This house was excellent, the kitchen was well appointed the common areas were very comfortable for the entire group to get together at the end of our day. The location on the lake is beautiful. We had a wonderful time.
This is our second time staying, and the second time was just as good as our first. Great location, beautiful home, had everything we could possibly need and Kurt was always available to answer any questions. Will be back again for the third year in row! Also, rented his boat this year and had a blast!
We really enjoyed our week at this lake house! It had everything we needed for our group of 11. The outside space was fantastic and we spent many hours swimming and soaking up sun on the lounge chairs. The private beach access had a sandy area and the lake was shallow which was perfect for our family! The kitchen was well stocked, great location and close to the Ironton Ferry.
The home and location were in the perfect location. Roomy for our family to have plenty of space and the private beach steps from the front porch. Truly no need to bring anything but yourself and maybe a change of clothing as everything else was available for our use. The patio setting in the backyard was beautifully lite up at night for evening barbecues or just sitting and enjoying nature.
The house was gorgeous and fully stocked with essentials. The sunset and beach were amazing! The hosts were 5 star! Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home.
Beautiful home with all the amenities! Ken was a great host and the property was located within a short drive of all the main places to see - Petosky, Charlevoix, Boyne....we had a great time and would visit again!
The house is great. Very quiet, every amenity, large enough for everyone but still cozy, great views, great location, nice beach, and a wonderful host!
We booked for a family vacation and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. We have young kids and they loved the beach. The house had everything we could have needed. Easy walk to the ferry and Landing Restaurant. Host was always available for any questions. We can’t wait to come back next year!
The cabin was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. The bedroom that had a curtain rather than the door was mildly disappointing, but other than that it was a lovely time.
Absolutely beautiful home and yard - photos don't even do it justice. There is so much outdoor space to enjoy - huge porch with multiple sitting areas, landscaped / forested backyard, private beach, side yard with firepit.
The host has thought of everything and the layout of the house is good for large groups (we had 5 adults and 4 kids). We rented the host's very nice boat and enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboards every day. Only challenge was that the boat needed to be anchored out away from the dock overnight.
A few nearby places you shouldn't miss: take the Ironton ferry or kayak to The Landing - really good lakeside food and 100+ rums, have a nice dinner at Cafe Sante in Boyne City and definitely, definitely hit up Boyne City / Gilda's Bakery for amazing French pastries.
Really one of the nicest rentals we've ever stayed in, with helpful and responsive hosts and friendly neighbors!
The best family lake vacation. First time to Charlevoix Lake and it exceeded all of our expectations. 4 couples and 1 single fit comfortably in the cottage. Fully stocked kitchen, spacious living room with huge Tv was great for watching the Olympics at night. We spent most of our time outside and had great weather. We utilized every part of the property, especially the front porch with lake view and the beach area. There is plenty for everyone to do - we beach lounged, swam, fished (smallmouth were biting) and kayaked all at the house. The lake bottom is rock, no grass which was nice for swimming, but recommend water shoes with decent grip. One of our favorites activities was a daily walk to the Ironton Ferry (0.8 mile) to go across the lake(free for walkers) for happy hour at The Landing. Even took the kayaks over a couple times and the staff helped dock the boats. Really fun place to eat/drink right on the water.
Our group made trips to Boyne City, Charlevoix and Petosky to farmer's markets, shopping, eat/drink and disk golf. If you're a golfer - make the drive up to Boyne Highlands for an early tee time at the Arthur Hills course. Guarantee to be blown away. Ye Nyne Olde Holles Golf Course is a few miles down the road from the cottage and was a lot of fun too - think it was $20 to walk 9 holes.
Couldn't recommend this cottage more and we are already looking forward to going back!
The cabin is quaint, clean & has an amazing view. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board & dock. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the rocking chairs watching the Ironton ferry & the beautiful sunsets. The history of the cabin framed in the downstairs hallway is pretty cool. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen has all of the necessities. We played a couple of the board games provided in the cabin. Overall, we had a great trip & truly enjoyed the cabin!
This was our chance to gather with our children and grandchildren in more than a year. The house -- newer and accommodating all of us -- was comfortable and well supplied. We were on a quiet part of the lake: pretty sunset views, trails to walk. We recommend it.
The pictures don't do this place justice. Super cute and comfortable. Had everything we needed for a quick ski getaway. Kurt and Melissa are amazing hosts. Super hospitable and responsive. Highly recommend
