Beautiful home!

We had the best stay in this cozy home with gorgeous views! It was nice and clean, and it had everything we needed during our stay. Also, the host was incredibly kind and easy to communicate with — at one point, our toddler misplaced our key, and he had a replacement delivered to us within minutes. Will absolutely stay here again when we’re in the area!

Beautiful home, spectacular getaway, great location

This is the second time we've visited this VRBO. Still an amazing property and better this time than the last. The hosts are very accommodating, communicate well and the special touches to the home and attention to detail do not go unnoticed. Comfortable beds, spotless, upscale amenities, secluded and relaxing. Already looking forward to the next visit.

Fabulous View

Our stay was amazing. You have to try the shower with the spa feature. Everything was well stocked and ready for cooking, seating and relaxing. This is a perfect getaway for 4 to 8 people. No problems with Internet connection or operating whatever feature. The fireplace is controlled with remote and easy to use. Would definitely recommend thank you Michael and Sally for a wonderful weekend!

Private sanctuary

We found exactly what we were looking for … a very private spot we could recharge at during the evenings after stressful days. The home was lovely with beautiful long range Mountain View’s. The kitchen was thoroughly equipped which allowed us to prepare real meals in appropriate cookware. While needing to disconnect we still needed to stay ‘connected’ - despite the fabulous privacy, the internet was superb. The icing on the cake was having our dogs with us!

Excellent accommodations and amenities

First class, quiet, tranquil, with provisions of everything you might need once there, other than your food and drink. We stayed two weeks and truly enjoyed our time. The hosts are lovely, generous, helpful and friendly. The steam shower was a real bonus. The Gourmet Kitchen is truly lovely, being equipped with just about everything imaginable, and handy for those who like to cook and prepare meals. Super fast Internet was nice. We made friends with local deer and wild turkey flocks across the lawn.

One of my favorites!

This home is stunning. Comfortable furniture and beds. New everything! The kitchen is well stocked. The decor is lovely. Our only regret: we didn’t plan enough time to be home to enjoy everything this VRBO had to offer. Next time! Amazing indoors and out! Do heed the suggestion of the 4 wheel drive… the driveway is a hoot! Sadie (Jeep wrangler Sahara) enjoyed the drive up and down each time! Thanks to the hosts for making this lovely retreat available to guests.

Perfect romantic getaway!

My husband and I stayed at Micheal’s in celebration of our 15th wedding anniversary. We take as many mountain trips as possible every year and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this property was the most well appointed and cleanest place we have ever stayed (and I am picky)! I so appreciated feeling truly comfortable, and the extra attention to details did not go unnoticed. The kitchen was stocked, there was hand soap in every bathroom and even a Dyson stick vac and kitchen cleaner spray to keep things tidy while there. Any questions we had were answered in the welcome packet letter. We were able to disconnect completely and enjoyed every minute. Neither of us wanted to leave! Thank you Michael and Sally for sharing your home with us! We will certainly look to look your place for any future trips to Asheville! -Jessica & Ken

Secluded yet conveniently located

What a beautiful home and property! We loved the privacy and views this home had to offer. It is secluded yet conveniently located to grocery stores, gas stations, etc. It is new, clean and well stocked. The owner was very responsive and communicative. It was perfect for our stay as it was just 20 minutes to rafting, Black Mountain and downtown Asheville. We would definitely stay in this home again!

Beautiful mountain home above Interstate 26 exit, minutes from Ashevillem

The magnificent windows in this new, beautiful home face westward through a clearing and above the tree-line to a distant mountain ridge. We enjoyed magnificent sunsets as well as visits from turkey, deer, and a fox. The setting is worth the drive up the half-mile, gravel drive; we made it with no difficulty in a light car and an SUV, but 4-wheel-drive would be helpful. The kitchen is well-designed and equipped. We used it and the outside grill (charcoal) extensively. The living space and bedrooms were comfortable and perfect for our family gathering of four adults and two children. We also enjoyed the screened porch several times a day. Michael was a clear and warm communicator. He made sure we had all we needed for arrival and for our stay. If you have the opportunity, be sure to ask him about when and why the home was built. His story will make you appreciate your stay in the home even more.

Immaculate Spot - Best STR I’ve ever stayed at

This place was absolutely amazing. It was clean, renovated, the kitchen was fully loaded with anything we needed, the outdoor area was so relaxing and inviting, and the views were gorgeous. 10/10 would stay there again. Just two pieces of feedback for the hosts: - The Electrical breaker kept tripping ever time we turned on two or more lights at once, which was a bit of an annoyance. - The master shower drain could use some Dreno. The water took a long time to drain down. Nothing serious but it definitely needs to be resolved. Neither of these things will keep me from giving this property a 5-star review. Definitely on my favorites list when visiting Weaverville!

