Perfect Beach House

Lovely house worked perfect for our family of 7. Easy access to the beach. Cean house, beautiful decor with all the amenities. Walking distance to restaurants and a few stores. Will definitely consider staying here again.

Fun 'n the Sun

The home's location just lends itself to the fun had by the family. This is our second stay and it was as good as the first time. Mary and Debbie are helpful and attentive. Highly recommend.

Fourth of July

We stayed 5 nights over the week of July 4th and had a great time watching fireworks on the beach and enjoying a relaxing vacation. The Sunflower house was the perfect house to stay in as it came with all the beach necessities and more. It was equipped with everything you would need for a week at the beach.

Manasota Key

The property is excellent, boasting spectacular views from the den and kitchen. The house is extremely well stocked with kitchenware, linens, and all beach items you might need. There are several shaded outdoor areas downstairs including a large dining area and grill and an upper deck with comfortable, padded furniture where you can sit and enjoy the breeze and scenery. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and hope to return.

Fortieth Anniversary Staycation

Beautiful, comfortable beachfront house with incredible views. The beach is great, lots of big shells! Well equipped, comfy beds, lots of indoor seating. The only disappointment was the seating on the balcony. Instead of outdoor table and chairs as pictured in VRBO, there was a mismatched collection of patio chairs and pads, not in the best of shape, and no umbrella or shade structure out there. Not a deal breaker, but would have been a great feature.

WONDERFUL LOCATION

SO WONDERFUL THAT ALL OF US PLAN TO RETURN WHEN WE CAN STAY MORE THAN TWO NIGHTS. ONLY PROBLEM WAS THE VRBO WEBSITE STATES CHECK IN IS AFTER 3PM AND CHECK OUT IS BEFORE 11AM BUT THE CLEANING LADY INFORMED US THAT CHECK OUT TIME IS 10 AM. IN NO CORRESPONDENCE WAS I TOLD THIS. ...ONLY AFTER I LEFT THE HOUSE AND HAD MESSAGED THE CLEANING LADY AT 10:40 AM DID I LEARN THIS. WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH IS CORRECT BEFORE I RETURN FOR ANOTHER STAY. VERY CONFUSING.

Amazing Property!

What an amazing property! The check in instructions were so easy and once we got in the house had everything we needed! The kitchen had was fully stocked and we had everything we needed to enjoy the beach! The views of the sunset from the balcony and living room were breathtaking!

Breathtaking View

The pics in the listing doesn’t do it justice. The panoramic view of the ocean from the living room makes the entire trip! My husband and I took our young adult daughter and a few of her friends here for her birthday. They absolutely loved it. The room with all the beds made it nice for them to all sleep in the same room. Check-in was a breeze, and checking out was just as easy. Our family cannot wait to come back to the Sunflower house. It was everything we wanted and so much more!!

Great views of the gulf, but…

That’s about it. My family and I aren’t sure how this listing has garnered a 4.9/5 rating: it’s your typical herd ‘em in, herd ‘em out cash cow rental owned by some hands-off millionaire and overseen by a local property manager. The pictures in the listing are a bit deceiving as the house isn’t as large as we expected. The living room furniture is visibly dirty. The upstairs patio furniture is pitiful and needs replaced as the chairs are very rusted and the umbrella is broken. The beach chairs are also rusted and disgusting, stained with mold and suntan lotion oil. We experienced several issues with broken appliances during our stay: The dryer worked for the first day but then wouldn’t start for the rest of our stay leaving us to hang our stuff out to dry on the upstairs patio. The washer water level adjustment knob doesn't work. And you have to unplug and plug back in the microwave to use it because it doesn't register when the door is closed, so it thinks it's still open and won't continue heating. So the washer, dryer and microwave all need replaced. The water runs occasionally on both toilets. The shower curtain in the master bath is moldy and hangs 6” too low. Oh, and don’t run any hot water before bed or you’ll have a hell of a time falling asleep: the pipes throughout the house make loud ticking, popping, and cracking sounds after the hot water gets running. The beach is beautiful and great for shelling, the mattresses were comfortable and Mary responded quickly to all of my text messages, but the bottom line is for almost $500/night, we were extremely disappointed and unfortunately have no plans to return.

Love Manasota Key

Wonderful stay with family... Got the beginning of a Hurricane on our last day. Love the shower in Master Bedroom. Very close to the beach from the house. We have visited other house of the owner Gina before.

Beautiful, peaceful

Beautiful views and a very quiet, peaceful location. The house is nice and well-maintained. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only inconvenience was that we had to buy some of the basic supplies as the property did not have them (dish soap, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, aluminum foil for baking).

Beautiful house and location

This was our first time to Manasota Key, and we didn’t know what to expect. The house was beautiful and the location was perfect! We had a little trouble with the door code but the property manager Debbie was very quick to respond and very helpful. This property is great and I would highly recommend it again

Beautiful Beach House

My family and I LOVED our stay at the Sunflower. The house was clean and well organized. Having the beach just steps away was very convenient. The beach wasn’t crowded at all and we enjoyed playing beach games each day. We also had gorgeous weather all week. The owners/managers were very helpful and quick to respond if we had questions. Thanks for a great week! We will definitely be back!
