Hands down my familys first time up that way and linda and david where thr sweetest people in the world! Between making us home made vread the first night, to letting our children feed the deer with them right out back. We will definitely be going back!
David and Linda were wonderful. They knew why we had come to their little town in New Hampshire and did everything they could to help us find what we needed. We loved talking to them and the lodging that they provide was large and very comfortable. We have stayed in many VRBO properties and their's was the best ever.
Property was right on the line of Pittsburg and easily to find. Owners were a pleasure and very welcoming, also offered our children to feed the deer that come onto the property. The apartment was very clean and provided everything we needed for the weekend. Would definitely stay again.
Our hosts let us come up several hours early and greeted us as they were getting our apartment ready. They were very accommodating for us and made us feel like family. We will definitely be back up to stay again! Thank you David and Linda for a wonderful weekend. Al and Lisa
We had a lovely stay. I hadn’t seen my granddaughter in quite some time due to the pandemic. We enjoyed walking the trails behind the property. We saw lots of frogs in the frog pond. The owners were very kind and accommodating and the property is beautiful. The weather was some of the best I’ve enjoyed over the years. Pittsburg is where I grew up and home to me. This stay felt very much like home. David shared some stories of my grandparents while taking us on a tour of the trails. Linda offered us walking sticks and use of the grill.
I would stay again in a minute!
Great place. Good size, very spacious. Hosts were awesome. Communicated ahead and during stay.
Hosts live on property. Very knowledgable about the area. Quite, secluded feeling but close to town and outdoor things to do.
We did hiking to waterfalls, brought kayaks for local lakes but never did. All had boat ramps. We didnt do atv, but trail signs everywhere and trails looked good.
We really enjoyed the stay there! Our Hosts David and Linda were very nice to deal with and very friendly hosts. The apartment rear entrance along with the large area for trailer parking made it simple for our group. Nice Clean and quiet location along with close proximity to town is great for the snomobile season.
The apartment was great. It was so clean and comfortable. We had our family of four with plenty of space. Location was great. we were happy with our choice and would recommend and definitely stay again. Owners are extremely nice and accommodating.

About the host
Hosted by David and Linda Chappell
This property was purchased by Linda's grandmother in the 1940s. Each summer, she would come visit grandma, and as time went on she married David who grew up "just around the corner". David worked as the Dam Controller for Murphy Dam on Lake Francis for over 30 years.
Why they chose this property
This property has been in the family for three generations. Grandma purchased it originally to house the men working on the Lake Francis dam project. Over the years, the house has undergone many updates and upgrades. From Grandma to Dad the house was expanded and updated. Dad loved perennial flowers that bloom throughout the summer. He even built his own covered bridge on the property. Linda and David added nature trails in the woods behind the house. Please come enjoy your privacy or visit with real locals. Take an opportunity to learn more than you ever cared to know about Murphy Dam and Lake Francis!
What makes this property unique
Private location, yet within walking distance to town. Owners live on site in the main house. "Locally owned and operated" could not be more true.
