Beautiful view and very spacious and clean cabin. Plenty of dishes and cookware. Wood was stocked for fireplace and it had 2 grills. We had a great time.
Everything thing was as advertised, a few small issues. Master bed had food crumbs under the sheets. We just washed them, also the master shower had a big clump of black hair in it. I believe the person who cleans the property, may have cut a few corners. Other then that the place was amazing! Did wonder why there was a big tree in the middle of the view, but again it was easy to move to one side other the other.
We had a wonderful time at the house. Excellent kitchen implements available! More bath towels would be nice. The grass and bushes need to be cut back. Windows need some TLC. Darker curtains in the master bed room would really be nice. The view was amazing!! On the 4th of July we witnessed an incredible view of numerous fireworks displays all across the mountains. The grill was fantastic! The children loved the pool too! The game room was truly enjoyed. We had a fantastic time!
Sweet Haven was great! Getting to ranger was a bit sketchy as for about 45-1hour you barely see anyone in the small towns. The resort was lovely parts of the road were steep which was a bit scary. Once we arrived to the home it was all worth it! The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking!
Private and secluded home with amazing views of the mountains and lake. It exceeded our expectations. The owner was quick to communicate and very helpful. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving there followed by a gorgeous hike only 20 minutes away. The wood burning stove was a fun bonus and there was plenty of room for my whole family.
We visited for Fall Break and loved the house. We had 2 teenage boys 17 & 13, and 4 adults. We had plenty of room for everyone. The views from the deck were amazing!!! We cooked all of our meals there - the kitchen was stocked well with cookware. We had a great visit and would definitely stay again. Only “complaint” is the grass needed cutting. It was a little long and we had my 77 yr old Mom and 78 yr old Aunt - it made me nervous not being able to see potential rocks etc that may make them trip. But nothing like that happened, just wish the grass was shorter for visibility.
Not only did the house and amenities exceed my expectations so did the host! By far the best experience I have had with renting a home. If you are looking for a mountain retreat with view this is the place. Our group really enjoyed the pool, basketball and tennis court.
The cabin is aptly named and was just right for our family. Wish the weather had allowed us to enjoy the deck. Plenty of windows; so we still enjoyed the beautiful view from inside. Cabin was well appointed and clean. Beds were very comfortable. We were plenty warm even though temperatures stayed below freezing for 2 days. We appreciated owner responsiveness before and during our stay especially since we were very nervous about the winter storm coming through.
Christmas decorations were a fun surprise. We would enjoy visiting again.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. It has unbelievable views of Carter's Lake and is close to the marina. This place is a great place for a large family, extended family or a large group. The owner responded within minutes each time I messaged him. The cabin was well stocked, clean and tastefully decorated.
It has a gravel road for access but I got there in a Honda Fit. It is doable but I wouldn't recommend it if you have a car that is low riding or you have lowered it a lot. There are plenty of bedrooms and my dad, who is 87, was able to walk from the gravel parking lot up about four or five steps. The main bedroom was conveniently located to the left of the entrance. If you are in a wheelchair, I would not recommend this cabin but he uses a cane and had no problems. I would only suggest more detergent for the washer and trash bags but this cabin was amazing. I can't recommend it enough. We had a great time as an extended family and also rented a boat. We had lunch at the marina before boarding. I would also recommend going to the park at the dam on the lake.
It was the perfect home away from home. Good communication from the owner and although we did not have any issues I feel as though they would have been taken care of immediately if we had.
This home was just perfect and you could not ask for a better view than what we had. Evenings watching the sun go down and mornings listening to the birds... this is a great place to go and escape the bustle of life and people. A must-stay if you are in the area. Even though we were there for work reasons, this was much like a needed getaway. Thank you so much!!
This cabin was perfect for my group of 10! Everyone had enough space and the views were to die for. Sev did a wonderful job preparing the cabin with everything we could need including spices, utensils, and appliances! We loved our stay!
We stayed here with our extended family; five adults, three kids (2 of them teenagers) and two small dogs. The stay was perfect and everyone has left with great memories. The views are excellent. It is peaceful and quiet. Plenty of room for everyone and the bedrooms are spacious too. The pictures do not do justice to the house or the views. The instructions to get to the place and at the place were clear and helpful. Getting in and out of the place was seamless. The kids played basketball and there is also other outdoor sports areas and a pool in the summer.
Things to be mindful of:
- the drive up to (and down from) the property once you are in the resort can get very challenging if it rains or snows, or ices, so be prepared for that. It is not too long a drive, so that helps.
- the kitchen has all the appliances, utensils, plates, glasses, etc. But it has bare minimums in terms of cooking stuff, so if you plan to cook, bring oil, sugar, etc.
- late fall/early winter you may want to bring extra blankets (we like it warm!)
- there is not much in terms of grocery shopping etc around the place. There is a gas station nearby for essentials. If you plan to go to the cabin and not venture out, pack your food.
We made great memories and had a wonderful time. I strongly recommend this place for those who are looking for some peace and quiet and good family time. I am sure it is also beautiful in the summer.
The family and extended family celebrated my grandmothers 82nd birthday! She enjoys front porch sitting so this was absolutely perfect with such an amazing view! Loved the porches and enjoyed cooking for the family while watching the sun rise and set. Our group had ages 2-82 and Everyone really enjoyed it. Fun for everyone
If you are looking to escape the craziness of life this is the place for you. The cabin is wonderful and the views are spectacular! Unlike some rentals the host provides paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and toiletries. However, after the summer months there is not much to do at the "resort". The roads are paved to the shared driveway, but the gravel drive is a steep hill that required our 4WD to get out of. I would reccomend bringing groceries when you arrive as the nearest grocery/fast food is at least 30 minutes away. We enjoyed our time at the cabin, and made many memories in the down stairs game room as well as hanging out on the decks admiring the amazing view. We would ESCAPE here again. Thank you for sharing your "SweeT Haven" with us!!
Beautiful views of mountains and lake. Decks were wonderful to sit out on, kitchen was stocked with all everything you can imagine. Plenty of towels, toiletries, and linens. We enjoyed our quick little getaway!