Exceeded all expectations by very particular attention to detail in every area—and the property & view were beautiful, including the frequently sighted bevy of wild turkeys & one sighting of a group of turkey chicks.

Fantastic

Could not have asked for a better mountain retreat. The home and property were beautiful and so well-maintained. Exactly as described and extremely convenient to all that Asheville had to offer. Will certainly look to stay again in the future. The only negative is that the house is so wonderful it would be very easy to stay indoors and not leave the house for the duration of your trip.

Excellent Stay

Beautiful house in a quiet forest-like location. Very well thought out kitchen and tons of sharp, good quality cutlery. If you like to cook, this is a great kitchen for it - even a drawer full of a number of different spices. The location is about 20 minutes to Asheville, and you definitely need a 4x4 / high clearance vehicle. We went in the summer and the gravel road leading up to the house isn't long, but it is rough terrain. Screened in porch is great, and the master steam shower was great after a long day out. Only thing to note is that the master bedroom has a thin partition to overlook the living room / giant windows. While very aesthetically pleasing, noise travels very easily from the kitchen up to the master. And make sure to read the directions given on the listing, otherwise your GPS may take you the wrong way. All little things that didn't deter us from having an amazing stay. Communication with both hosts was quick and easy, Michael and Sally always willing to help. We'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area for some quiet and seclusion!

Excellent property for our needs

We were planning on a visit to the area to do some hiking and walking with a trip into Asheville also. The property is about 25 minutes from downtown Asheville close to the I26. Weaverville 10 minutes from the property and offers some bars, restaurants and shopping. We visited the Twisted Laurel and had a great meal in downtown Weaverville. Now for the property, it is excellent, very nicely finished with just about every necessity you could want and a few you didn't know you wanted. Very clean and comfy and perfectly sized for a party of 4 to 6 people. The property has everything you could need to make your stay great. We did bump.into the owner on one do the days we were there and he seemed to be very genuine and happy to meet your requirements. Would be more than happy to arrange another trip to this property. Enjoyed it very much and hope to be back soon.

Amazing! This is a 5 star+++ home!

I can’t say enough about this home. It far exceeded our expectations. So much room around the property and in the home. I will take the steam shower over a hot tub any day! Loved the attention to detail in the decor and they didn’t cut corners on their furniture. I loved a few pieces in the home so much that I am researching how to buy them for my place. Spectacular views, lovely host. Everything was easy to access and use. We will definitely return. Great location; we felt far away enough from city life but yet could access Asheville in 30 minutes and get to great hiking easily. The local restaurants were all amazing. Highly recommend the glass onion. And Maggie Bs for lunch and the wine selection was great.

Top notch house with all the amenities

This place had a great setup and flow to the house. All of the supplies in the kitchen were great--not cheapy stuff like you see in other rental properties. Additionally, the appliances and facilities in general were top notch. We enjoyed multiple fires in the firepit area. We didn't use the screen porch much as the bugs hadn't really hit yet, but it's a great setup if you want to be "outside" but away from the bugs. We had our 2 children under 2 years old with us and the setup was great for them. My only gripe is that I was hoping the mountain views were a little more open. You are up on a mountain but it's surrounded mostly by woods so the views can be slightly obstructed. Our host was extremely responsive and helpful in my questions leading up to our trip so we really felt like we were taken care of the whole time. For navigation purposes, make sure to use Waze as there are quite a few twists and turns getting up to the property. Google Maps gave us bad directions to the other side of the mountain. Don't hesitate to book this place if you're looking for a little escape while also feeling a bit pampered.

Family Vacation

Our family had an excellent stay in this Lovely home. It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. If we'd spent more time in the house there were spices, utensils, and crockery for more elaborate meals - instead we spent our vacation walking along WNC trails and bringing food home from delicious local restaurants. We really enjoyed the steam shower at the end of our hikes. The house sits up on a ridge-line and the view from the living room windows was better than TV. WiFi supported my checking in to work without glitches. We highly recommend a stay at Michael and Sally's beautiful home.

Owners have lived in the area for over 30 years and work in downtown Asheville. They are very knowledgeable of the area and can be helpful with any questions about your stay.

Why they chose this property

The property sits on top of a mountain up a half mile private gravel road. A front or 4 wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended.
