We had a wonderful visit in Cape Charles! Close to the beach, restaurants and everything you might need. House is stocked with all the amenities plus beach chairs, umbrella and sand toys!
This is our 5th summer in Cape Charles and we decided to be walking distance to Mason rather than closer to beach. This house was a cute duplex with great size bedrooms. Dining room had a nice size table for dinners. House had extension chord set up for golf cart which was convenient. Would stay again!
Great location with shops, restaurants, and the beach within walking distance. We liked the layout of the house and enjoyed our stay overall. The kitchen was clean and worked well and the place felt clean, but a couple of things need improvement. The living room couch was dirty and should be replaced and the shower was difficult to use (an old clawfoot tub with an added shower head and a shower curtain surround). The older people in our group had a hard time getting in and out of it and said they felt off balance each time they turned around while using it. But overall, it's a cute place in a great location.

The duplex is in a great location with easy access to the offerings of Cape Charles. The door keypad makes getting in and out very easy and there’s ample parking. Unfortunately, these pluses were overshadowed by the negatives.
It was clear that this was once a much loved duplex but a lot of areas of the house were neglected. We brought this to the attention of the owner and they agreed that there were areas that needed improvement and that “the listing wasn’t an accurate representation” and offered us a refund for one night IF we didn’t leave a review. We politely asked for a two night refund as we cut our time there in half due to issues we found with the property (mold on a lot of items on the front porch, an unusable backyard due to overgrowth, mold on the master bedroom nightstand lamp shades, a very badly stained living room couch, etc) , which we thought was fair. The owner treated us as though he was doing us a favor for any reimbursement and decided that we no longer deserved any reimbursement. As a note for all renters, VRBO allows hosts to determine if / how much on all refunds and doesn’t intercede on renter behalf—please be aware of this as a renter.
We had really been looking forward to a family vacation, but were really disappointed in the state of the rental, trying to work with the host and how VRBO handles these matters.

Well stocked and comfortable for a family of 6 - all of the necessities for home and the beach! Great spot around the corner from the shops and restaurants, and not too far from the beach either! Would definitely rent again.

Our rental worked out well. Enjoyed the proximity to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Very easy to communicate with owners. Would stay here again.

Location, location, location! We love this location and proximity to town. From the main level wood floors and faux fireplaces, there is an air of historical charm mixed in with modern amenties. The kitchen features everything you will need for meal preparation or storage. The dining room features a unique hand restored table that seats 8 or more guests with plenty of room in the living room to spread out and enjoy each other's company. Games, whole house (and yard) Wi-Fi on the property, a park grill, fire pit, and front porch seating complete the amenties that make this a special place made to create lasting memories. The home has a heavy duty beach cart stocked with essentials to make your trip to the beach memorable.
