beach was white sand and soft. Outdoor showers. Close to many restaurants and shops. The apartment had a fridge, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, 2 showers and tubs, plus there was a garbage shoot nearby. There were also TVs in each room with Netflix/Hule etc, and Wifi. The view from the apartment looked directly onto the beach and ocean. The only small downside was that there was still some sand left over in the shower from the previous guests. Also I would think it would be helpful to include a hand rail in both the shower units - it was very slippery when taking showers. Please also, could you provide a few more garbage bags. We had to buy more garbage bags.

Beautiful Condo at a Great Location

The condo was beautiful and well kept. The balcony had an excellent view. They also had a lot of items in stock. Cooking utensils, margarita machine, pots and pans. It was awesome! They do need a new can opener, the one we used definitely needs thrown out and the mattress in the master needs to probably be replaced, it slopes pretty bad on one side. It feels like you might roll out of bed. Other than that, it's perfect!

Our stay was wonderful. Great location on a beach that isn't as crowded as some areas. Having beach chairs, umbrella and a covered parking spot were a nice perk! Pools were never too crowded even on the busy week of 4th of July. The condo itself was well kept and clean! Beds were comfortable! Kitchen was nice! The balcony and view were definitely the highlight. We also really enjoyed being across the street from Stewbys! Would definitely come back to this condo!

Wonderful!

Access to the condo was convenient, fast and easy. Parking was marked clearly, though it may appear random (covered parking places seem to be nearest stairwells of appropriated condo). We had two cars, and there was never a shortage of spaces in the general parking lot. The check in materials were easy to follow and we never had an issue getting in or with any of the codes. The condo itself was very clean and comfortable. There were six of us - my husband, myself, two teenagers, and two young adults -- basically six adult-sized people. The bottom bunk was a little tight for my son (who is grown man, so is to be expected), but he was fine on the sofa bed. The kitchen seemed to be well-stocked, but we didn't really cook this time, so could not tell you specifics. The view is TREMENDOUS. Right on the beach, and great to just sit on the balcony. The pools seemed small to me, BUT, there were always chairs available and it didn't feel crowded when we were in it. The walk to the beach was super easy and seemed fairly accessible because there was a ramp when there were stairs. Across the road is Stewby's Seafood Shanty. It doesn't look like much, especially compared to other eating establishments near by, but this place is wonderful and my family ate there several times (easy walk across the street). The pier is a fairly easy walk on the beach. My biggest shout out, though, is probably to the guys that did the beach service for the condo. They were super friendly, helpful, and in at least one case, a hero. The rips the week we were there were TERRIBLE, and they never hesitated to hop on their boards and pull people out. The lifeguards were working hard, but simply couldn't be everywhere, and without Dale and Trey (I think were their names) and some of their coworkers, the week could've been traumatic for many. While they probably aren't directly associated with the condo, know that you will be taken care of on the beach as well. Fort Walton is a bit of a drive for us, but would totally stay here again, if the opportunity afforded itself to us!

Once again we were overwhelmed at how clean and wonderful everything was upon our arrival. We have had the BEST experience from booking through checkout each and every time!!! So thankful that true caring customer support is still important through you all. Our only suggestion would be for the second bathtub to have some sort of no slip added as it is a little slippery. Beautiful View!

The checkin process was easy - you never talk to anyone. They just send you the door codes. There is plenty of parking. The view of the ocean from the living room is incredible! We saw dolphins while we were on the balcony having morning coffee. I would stay here again.
