Perfect Stay

Jillian's property was perfect. The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. I was looking for a quiet getaway, and I felt like she respected that, yet I always felt that she was right there if I needed anything. I couldn't have asked for anything more, and I look forward to my next stay there.

Picturesque cottage on lake

Lovely house near a small lake; trails on the property lead to a creak. Nice place to stay with family. Friendly hostess showed us her chickens and gave us farm fresh eggs!

Wonderful Getaway

The property was so amazing. We enjoyed hiking the trails, loved watching the sunrise over the pond every morning and sharing coffee with King! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful NJ Property

Had a wonderful stay here in Blairstown! Even after a big snowstorm, we had no trouble getting to the property, and had a lovely time exploring the snow covered landscape during our extended weekend stay (and had fun imagining how beautiful it must be in the Spring and Fall). Lots of places to visit in the area for both indoors-y and outdoors-y types, plenty of amenities on the property and the surrounding area, and all the creature comforts you need in this cozy space.

Nice little relaxing farm house

This house is a perfect little spot to stay with your family and its dog friendly! We were in the area for a wedding and needed somewhere to stay for a few days and this place was nice and close to 80 so it was easy on and off for travel. Host was very helpful with providing a baby gate and was willing to help out in any way possible.

Girls’ Weekend!

My adult daughters and I spent three nights and most of two days on this picturesque country property. We took advantage of the trails and interacted with “King” the friendly black and white cat. Honestly, most of our time was spent around the kitchen table just catching up with each other. We had a lovely visit and highly recommend the Lakeview Cottage.

quaint and lovely

We stayed at the cottage for a quick weekend getaway and it was lovely. It was located no more than 15 minutes from where we needed to go (hiking Jenny Jump State Forest) and the property is very peaceful. Cottage is small--the listing is clear about the basement level having a low ceiling--but it was perfect for our purposes. And my daughter loved meeting the animals. Jillian was welcoming and communicative and sent us home with fresh eggs from her charming chickens. We would definitely stay again.

A wonderful stay

The property was easy to get to and the property owner, Jillian was very kind. The premises were clean and well maintained. My only issue was a lack of internet connection for wi-fi which she attempted to fix, but the issue was with the cable provider. Farms and farmer's markets are nearby where you can obtain fresh foods and even oick your ow berries, corn, tomatoes, etc. Lakota Wolf Preserve is not far and was very enjoy a abd educational. We also visited the Frank Frazetta art museum in Stroudsburg, PA, among other destinations. The Blairstown Diner, which is seen in the Friday the 13th movies, is also close by. We were given farm fresh eggs and got to see the chickens there. My son is autistic and if he feels comfortable in a place, which he did, it really goes a long way. Ww were

The perfect little getaway

The cutest little cottage with a gorgeous lake view. The host was so nice and attentive, greeting us with fresh eggs! Caught glimpses of her animals and even got to pet one of her chickens. Took advantage of one of the recommendations and visited the Alpaca farm, about a 10 minute drive from the cottage. Definitely worth it! The cottage is as described in the listing. Had everything we needed and the heat lamp on the deck was a huge plus for when it got a little too chilly at night. 100% would stay again. :)

Not what we expected

The pics and description of the cottage were a lot better than it actually was. Some cabinets in the kitchen didn’t stay closed. The weeds were all grown up around the cottage. Founds ants in the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms and downstairs bedroom. The downstairs ceiling was about 5 1/2 foot high in the hall to get to the bedroom which wasn’t in the listing and we lost water the second day. Needlesses to say we stayed 1 night and demanded a refund. We had to call our credit card company to get them involved because the host refused to refund us because she said there was nothing wrong. Not what we expected at all.

We had a great time at Jillian's place. It's perfect for a small family looking for a cozy place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Jillian was also great host -- very accommodating and communicative. She gave us a tour of the farm and fresh eggs to take home!

Nice place

The host was excellent. She was super helpful when we accidentally locked a door to one of the bedrooms, even responding late at night and leaving a tool for us to fix the problem. When we noticed that there was no hairdryer in the house, she went out and bought one. She and her family (and cat!) were very friendly. We really appreciated their hospitality.

Great Weekend getaway

We very much enjoyed our stat at Jillian's property. We walked the paths every morning and afternoon. We shopped at the local produce markets and toured the Lakota wolf preserve. We look forward to visiting again and experiencing more local attractions.

Cute and peaceful cottage

We had decided to make a long weekend out of attending a wedding in the area (part of NJ we haven't really explored). The location worked, the cottage was cute--and the area peaceful; (finding the driveway was a little tricky--it kinda pops up on you). The owner was very accomodating--originally we had planned on coming with a dog and I missed the minimum stay requirements on the listing and we were able to navigate through that--which was very much appreciated. The owner also provided plenty of options of things to do in the area--however that was the weekend we were getting hit with a major tropical storm and decided to end our weekend a little earlier than planned and missed out on some more exploring (maybe another stay in the future?).

We enjoy hosting guests on the farm. My daughter and I offer farm tours of with chickens, bunnies and ducks, VermiCulture, and playtime @ the cool stream pools for children and lawn games. Inquire about Animal Tracking, Scavenger Hunts, Nature/Lake exploration, and other seasonal workshops for the children.
I have been an Artist and Yoga Instructor for many years and more recently have been studying Somatic Therapy; I also enjoy studying ancient healing practices, Ayurvedic and herbal medicine.
