Well Morning Star Lodge is one of those cabins that you'll never forget. This stunning 5-bedroom cabin is located just off Maitland road, only 5.5 miles from downtown Deadwood, and nestled on a sprawling 17 acres of wonderful forested property with hillside forest views. With being in the heart of the Northern Black Hills, you'll enjoy the proximity to the local ATV/Snowmobile trail systems, local restaurants and casinos, grocery stores, and even Spearfish Canyon with it's amazing hiking, waterfalls, and trout fishing! You'll also be within an hour's drive to Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park, and Sylvan Lake with so many fun things to see an do. Whether you're planning to visit to enjoy some local trail riding, some skiing at Terry Peak, nights on the town in Deadwood or just a relaxing peaceful weekend enjoying the view from the deck, Morning Star Lodge will make you feel at home.

After spending days enjoying the local scenery, coming home to your very own cabin will be the best part of your vacation. With over 3200 sq. ft. of beautifully decorated indoor space and 1600 sq. ft. of deck space, there's plenty of space for your group to enjoy the property. There's a larger 2 stall garage with plenty of room, and the main living area is a perfect entertaining space with an open kitchen area, living, and dining area. The living room has a wall of windows with a view of the forested property, that surround a cozy fireplace and large TV. The large master bedroom is on the main floor with attached bathroom as well! The large deck is easily access through the dining area and great for entertaining both indoors and out! On the lower level you'll find a fully custom, one-of-a-kind entertainment area and bar. Complete with comfy seating by the large TV, shuffleboard, a Foosball table, and a bar top like you've probably never seen before! There's a lot of great space on the lower level with a walk out patio to the covered hot tub as well, with a forest view!

The registers were full of dust, range hood super greasy, also there were hardly any shower or hot tub towels. The views and house are beautiful, just some minor things could have been done to make the experience better.

Memories in the Black Hills

Something for everyone, games, beautiful scenery for hiking and bird watching, close to all the activities the Black Hills has to offer. Would definitely like to go back again.

Awesome Cabin!

Our family had a wonderful stay here! It was perfect and met all our needs! Great location! Remote enough so we could experience the hills and close enough to town to get supplies, pizza and coffee! Host was wonderful in answer any questions we had Check in was easy! Beds were comfortable- Cabin was super clean! Highly recommend!

Great property!

We loved staying at this cabin. It was clean and had plenty of amenities for us to enjoy. We ran out of propane and the manager was quick to replace it for us! Would definitely recommend this cabin!

Great family vacation

The hime was beautiful. We loved the layout and the decor. The kitchen’s stock of dishes, pots and pans was ample. The kitchen’s layout was so useful that 2-3 people could cook, prepare and clean up at the same time. The lower level had the most beautiful bar we had ever seen. The living room and family room’s furniture was very comfortable. The back of the house’s windows snd deck allowed for a beautiful view of the black hills. It was a great property.

Great experience

This was a great cabin to stay in. Keep in mind it is not on paved roads. So if you're interested in keeping your car clean you might check else where. However, if you enjoy being in the wilderness with incredible views and wildlife this is the place to go. The cabin was clean and well kept when we arrived. Everyone loved the foosball table, shuffle board and hot tub. Actually had nice useable appliances unlike other cabins we've stayed in. Deadwood is an ok town to look around in. Not super family friendly but some activities are available. Overall a great vacation!

Was supposed to be able to get in by four didn’t get in until 530, they were still cleaning. Also tried to use the grill but the propane containers were empty. Also the grill was not cleaned.It was extremely dirty!!!!!

Christmas at the Cabin

The cabin has all of the comforts of home along with a beautiful view, spacious main area for gathering, comfortable beds and a 2 car garage. The kitchen had all of the cooking utensils and appliances needed to make our Christmas Dinner and more! The lower level game area with shuffleboard and foosball was great for the kids and the adults! Hot tub was clean and well maintained. You'll want to have 4 wheel drive if visiting in the winter. Management company was also good to work with. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and will definitely consider staying there again.

We were comfortable hanging out upstairs and downstairs around the bar. We loved that we could get in our side by sides and just leave from the house and get to Lead, Deadwood and the trails. Budi was great to work with. A few weeks before our trip we had a couple more people that wanted to stay with us but the house was full. I contacted Budi and he said they could park their motorhome on the driveway. They brought a generator and everything worked great. This was a great trip and we are already talking about going back next year.

Great Property

This is a beautiful home! We really enjoyed our stay there. Loved spending time on the patio grilling and drinking wine. Had daily visitors of deer and wild turkeys. Close to deadwood and lead. You will travel 2 to 3 miles on gravel roads with a couple of hairpin turns. We came to the Black Hills to ride our motorcycle so We kept our trailer in deadwood so we wouldn't have to travel the gravel roads on the motorcycle, but we knew this before we came. There were minor cleanliness issues: patio door had fingerprints, a few areas dusty, refrigerator wasn't very clean! Like I said, minor issues! We had trouble with the Wi-Fi when we arrived. Property manager was not helpful in resolving the issue. He responded to one question which didn't resolve the issue and didn't respond to any further messages. Finally found the house guest book that was hidden behind the TV on the mantle with the correct information. The property manager had given me the incorrect information in The check-in email. The check-in email also included the code to get into the garage, which makes me think if they don't update the Wi-Fi information in the email that they probably don't change the code to get in the house between guests. In every other VRBO I've stayed in, the code to get in the home has been the last four digits of my cell phone number. All in all, the home is beautiful and we would stay there again!

Beautiful property

This was a great get away for our family and a few friends. The master bedroom had a private bath and there were two other full baths for the other bedrooms. Very spacious house without being huge. The kitchen had adequate cooking equipment. Could use some extras like a strainer, a few more pots and pans, and a few more serving type dishes. Plenty of space in the pantry and refrigerator (full sized bonus refrigerator in the basement) and was clean. The game table was a lot of fun and the hot tub was well maintained but slightly on the small size. We couldn't get any TV channels, but could sign into our own Netflix and other streaming. Could use additional towels for use. Cabin sleeps 10 and there may have been 12-14 full-sized towels. Would like extra towels for the hot tub. The beds were very comfortable and very accommodating for days worth of luggage. Only a couple of extra blankets if there are non-couples in the group needing to sleep separate on the couch. The garage was excellent to store ski equipment and hang wet clothes to dry! The gorgeous views and peace and quiet will have you wanting another day. Thank you!
