Cabin Review

The cabin was very clean! The beds were honestly awful. They were the worst thing about the trip. Also, the water smells like sulfur. But overall it was a great trip.

Cabin in the woods

Great cabin! About 25 min to gatlinburg or pigeon forge. You will have some cell reception with AT&T and Verizon, but don’t expect to send any large files. Cabin was clearly marked and easy to find, although I would suggest a truck for the winter time in case of snow to make it up the road. The only negative thing I would say is, the downstairs bed is very uncomfortable. Other than that it was great and I would stay there again!

Not water front

I chose this property because it said river front, you cannot even see the river from the property, that was extremely disappointing. No WiFi was unexpected and not inconvenient. No hangers in the closets and nowhere to put cloths, one very small night stand with drawers. One small 2 person couch to sit on in living area. Satellite tv was very inconsistent. We also came home one night with a bear in the driveway, the garbage can is not bear-proof, no way to secure the garbage so we had to keep it in the cabin all week, this is dangerous for people and the bear.

Would never stay there again

We stayed 10/8/21 to 10/10/21. The address provided takes you to a group of cabins. We went to the cabin listed as 3407 and while typing in the unlock code, someone else opens the door. Thank god I wasn’t shot! We walked up the steep hill to another cabin which had another address and we’re able to type in the unlock code and enter our cabin. For them to charge a cleaning fee, the cabin was not clean. Bedding was nasty. Cobwebs and spiders everywhere. Water smelled of sulfur. I was told that if they knew it was that bad, they could have had someone come out a bleach the water. I tried to use the jetted tub upstairs and black mold shot out of the jets. Even the hot tub smelled of sulfur..but according to management, that’s normally how well water smells. I live in west Tn and my family owns a well drilling business and NEVER has water smelled that disgusting. I have pictures of all the problems but unable to attach them. I spoke with the manager and was told nothing could be done since I called after our stay. DO NOT STAY HERE!! It also took over a week of calling and numerous voicemails to actually talk to someone.

Enjoyable Location

My brothers and I stayed here in early March for a fishing trip. The location is great if you are looking for a relatively remote cabin. It really is right next to the river and the hot tub is nice on the porch. Could probably fit 2-3 cars in the drive way. Appliances are nice, there was no pan to cook on when we showed up. No internet but Verizon had service if you need your phone. TV has cable. We had trouble finding the right cabin. Some of the cabins have the same number but different title like river rush and river ridge. Upon arrival in the cabin we started seeing wasps flying around inside the cabin and some that had already died and were on the ground by the couch. I called the customer service number and explained exactly were the wasps were and how many we had seen. I was told maintenance would come out and take care of it while we were at dinner in town. We arrived back after dinner and the wasps were still everywhere, maintenance had either not shown or did nothing. We spend a few hours spraying the wasps ourselves and counted more than a dozen. The next morning I got stung on the back of the neck leaving the cabin front door. I sent an email asking for some kind of reimbursement. I sent the email on Wednesday night and we checked out Sunday, no one ever got back to me with the email. The manager said the email address is monitored daily. Almost 48 hours after I had made the phone call on the first night an exterminator showed but to the cabin and sprayed something around the outside of the cabin. After we had checked out of the cabin I finally called the manager and received about a 20% refund from the total cost.

I would only make a three changes

The cabin was very clean and in a very quiet area. The beds were a little too hard, but didn’t take away from our stay. The outside garbage can needs a animal proof storage bin. We had a nightly visitor that tried to get in the can even with it between the 2 rocking chairs. We ended up bringing the van inside just so he didn’t get lucky and make a mess. It would be nice to have WiFi, but again this was not something that took anything away from our stay. Over all it was a very peaceful and relaxing week in the cabin.

It was great minus the bed was uncomfortable & only one tv remote worked.

It was a great stay. Very clean. But the bed down stairs was uncomfortable. The bed upstairs was great! Only one of the tv remotes work. Other than that it was a great stay!

Worth it!

Cabin was overall lovely and the location was nice! The only issues we had would be they didn’t leave any items to clean up. No broom, no extra trash bags (we only had one). (Staying five days we would like to be able to sweep at least) The beds could use some upgrading.. they are very stiff and uncomfortable. My husband says that’s the worst part of the whole Cabin. I think it’s silly to have a roku tv and not offer Wifi. Granite, we were on vacation so we weren’t spending much time in the cabin but a nightly movie would’ve been lovely! Cable was offered but didn’t have many children friendly shows at night. Other than that, we were no more than 20 mins from any of our activities but far enough away from others to have a peaceful time.

The Cabin Tow

The main issue in the cabin is the gravel in the front of the property where guests will use it to park, turn or reverse in. In turn they will more than likely to get stuck unless it is an all wheel drive vehicle, I myself have a truck and could not get myself free of the sunken gravel. Also, due to the gravel we needed assistance to get free and continue pack to check out the next morning. We contacted the after hours night cabin receptionist or property manager and she directed us to the maintenance man of the properties; his name is Eric, he told us he was not responsible for the parking area just the cabin and he could not help us. The cabin receptionist or manager also told us she would check up on us the next morning in case we still needed assistance but failed to do so. We then called OUR own insurance who had to direct us to a third party towing company to help solve the issue, which we also had to pay $125 for. We never contacted by anyone after the incident. The property is beautiful; the amenities listed on this property not so reliable. No washer or Dryer, the Dish Network did not work in the living room, and we anticipated no WiFi but would have brought some DVD’s. The cabin is beautiful; but it needs more attention before you keep allowing guests to plan a long distance vacation at this particular property or property group. For the amount we spent on our stay and the issues we encountered, this may not be a recommendable place to stay at.
