Communication at the beginning was not great which is why we gave overall the place a 4, but the views, the animals, and the overall place was beautiful and peaceful. Thank you for having a calming place available for stay!
I am mobility challenged. The biggest problem was dragging my luggage and groceries up hill a loose gravel pathway. For anybody else, no problem, but I was having a difficult time.
Property was new and right on the river. I didn’t receive check in details until I followed up after check in time. Owner on first call was rude. I called second number but she couldn’t find my reservation. Know that you have to be on the phone with owner/mgr to get directed to your unit as there are many rentals on this farm.
My family loved this place. It was exactly what we needed for our stay passing through. The property is beautiful. Between the Colorado River and the animals you won’t want to spend any time inside. It’s in a great location in reference to the wineries and downtown area. The owners weren’t invasive at all. We will definitely book again when we go out that way.
This entire property is just amazing. There aren't proper word to describe how perfect it is. The owners and the caretaker are all so pleasant and relaxed to deal with. All of the dogs are so friendly and give such an at home feel. All of the animals that free range are so sweet and just make for a one of a kind stay and experience. This entire property is their home, and I considered it a honor to be welcomed by the animals ans people. We hope to return with our entire family so they can see just how amazing this place is!
The pups were so friendly and cute! It is a solid 20 minute + bike ride into town but makes the wine tastings well deserved! Moo Moo the Emu made this Aussie relive her childhood :)
We stayed here for one night to be able to shower after biking in Fruita and then drink at our favorite distillery on our way home to Denver. For that purpose, it was fine. Had I been alone, I would have thought otherwise. The listing does say this is an attached guest house, but I didn't realize it was connected to the owner's house via a door by the kitchenette. You can hear the owner(s) pretty clearly. The kitchenette was tiny, so definitely not a place you'd cook dinner. We saw where the SUPs were and wouldn't have ventured into that water, and they share the lake with a neighbor, so you can't go past an invisible fence once you get into this "lake." There are also a bunch of Airstreams that a couple of guys were working on right next to the place, so I felt like we were intruding.
The location was stunning, along the Colorado River, and the night skies are crazy gorgeous. That said, it still is about a 10-minute drive to downtown Palisade. Next time we stay in the Palisade area, I would prefer to book a motel for this price. I thought we'd have extra perks with the animals and outdoor activities, but that wasn't really the case.
Overall, it was a clean place to shower and stay the night, and if that's what you're looking for, then it's functional!
Great location on the Colorado River. Loved all of the animals. Host made arrival and check in very easy. Unique home and property. Wish I had time to fish in the pond.
Relaxing nurturing and fun getaway in a new very well designed and equipped house in the heart of a wine country with mountain views farm animals fire pit to watch a sunset,
Will definitely rerurn. Thank you
House was amazing, owners were more than friendly and very welcoming to my friends and I. The animals were to die for and always gave us something to look forward to each morning! Will definitely be coming back!
