The wife and I had a blast at this farm stay. We are both animal lovers, so we were excited to be able to stay here. The alpacas, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, and emu were all very friendly. Walter and Andy were very welcoming and Nikki provided great check-in instructions. If I am passing through, I will be sure to stay here again.
This is the second time we have stayed at the property it was even better than the first time! It was awesome to see all of the changes and meet the new animals! 10/10 will be coming back again!
We knew there would be animals but didn't realize just how many. It was really incredible going around with all of the alpacas and mini horses and pigs. Really a great option for us on our SD to Denver road trip.
We had a great time! Perfect 2 bedroom and lots of fun interacting with the animals. No issues with the emu :). Bring some fruit and veggies to feed the animals.
Ok - I would have liked to have known there was a larger rental attached to ours. There were nice people/large group next to us in the large rental that was partying and pretty loud and could hear them through the walls for an hour or 2 after going to bed.

Not what I thought it would be
I've read some reviews about the check in process, and unfortunately it was pretty accurate. I had to reach out to the host for check in directions and it took a while for them to respond. Once I got them, they answered the phone and told me where to park which was fine. It's important for you to know that this isn't a very private place. There were always cars/motorcycles/other adults coming and going and walking around outside. I believe there were other people staying in the attached house too, who were yelling at night outside. Lastly, the locks on the patio doors do not work, and you need to use a provided wooden dowel to "lock" it which I had to contact the property manager to find out about. My son enjoyed feeding grapes to the animals and the space itself was fine. I just wouldn't come here again (and I grew up on a farm!).
Very very nice place i would recommend. Very clean. Very sympathic owner . Very easy to find . Very very quiet . Animals are so cute and numerous. A place we strongly recommend
Tres tres bon logement que nous recommendons. Tres propre. Proprietaire super sympas . Tres facile a trouver grace aux explications recu quelques heures avant notre arrivee. Tres calme. Les animaux sont geniaux !! Les enfants ont adoré
Very nice house. You can walk to a river and enjoy petting some very friendly animals...just watch out for the emu. It stands about 6 ft tall and as we were leaving it was aggressive towards our young kids. Once I got them safely in the car I nearly had to fight it as it rushed at me till I was able to make it into the car.
Frustratingly the emu doesn't have its own cage and roams freely right outside your door while you stay there.

Good stay, rough start
This property was clean and comfortable, and really awesome to see and interact with all the animals! After reaching out to the owner, we got good directions and were told to call when we arrived. We called and the guy who answered seemed very put out. Make a note that there are TWO places to stay on this property and it’s a good idea to know which one you’re staying in when you call. I was not aware of this and he was very frustrated that I didn’t know. He was borderline rude. We were able to sort everything out and after that, our stay was quite pleasant. There’s another gentleman who works on the property who is nice and friendly. It’s quiet and peaceful and the animals are a hoot.
Loved all the animals who came to visit, especially the Pot Belly Pigs. Spacious and clean. Very relaxing sitting on the porch at night. Loved being able to walk down to the river. Walter was such a big help and very fun to talk to and learn about the animals and the area. Hope to make it back soon.
This was our second time staying here! This is one of our all-time favorite stays, and we hope to continue coming back annually as part of a road trip to festivals in southern Colorado. We enjoyed spending time with the animals (although we are still are learning how to approach the emu lol), spending time in the garden, fishing in the private lake, and walking around the property. Would 150% recommend staying here alone, with friends and family, with kids... I think this is an experience anyone would enjoy. Additionally, the caretakers of the animals are super kind and obviously care a TON.

Grand Junction
Reasonably priced, good location, and property was just as advertised.
Communication with owner wasn’t great. Through mixup, the information about how to access house didn’t load, and it took a full 24 hours for response.
When we did arrive, I Called a number as instructed in the check in, but there was no answer and the mailbox was full. Luckily an animal caretaker came by and showed us around.
The house key was missing, but when I told the owner he shared everything was safe and not to worry. Everything was safe, but as a female traveling with a child, it didn’t feel great.
No AC, and it isn’t listed as having any. It didn’t register when I booked in January, but in 100 degree July heat it was a definite bummer.
Animals roaming around was a plus.
This is a special, unique VRBO experience. Peaceful, a little rustic, clean, and perfect for animal lovers.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom apt (attached to the bigger house) and were delighted by the views of Grand Mesa and Mount Garfield in the morning and evening. We also loved hanging with (and feeding) the adorable heard of alpacas, smiling pot-bellied pigs, friendly goats, emu, peacocks, and mini-horses.
There are several rental spots spread out on this beautiful, high-dessert, 10 property. It’s fun to see the animals cooling in the small ponds and we enjoyed beautiful walks to the rock beach right on the CO River - where you can take a dip to cool off (water shoes make it easiest)!
Other guests were friendly and respectful of privacy. The owner has a house on site by the river and we enjoyed chatting with Walter, the friendly and helpful property manager. Outside amenities included a charcoal grill, solo stove, and outdoor seating located all around the property.
The apartment interior was a little rustic but clean with comfortable beds and working washer/dryer. We felt welcomed and safe (they have exterior video cameras on the property and a driveway gate).
Highly recommend this property if you like unique VRBO experiences/adventures!
My husband and our three teenage daughters stayed one night on this property and LOVED it. My girls would have loved to stay another night feeding all the animals and snuggling the chickens. LOL. We will be back with the rest of the family in tow!
We had a very nice stay. The location was convenient to the Dominguez-Escalante NCA and state park with a swimming beach. The farm animals on the property were fun to visit with and pet. We enjoyed our stay.
This rental was an awesome experience for us! My kids loved playing with all the animals and it was just an overall relaxing and laid back experience we had. Definitely would go there again for my next vacation in that area.

Loved the animals and animal caretaker
The owner/ manager was the most sarcastic person I ever dealt with. When I called with a question he answered with inappropriate language. When we got there he was sarcastic and rude. Thank goodness the animal caretaker was so welcoming. He asked us if we had an orientation. He explained everything and took my son to get fresh eggs from the chickens and we met all the sweet animals. The house was nice except for the extra firm beds.
Absolutely loved the land and the animals the property manager was fantastic!! If we had any questions we called and he picked right up! 110% recommended and we will come back!!
Cute and simple. Exactly what we needed for the inside but I can't even begin to explain how beautiful and charming the whole property was! Baby pigs, an emu named Moo-Moo, alpacas, goats and three beautiful big dogs made the week! There were other animals on the property also but we had limited time due to work hours. The property owner was on-site and very friendly. Walter, the groundskeeper was very helpful and fun to talk to. He told us a lot about the different animals. Such a special place.
