Overall simple and clean cabin in the woods. Good communication from the host. The listing accurately depicts the cabin interior. The bed was comfortable, nice linens, and very clean. Like some others mentioned, it was a bit close to the neighbors so if you want total privacy its not the place for you. But we lucked out and the place was pretty empty. My only suggestions would be to add a picnic table (or something) on the large deck for outdoor dining (there is a table, no chairs). Also the carpet in the bathroom is a little odd. But otherwise it suited us for our needs and we were happy with it overall... one other thing I'd like to point out is cell reception is spotty, so don't wait to get there to look up the instructions to get into the cabin (like I did :P). Save a screen shot in your phone prior.
We didn't realize how close the cabins were to each other, but they were still very private. We appreciated the snacks and drinks left for us. They respond quickly depending on the time of day. The gas lighter on the grill was missing a battery, but we were able to take care of it and cook on it without needing to ask the manager. The drawers in the bathroom had hair in them. Aside from that, the fireplace was really nice. The kitchen was clean and the dining table was comfy. I liked the map in the table. The porch had a great view and all the seating inside and out was really comfy. The cabin had a very home-like feel to it. We did quite enjoy our stay overall and would come back another time.
Nice little cabin, pics of property in ad are a good representation of the property. The sound from the river is incredible to sit on the back deck and listen to. Would easily be 5 stars if the parking and roads were good. Don't recommend motorcycles, we struggled on ours.
These cabins have your basics covered. Bed was comfy, nice view of the woods from the deck/porch. Parking is a little snug, but manageable. Rental price was competitive.
Spacious large cabin with deck near New River Trail in beautiful setting surrounded by trees. All the amenities of home; regular and Keureg coffeemaker, gas grill, stove, fridge , microwave, comfortable bed, TV in living room and bedroom. Owners(on-site) came by to be sure we had everything we needed. The only reason I gave a 4 for location is the narrow road in and out of cabins and parking is tight. Would stay here again!
It was everything we had hoped for. The location was perfect. Not far from surrounding cities and a lot of activities for the family. As well as being secluded for when you just want to stay in.
Our cabin was clean and comfortable with a view of the woods. Loved the large covered porch swing where I enjoyed my morning coffee, listening to the sound of birds and the river just down the ridge. My 13 year old and I hiked down the ridge a short 10 minutes or so and connected to The New River Trail. Turn RIGHT onto the trail to cross a small bridge with a lovely little waterfall and then go another 50 or so feet. You will find a small trail that leads right to the river and a gorgeous view!
My friends and I were on a grand adventure, bike packing from Harrisonburg, VA to Abingdon, VA when a big storm was forecast to hit around Fries, VA. We found Riversong Cabins on VRBO last minute and were able to book a cabin. It turned out to be one of our most favorite places we stayed during our 11 day adventure.
The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a couple of meals. The front porch was my favorite place to hang out and listen to the river and the birds.
The property manager is on site and she went above and beyond her role to make us feel at home. She not only took care of our spoken needs - she anticipated what we might need and took care of that as well.
I highly recommend this place. But please note - if you are riding a bicycle to this cabin - there are some monster hills to climb to get there. :)

The Cabin Was super clean and the staff on hand was helpful with area locations and the park trail information. We had a great time enjoying the area and exploring the park
We were passing through Fries on the way to the East coast and looking for somewhere to lay our head for the night; didn’t need anything too fancy. We expected the cabins to be rustic but in fact they are VERY comfortable. Beds are wonderful, I would say hotel quality, there was a large TV in the living room and another in the master bedroom. Cabin was beautifully clean, with crisp white towels for the bathroom. As you can probably tell, we were very impressed with the quality and the little touches. Thanks got a great stay!
