3 Dog Mountain Retreat
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this beautiful, quiet chalet is the ideal spot for a peaceful retreat. This home is the perfect balance of rustic and modern with tons of natural light. Enjoy the natural tranquility with all the creature comforts you could want. Easily accessible on paved roads, this single level two-bedroom, two-bath home is less than a 2-hour drive from Atlanta, Asheville or Chattanooga. Located in Murphy, North Carolina between the Hiawassee River and Valley River, there is plenty to do in every season or just come to relax and take in the mountain views. Unwind in front of the cozy fireplace with a book or play a game on the arcade. The kitchen is well appointed with everything a chef could ask for. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, large walk in closet and en-suite bathroom with separate vanities and a large tiled shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the sofa in the den is a queen pull out bed. Both bedrooms have large televisions, plenty of storage and French doors that lead out to the deck. The outdoor space includes a large dining table, gas grill and foosball table as well as an inviting sectional with lots of room to spread out and take in the clear night sky. We guarantee that your pups will love playing in the large fenced-in yard while you sit around the firepit.
The house is conveniently located 15 minutes from quaint downtown Murphy with its many shops, restaurants and movie theater. Harrah’s Cherokee casino is there as well. Other nearby attractions include John C. Campbell Folk School, Two Crows Alpaca Farm and tons of fishing and hiking options. There is a great hiking trail just steps from the house. Also nearby are miniature golf, canoeing and much more. Downtown Blue Ridge is just 25 minutes away.

Outstanding

Peaceful, quiet, 10 deer visited a few times. Spent every evening on the porch watching sun go behind mountains. Our 2 dogs were able to run around in the large fenced in back yard. Interior was immaculate. Centrally locked to different towns and many hiking trails. Hosts were kind answering my many questions within a few hours. One of the best places we have ever stayed.

Peaceful Weekend

We reserved this home with the intent of relaxation and watching wildlife... couldn't have selected better saw deer and hawks and the home was very peaceful.

Us and our pup had the best stay here. It was the perfect location to get to both blue ridge and murphy and had the perfect relaxing backyard with mountain views. We will be back for sure!

The best there is!!

This was our second stay at this cabin and just like the first time it was amazing! We live in Florida and had to reschedule our trip because we are both firefighters and we’re mandated to stay at work for the hurricanes. The owners were super understanding and helped us reschedule our annual family vacation. We travel to the north Georgia area 1-2 times a year and have stayed at numerous cabins in the area and can say without a doubt this is the best one around!! We don’t have dogs I’m actually allergic to them and I can tell you there is zero smell or dog hair in the cabin. I don’t know who they use for cleaning but they do an amazing job! Our favorite part of this cabin is the back yard for our two boys ages 2 and 6 to play and run around. The location is perfect, it’s only a 15 min drive to downtown blue ridge and everything else is close. The drive up the mountain is a lot better than most cabins. Book the cabin!! I promise you will not regret it!!!

Did not disappoint

We loved everything about this house. The Randy has the house stocked with everything you could possibly need including a welcome book with food and attraction ideas, tv instructions and so much more. The yard is very large and fully fenced in with a tall fence. We will be back for sure.

Worth every penny!

My husband and I brought our two dogs for a few days of relaxation. To see our dogs thoroughly enjoying the fenced yard, we don't have one at home, was worth every penny. Whether they were running around or just laying down soaking up the sun, they were happy and that made us happy. One of our dogs wasted no time finding a toy in the basket of dog toys in the Master Bedroom closet. He was so proud of himself. The chalet was exactly as described. Very clean. It's so peaceful outside. My husband loved cooking on the gas stove. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and cookware. There's even a crockpot! We brought our own because we've never stayed in a rental property that provided a crockpot. The only issue we had was the mattresses on both beds were too soft for our backs. But everything else about this property is absolutely great! Thank you Deborah and Randy for letting the four of us enjoy your beautiful house.

Relaxing Getaway

This is a beautiful property that feels remote but is only 15 minutes from Murphy. You won’t need to leave once you arrive because everything is provided for a relaxing getaway. Bring your groceries and chill! The cabin is so clean and comfortable you won’t want to leave.

Perfect Mountain Getaway with the Pups!

