It was easy to contact the host. Information regarding the house and procedures was clearly communicated. The house was comfortable to stay in and everything worked properly.
The property was spacious for the family to stay. Easy to get around also. The inside contains so much history. It was nice seeing the craftsmanship that doesn’t exist any more and the Knick knacks from all over the world were very interesting to see. We had Adults which was great but there are quite a few breakables so I wouldn’t suggest for a family with small active kids. Great place thanks for sharing it with us.
The house is like stepping into a time capsule. The views are amazing in all directions. It has convenient proximity to All Star Village and Oneonta. Loved the family history and heirlooms.
Perfect place to spend the evening/night after a long day of driving.
Our host met us at the house and showed us all the features.
We all slept great and we’re refreshed for our day in Cooperstown. Would definitely stay again.
We rented the house while our son participated in Cooperstown All Star Village. It was a short drive. The home had everything we needed for the week. The owner communicated well and we had no issues.
Carlton was great! Gave great directions, recommendations, checked in to be sure we got settled and check-out was a breeze. The house was a nice spot for my family while my son played baseball at Cooperstown Dreams Park. We didn't spend a lot of time at the house, but it provided just what we needed. Beautiful views to enjoy while sipping coffee on the enclosed porch and having dinner by the fire pit too.
A really neat old farmhouse overlooking some beautiful countryside. While we were there, there was very little road traffic but just enough to let us feel completely safe. We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs and have never seen one so well stocked. When we did need something, Oneonta was a short, pleasant drive away. Cooperstown is another close pretty drive. The wifi and internet are excellent in the house, though cell service is real spotty in the area. (I recommend writing down the key box code before going to the house.)
Carlton has done an excellent job of making the stay enjoyable. There are labels and small placards throughout the house to let you know what is where. Real nice touch.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our visit.

VRBO was in accuracy of distance to Cooperstown playing field, the reason we came out to watch our grandson play &explore Cooperstown NY.Beautiful scenery. How ever for an VBRO they have a lot of delicate personal items(China, quilts, collection of spoons & lots of furniture. Closets unusable. Although in each room designated drawers that could use) Unfortunately renters prior did not clean the grill, however my husband cleaned before & after using as my son in law picked up a grill brush. The kitchen had needed items to use to cook. But I feel they need to clear out overused items that needed cleaning before use.We made sure that after we cleaned fridge(spillage all shelves probably from previous tenants but house cleaning service should of caught that as I’m sure the owner expects them to clean properly. We cleaned, vacuumed all rooms before we left&followed Carlton’s instructions that were clearing located in binder on kitchen table. All bedrooms had in room air conditioners that were easy to use & worked VERY WELL. Regarding home use, alerted him of items that were not working. Easy to get a hold of Carlton through email as phone service was very spotty as we were informed. Last getting into home was easy. Plus the other door also had a key box we discovered as party that went back to VRBO did not have key to get in..so we did remember there was a lock box on side door we easily got spare key out of lock box. Once in we put back in lock box after locked door. Thank you Carlton
Our family was in town for our son’s Cooperstown tournament. We had a wonderful stay in this home. It is full of history and charm. So peaceful and relaxing after all or our baseball games!
Everything was as described. We lost power for 30 hours from storms, had associated issues and he couldn’t have been more helpful every step of the way. Don’t delay on renting from this guy!
My husband and I were looking to stay somewhere remote and this was perfect. The house was incredibly charming and peaceful. Carlton was a great host and very responsive. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.
This farm house is AMAZING! I felt like I was at my grandpa's house, which is like home for me. The views in the front of the mountains are breathtaking and the views from the back are so peaceful. We had a great time around the fire pit and the pond- so many bullfrogs!! The walking trails were super fun as well. We were far enough out to feel like we were all by ourselves but close enough to town that running errands wasn't a problem.
The full moon was amazing and a week later we had a perfectly clear night and I swear we could see every single star in the sky.
Carlton, thank you so much for sharing your family home with us. We appreciated the hospitality.
Carlton is a great host. He met us on the property, showed us around, and had the fire pit blazing! His daughter’s even made my kids and I some goodie bags. Very sweet :) Not to mention they left us some sparkling cider and New Year’s decor to bring in 2021!
The place has a throwback feel, but hey, it’s an old farm house! Would consider the place again if I’m ever gonna be in the area.
Thanks Carlton!!
We had a lovely stay!
We were looking for a getaway from the city for a couple of days. We had a quite place to walk in nature, an open nice view of the farm, fresh air, bbq on the fire pit, and most importantly rest. This place was perfect for what we were looking for.
When we arrived Carlton greeted us and showed us the house. He was an excellent host and very comunicative. He made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
The house is full of amazing history and it felt very special and warm.
The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook.
We had a great time strolling on the grass and walking through nature through his huge 150 acre property. We greatly enjoyed every day outside around the farm in nature, lunch with bbq at the fire pit, and even playing foosball in his mini-game room!
We asked Carlton for recommendations in the area and we tried two major ones: Pizza 23 and Andres Blue Ribbon BBQ and they were really good! Thanks Carlton.
If you’re looking for a quiet time and memorable vacation we strongly recommend this place!
Thanks again Carlton for making our stay so great!
