This is our second year to stay here. We love this home and it’s convenience to all the dining and shopping on Main Street, which is a is walking distance. This is our home away from home!!!!
We had a wonderful time at the Herren House. It met the needs of our children, spouses, and grandchildren very well. Nice to be so close to downtown Waynesville.
My step son's wedding took place is the Blue ridge Mountains. We found this house as a great family "compound" during the weekend. It was convenient and gave each one of us private space while having a great room to get together at the end of each day.
The property is walking distance from the city; beautiful around Christmas time with very good privacy yet very homey. We like the industrial kitchen but love the historical home feel.
Unless you are familiar with a commercial kitchen…dine out. Downtown is full of great restaurants. House is just as described, no surprises. Good spot for a large group
The house is perfect for our family. The bedroom and bathroom layout is ideal. It is a block from the center of town. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants with ease. We especially enjoyed the wrap around porch, it was so nice to sit outside with a cup of tea and enjoy the morning air. It is very close to so many places as well, Asheville, Pigeon Forge, and even Bukees!
We've stayed here before in an individual room and rented the entire house this time for our family gathering. The host has always been quick to respond to questions and willing to help. It's a lovely house just a couple of blocks from the cute downtown. With 7 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, plus a couple of extra bathrooms, it served us well. We had a great time.
The house was nice and clean. Clawfoot tubes were a little bit of a problem getting in/out of. The big fridge that said for staff only had a bad smell to it. Somebody open the door and there was a large old salad in it. .
My family and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving in Waynesville staying at the Herren House. There was enough room for all of us, each bedroom had a bathroom which was nice not having to share. Having no TV's we played games and enjoyed each others company. Location is great, a block from the town. The host was ready to answer all my questions if needed, check in was great. The kitchen needed some updating, we managed to cook Thanksgiving dinner but had to search for lot of things needed to cook.
Second time for staying at Herren House. Perfect location, easy to walk to downtown Waynesville. Walked to Main St daily for shopping and great Orchard Coffee. Property super spacious and super clean!
This house worked great for our large family. Everyone had their own space and the common areas were large enough to hang out together. Easy access to downtown Waynesville and the surrounding areas. Did not expect a commercial kitchen and once we adjusted it worked for us. We would stay again.
Very Impressive accommodation located in the heart of town
We were very impressed with the property. Plenty of space for a large group of people. Every room has its own bathroom on-suite. The location is near the heart of downtown, with plenty of shopping, restaurants, breweries, and bars within walking distance. A nice private courtyard to relax in or a wonderful large wrap-around porch. Plenty of parking. Overall an excellent choice.
We held a family reunion in the Waynesville area (Cold Mountain). 9 of us stayed in the Herren House. This was an excellent place to stay and receive visits from other family members who lived in nearby North Carolina locations. The dining room and living room and porch provides excellent space for small group conversations and there was ample onsite parking space.
There were 9 of us so we rented the entire house for our stay. We had access to the kitchen/fridge. Great location to walk to downtown. Would have enjoyed more porch furniture. There are no tvs in the home which forced us to talk to each other….a lost art :) We all had a great time!
Booked the whole house for New Years. We wanted to visit when town was still decorated for Christmas. Waynesville did not disappoint but house was not decorated for Christmas. House was comfortable for us. Location is absolutely perfect and within walking distance to downtown shopping, coffee shops and restaurants. Only issue we had was not crazy about all the lights and door locks on timers as we had 2 younger children and couldn't close doors without them locking. Kitchen is commercial and not matching any historical charm but usable. Even though it did not have as much Historical charm we were hoping for, it had exactly what we needed. I would definitely return!
We were delighted with the Herron House! Our family was able to visit our loved ones comfortably and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. To be able to walk downtown and get to any place in Waynesville with ease was a plus! We filled up the house and felt like we had plenty of room. Thank you for prompt answers to each question and for making check-in a breeze.
The house is at ideal location for people who wants to be close to downtown ,house has large porch for just sitting and visiting with friends ,we took extra chairs with us that allowed all of us to be able to do this ,house has large dinner table that allowed us to eat together and play cards and games later in the evening . House was clean and we enjoyed our time there.
