This cabin is beautiful! The kitchen is well stocked and the location is peaceful and quiet while still being near town. We enjoyed dinner on the patio and watching gorgeous sunrises on the mountains. We highly recommend this cabin and hope to come again!
We've stayed in a lot of rentals, and this one is probably the only one that I haven't thought, "Oh, it needs this, or it should have that" We have friends in the area and we'll be back for sure!! Hopefully we can stay here again!
This property was great. Very remote, very roomy and exceptional in regards to experience, cleanliness, functioning amenities and very well equipped with every you need. It is quite an up hill drive late at night but that allows for great star viewing and very quiet nights on the deck. Come with everything you want to eat and drink as the there are no services until you get to Westcliff. Overall this place was awesome!
Blissfully quiet, tranquil, secluded, exceptionally clean, and just all-around beautiful! It was close enough to different activities such as rafting, hiking and the train ride out of Canon City. Breakfast out on the wrap-around deck and star gazing at night was delightful! We had a wonderful time and wouldn’t hesitate coming out again!
My friends and I had the privilege to stay at Dave’s beautiful cabin while we were in Westcliffe for my daughter’s wedding at the Three Peaks Ranch. Everything was perfect, especially being up high above the valley with beautiful surroundings. The house is very well appointed with beautiful artwork to boot. Warning: the two super duper comfy reclining leather chairs in the living room can cause you to easily fall sleep for hours :) Thanks for a great experience! Tony, Derek, and DJ
This beautiful home is well-stocked with a great library, games (board and electronic), movies and more to entertain guests. I particularly enjoyed the beautiful art adorning every wall as well the gorgeous pottery dishes provided for our use. Besides abundant comfortable seating on the large covered porches, there are chairs and tables scattered throughout the yard.
We had a lovely Christmas and had an enchanting and relaxing time. The property was clean and absolutely lovely. Property owner was very accommodating and helpful.
The cabin was amazing! Very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch every morning drinking coffee and watching the wildlife. We saw chipmunks, humming birds and deer. Inside the cabin was very nice. Every amenity you could ever need in the kitchen! The king bed was amazing. We made the short drive to Westcliffe daily and we also drove to Salida and Buena Vista. We loved the cabin and definitely will go back!
Had a fantastic week at Dave’s Cabin! It was all we hoped for and more. Everything about Dave’s Cabin is first class, the cabin, the view, the solitude and accommodations. Thank you Dave allowing us to spend a few days on your wonderful property!
We had an absolutely lovely stay. The house and grounds are beautiful and peaceful. Very easy check in and check out process, fantastic location for access to all the wonderful trails in the Sangre de Cristo mountains, as well as fascinating historical places to visit in the Wet Mountain valley. Very grateful to our hosts for having us!
This is the quintessential Cabin in the woods as stated in the description. This is a remote location about 20 minutes away from civilization. This made a great base for our explorations. Very nice to come back and not have to worry about others being "others" if you know what I mean. Overall, very nice place. The owner answered all of my questions almost immediately. If you are looking for a fantastic getaway, this is the place.
The cabin and location were perfect. Amazing views and peaceful. Everything was super clean and it was fully stocked as far as kitchen utensils, towels and bedding. We could not have asked for a better place in the area and cannot wait to return. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
The cabin is so lovely, and the kitchen is well stocked. Dave is very kind. We had a peaceful week away from our crazy life to just relax and enjoy the snow.
We loved our stay for Christmas and the place was perfect for our getaway. The views off the back porch were beautiful, the kitchen was fully stocked for all the meals we made, lots of games to play in the basement, and there were lots of options on the TV to choose from to watch each night. Dave was such a great host who provided lots of info for our stay and was very easy to reach during the stay. Because of the storm before Christmas and flight cancellations, we had 4 people not make it and he refunded some money to account for them not staying. I really appreciated him doing that because I know many hosts would not offer that. I’m hoping my family will make it out to Colorado another time so we can come back and stay here again!
Spacious cabin with all the amenities you could ask for. Great location and lots to do in surrounding area. Owner was great to work with. We will be back next year.
The well furnished western log home sits nestled in the Pines. You are surrounded by the beauty of nature and a view of the range. Morning can bring the surprise of snow up on the mountains or a rainbow in the changing light. It is a Colorado getaway at its finest. The steep drive up lets you know there is something great in store!
The cabin and property are absolutely beautiful, it’s a very quiet and peaceful place to stay. The town of Westcliffe is close by & Salida is only an hour away with white water rafting, off roading & Skiing at Monarch Mtn. The Wet Mountain Valley is a rare Gem in an increasingly crowded Colorado, the Sangre De Cristo Mtns are stunning & the dark sky’s make for great star gazing. David was a great host, the cabin was clean & his communication was great, we had a very nice stay.
The owner communicated everything with no surprises. Enjoyed our stay.

Why they chose this property
I searched for years along the Rocky Mountain range for a place like this. In the end I feel it had just enough of everything that I wanted. First and foremost the house. A bright and cozy log cabin home. Vaulted ceilings and a open main floor layout. Large enough to accommodate big families or gathering friends. Second is the 6 acre treed lot. That in combination with the private gated community and you have tons of privacy. The property has several unique rock formations worth checking out. Hikes or runs up and down the dirt roads within the community are fun too. Third is the location. This isn't a ski town, it's a ranching community. Therefore there are less people but more of the kind you'd want to know. The views from the house are nice but the views from the valley floor are even better. It all offers endless exploring.
