The house was immaculate upon arrival. Very surprising as it is nestled right into the woods so you would expect to be some bugs or dust/dirt from in and out of the doors. But, there was none. I loved the privacy of the location, but it was a short drive to everything. The outdoor space was really nicely set up and the hot tub is a great feature for the relaxing atmosphere we were looking for. Absolutely would recommend and will likely book again!
My ONLY suggestion that would have made our perfect stay a bit better would be if there were a fenced area for the fur babies that tag along. Just so that they can safely enjoy the outdoor space with us without needing a leash.
Well maintained home- clean and comfortable beds. Host was wonderful and helpful when needed. Worked great for us as a home base for JMU parents' weekend. Only cons for some people may be that it is on a gravel road and there is no TV.
The house was quaint and comfortable. The rooms were a nice size and it had a great kitchen. The outside area was cute too, but the grill definitely needed a good cleaning & the hot tub seemed like it needed an upgrade for a 10/10 listed property. It was a good central location to lots of things in the Shenandoah area. The lack of TV was a bit odd—I didn’t even notice it in the pictures because there was a cabinet, which I assumed housed a TV. It was my fault, but still…We booked during the Olympics and really missed being able to enjoy/watch those during our down time. It was a great place to bring a dog and a family, though, if you are looking to get away from it all.

We had a great stay at this house! We really enjoyed the amenities included, especially the fire pit, hot tub, and the games. The house was very clean and organized and we especially appreciated the s’mores kit the host provided.

Great location for Shenandoah National Park. Everything we needed and wanted. Would definitely recommend!
Was the perfect place to stay with family. The best part was the fire pit and hot tub. No tv was what my family needed and we didn't know it. I would absolutely stay again
We had a wonderful time celebrating my 30th birthday here. Upon arrival we instantly noted the cleanliness of the property! The fresh coffee beans were a huge plus and the s’mores gift basket was wonderful. The location was perfect as everything we wanted/needed was within 30min. Property owner was very communicative and check in and out was a breeze. All said and done it was a perfect vacation. PS. The mountaintop ranch sunset horseback ride is an absolutely amazing experience
Hillside hideaway was perfect! It’s in a great location to get into Shenandoah via the Swift Run entrance. Rhonda was an amazing host. Very attentive and responded to messages within 15 minutes. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to disconnect and relax.
I really appreciate the host working with me on dates and times of arrival. It made our stay so much more smooth. The house was so cute and nice and clean. We loved the smores package the host left for us. The hot tub was a hit as well. It was very close to all the Massenutten resort activities, which made it so convenient. I would love to come back in the future!
Wasn’t far from swim park and snow tubing , ate a t hank’s , enjoyed hot tub and beautiful back patio with fire pit , very quite , there is no tv which was perfect for us because we had a lot of other activities to do
Such a cute stay with wonderful amenities! The kids loved hanging out in the hot tub while the adults enjoyed a drink by the fire. Property was very clean and well maintained. Rhonda, the host, was very helpful with any and all questions. I appreciated the laundry area as we hiked and wanted clean clothes for the next leg of our trip. Thank you!
Perfect weekend getaway! It was a pleasant change to unplug from TV, internet, etc. We played games all weekend, sat around a fire, made s’mores, wonderful!!!!
Will definitely be back
This was a beautiful and cozy rental property! I was very impressed with the cleanliness, and how everything was very thoughtfully put together!
She has all of the basic spices for cooking, there are over 20 of them! Including cooking oil, all of the pots and pans and dishes that you would need. There was already filtered water in the fridge for us, and she left marshmallow sticks and all of the yummy fixings for s'mores!
The kids loved the tree swing, the hot tub, the board games, and the toys.
The property is tucked away in a beautiful wooded area, and you can see the mountains from the driveway!
My husband and I loved staying here so much that we will be returning next year to visit again!
Great little place to stay. We missed the comment about unplugging from the TV as we didnt realize that there was no TV nor Internet until we got there. Luckily there was good cell reception as i did need to take a work meeting.
Once that was over, we did unplug and had a good time. The restaurant recommendations were a nice touch too.
This little house is a great option if you want something a bit secluded, but not too far from restaurants, stores etc in McGaheysville and Elkton. Also convenient to recreation opportunities of the SNP and Shenandoah River. Well kept property and nice amenities - would definitely consider coming back.
