About this property

Oceanside Chatham - walk to Town, Beaches and CBI

This exquisitely furnished, charming Cape Cod house is within an easy walk of Chatham's beaches, Fish Pier, Lighthouse, Town Center, outdoor Band Concerts, spa, and fine restaurants. We have deeded rights to water via our private path. 4 swimming beaches are within an easy walk.

It's just a few minutes' walk to The Chatham Bars Inn, golf, spa, tennis facilities and world-class restaurants.

The home sits on nearly an acre (double lot) and has a huge back yard with organic vegetable and flower gardens. The home is well equipped and well maintained and is situated in what is perhaps Chatham's most desirable location, just a short walk to the Chatham Light and Beach.

Fishing, whale watching, boating, and ferries to Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard are all available nearby.

Bedrooms include a master with Sleep Number split-king, and second bedroom with oversized twin set. Bedrooms three and four have trundle twins.

On the property, we have the main house, garage, workshop, rusting bedroom at the side of the garage (teens and preteens), garden shed. We also have a historic windmill (under restoration, vacant, and not part of any rental).

We have nearly all 5-star reviews, with well over a decade of hosting small families.

We are happy to provide further information and answer any questions you may have.

Heavenly Escape in the Cape

Beautiful property located walking distance to the beach and downtown. Robert and Ellen are wonderful hosts - so responsive and accommodating. My dog loved the big back yard - plenty of space to run and play outside or just sit and enjoy the view. It was the perfect getaway to unplug and enjoy time with my family. We had an amazing time, we will definitely be back soon!

Beautiful Home, Wonderful Location

Our family of four had a wonderful week at this lovely home. Walked down the short path to the rocky overlook each morning to enjoy the view, walked down the road to the beach and town, kayaked at Oyster Pond, and biked on the rail trail that runs from Chatham to Wellfleet. The house itself was perfect for us and our two adult children. My husband and I loved the spacious master suite. We also loved the sun porch and huge lawn, plus the organic garden where we helped ourselves to delicious tomatoes. We did not use the downstairs bedroom with the daybed because the main entrance/exit from the house (that has the code to lock/unlock the house) opens onto that room, so the room felt more like an entryway to us. This wasn’t a problem for us because our kids were happy in the two upstairs bedrooms. A minor issue was that the king-sized bed in the MBR is actually two twins pushed together, making a divide in the middle which my husband and I didn’t love. But other than that, we enjoyed everything about this house, especially the sense of history and the excellent location. Robert was also very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Cape Retreat

The home is perfectly situated on close to an acre of exceptionally well kept and cared for land in a perfect location. The house is extremely well kept and equipped with everything you might need for a long stay. This was extraordinarily helpful given the pandemic and restrictions on local dining. It is an easy walk to town and the lighthouse area which alleviates parking issues and makes for great morning walks. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

Great location. Beautiful property.

Good family house. Ideal for maybe 2-4 adults due to bathroom bedroom ratio, and small kids.

The lawn and gardens are spectacularly beautiful.

We had a family of eight, representing three generations. Thus, we found the large living room a great common room in which to talk, read, and play with our infant grandchild. In addition, the room overlooking the gardens providing additional space for reading and watching television. The dining table, which sat 8 or 10 comfortably was an asset when we had friends visit for a dinner. We ate twice at Chatham Bars Inn, which is only two blocks a way, went on a marvelous sailboat ride out of Wequassett, enjoyed a seal watch boat ride in Chatham harbor, and arranged for cooked lobster from the Chatham fish pier, only a few blocks away. We also walked into town every morning and had coffee on the way, and most of us participated in Yoga on the beach at Lighthouse beach every morning. Several of us enjoyed the shopping in Chatham , which has unique shops, etc. The children especially enjoyed the beach, which is a National Preservation site located beyond Lighthouse beach.

Quintessential Cape Cod Experience

Our family and friends (Six Adults and Two Children) absolutely loved our experience staying at the Briggs House. We'd stayed at the Chatham Bars Inn in 2015, and wanted room for friends and more value so we ventured here. Coming from NYC, my three year old was thrilled with the football field of grass out back and we loved being able to walk to the center of town, multiple beaches and the Chatham Bars Inn Resort. As said in another review, this is a family home, its not appointed like a rental. It felt much more like having your favorite aunt/uncle allow you a week at at their Cape House. Robert couldn't have been better to deal with. We will definitely be back

A beautiful cape antique

The yard and grounds of this property are beautifully maintained. The location is perfect! An easy walk to Lighthouse Beach, Chatham Bars Inn and the town of Chatham. The house is cozy with many interesting antiques, old photographs and pictures. It was well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen and throughout. The pictures and description of the house accurately portray what you can expect.

We have owned this property since 1998. The property has been the family since 1930

We've rented our oceanside home in the summers for over a decade with every dime being reinvested in this family property. We hope our children and grandchildren will have the same opportunities given to us.

Our property maintenance manager has been with us for almost two decades. We are truly blessed to have great staff to help us maintain this wonderful home.

The location is simply amazing. We post every important detail about the property and provide heaps of recent photographs. There should be no disappointments.

Why they chose this property

Amazing Location, well maintained, deeded rights to Ocean's edge, 4 beaches nearby, walk to everything. Perhaps Chatham's most exclusive neighborhood.

What makes this property unique

Amazing location, great value compared to nearby resorts, very private, walking distance to almost everything. We have private beach rights. It's a wonderful family home where Cape Cod memories are easily made. Our guest reviews and guest book contain all 5-star reviews.