This is the one. If you are looking in this area and have dogs (or even if you don’t) this is the home to book. I say home, because this isn’t just a house. This is a cozy, safe, escape from reality (such as hurricanes). The hosts are easy to reach, have provided every little touch you can think of, the home is spotless (despite being incredibly dog friendly) and well cared for. Everything was easy to use or access, even our departure was easy, and since we left in the middle of the night we appreciated not too many instructions. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed every minute of their stay from toys to dog beds to the huge wonderful fenced yard. We felt very safe letting them run around and play. We took lots of walks in the pretty neighborhood, there’s even a trail! Watched deer right outside the windows and enjoyed many hours of the absolutely stunning view. We had no issues with anything, the welcome book explained things perfectly. We needed to extend a night due to hurricane Milton and the hosts were so wonderful and accommodating, we can’t thank them enough for sparing us from trying to find a hotel to accommodate us and our dogs. The roads to the house are all paved and easy to navigate. It’s very quiet and I’m not sure how they do it but the home didn’t smell at all, not like fake perfume, not like dog, just fresh nothingness. That’s how you know it’s really clean. Anyway, we have to agree with all the previous reviewers, 5 star all the way. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing Trip

This is our 2nd trip to this AMAZING home and it was just as GREAT as our 1st time! Murphy is a great little town & the people and restaurants there are great. We have a Golden Doodle & a mini Sheepadoodle and they are right at home here The house is perfect & they really have thought of EVERYTHING that you could possibly need! We can't wait for our next visit Randy & Deborah are fantastic Hosts

Great little cabin in the woods

This cabin has something for everyone…a beautiful view, deer and birds that visit daily, a walking trail nearby, and fire pit for people who enjoy nature to an arcade, WiFi access, and tv in the room for those who prefer technology. It’s great for dogs with a fenced backyard, toys for them to play with, hardwood floors, and dog beds. It had everything our family needed. If we couldn’t find something, we asked and they quickly responded. The cabin was true to the description and more. I highly recommend it!

Perfect Mountain Getaway for People and Pups!

Our week at this cabin was absolutely delightful! Tucked away in the serene mountains outside Murphy, it provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Despite the heat, one of our favorite spots was the outdoor deck, where we spent mornings sipping coffee and evenings watching the stars. The cabin was exceptionally well-appointed for people and pups. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals, and we enjoyed the fire pit (wood provided) and the indoor and outdoor games. Our dogs had an incredible time too, thanks to the securely fenced yard where they could explore freely. The cabin provided everything for our furry companions – from comfortable dog beds and bowls to muddy paw towels and even squeaky toys! The flashlights, rain jackets and "waste station" made it evident that the owners truly care about their four-legged guests. We loved the neighborhood walking trail and discovering nearby lakes and hiking trails. The nearby town of Blue Ridge is charming with lots of cute shops and restaurants – perfect for a leisurely stroll and a delicious meal. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway in the mountains with all the comforts of home (and then some!), look no further than this wonderful cabin.

A wonderful Cabin in the Mountains

This cabin is spectacular! We stayed for a week and were sad to have to say goodbye. My dogs loved the large fenced yard! Everything was just PERFECT! I would highly recommend this property in Murphy NC. The hosts were wonderful as well.

Perfection

We enjoyed ALL the comforts of home while on our vacation getaway. From the beautiful house and location, to the peace and relaxation, we were thoroughly able to get away and reset. We spent all weekend reading, taking naps, sitting by the firepit and taking in the gorgeous Mountain view. It was perfect to celebrate my son’s birthday and bring our pup, Gracie.

Best vrbo for R&R!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at 3 Dog Mountain Retreat. It was a heavenly week of R&R for us and our pups! It was a gorgeous set-up with plenty of space for everyone to relax - inside and out. We enjoyed the lounge furniture on the deck and fell asleep out there in the evenings a few times! They've thought of everything need for you and your pup(s) which was fantastic! We would definitely book again!

Beautiful dog-friendly cabin getaway

We stayed here for the week for our six year wedding anniversary and brought our doggo with us for the stay. Our dog really enjoyed the fully fenced in backyard to roam around and explore. We loved everything about the cabin, from the spacious shower to the gas stove/range. The smart TV with all the saved movies on the DirecTV DVR offered plenty of entertainment options. Also, while not specifically related to the cabin, the Chinese restaurant in town (So’s Good) is sooo good! The hosts really go out of their way to make you feel at home in their cabin. They even have a basket of dog toys for your doggo (we bought a few new ones from the Beall’s in town to add to the collection when we left). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider staying again for a future vacation.

Great stay at awesome cabin

The cabin was very nice. It was in a convenient location to our family in the area. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard. I would highly recommend this cabin. We will definitely visit again.
