Everything was as advertised. The cottage was very clean and just a few blocks from main street. The owners were very friendly and gave us some great suggestions about where to eat, wineries they like etc. It was the perfect place for our long weekend.

EVERTHING WAS AMAZING AND THE LOCATION WAS PERFECT. WILL BE COMING BACK SOON.
My college bestie and I spent the weekend here, we always loved going to antique stores back in the day and chose this place because of how adorable it looked. Obviously it is geared for a couples stay but we brought an air mattress for the second floor essentially giving us two mini apartments. It was so cozy but we still had a place for privacy and to decompress after walking around Main Street. We took advantage of the bikes one morning to check out the super cute neighborhood. They do have a small fridge, microwave and Kureig provided so you can bring some small snacks to enjoy at the dining table. Overall a great visit!

We came up for a weekend getaway. When we arrived, the property was very well maintained and appealing to the eye. The hosts were fantastic, so nice and welcoming when we arrived. We even got a bit of history about the place which was really cool. The hosts are super knowledgeable about the area and have many good recommendations for places to eat, wineries to visit and other things to do around the area. The cottage is set back on the property and is very quiet. The inside was very clean and decorated so cute. Each piece in the cottage has a bit of history to it. The bed was very comfortable and we slept great on it. I would definitely recommend this place as a great place to get away and enjoy Fredericksburg.
Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Serendipity. Cute little cottage with unique standalone tub/shower in the bedroom. Quite a novelty! Great recommendations from owners Mike and Cindy on wonderful restaurants and vineyards. Enjoyed relaxing in the lovely cottage courtyard, full of friendly colorful butterflies! Explored on the bicycles through town and to the park. Safe clean neighborhood. Favorite wine tours were at Becker vineyards and at Grape Creek Vineyards. Wonderful live music at The Elk (whiskey bar) and at Safari Vineyards in the courtyard. Great dinners at Crossroads and at Vaudeville. We look forward to returning!
My daughter and I stay here for our annual Mother daughter trip. It was our first time to Fredricksburg and the owners were so kind and gave some wonderful recommendations. We loved the charm of this house and the location was wonderful. Just a few blocks from downtown. We took the bikes for a ride one night and found a great restaurant just a couple blocks over and then cruised around downtown to do some window shopping. We loved our stay and will be back again someday.
This was a property that is well named. Everything out the cottage was serene. Location, ambiance, surroundings. All of them made this a great spot to land after exploring Fredericksburg each day. Highly recommend this place.
I was in the area for the eclipse and enjoyed my stay. The owners where very welcoming, and it was very easy for me to come and go over the several days I was staying in “Texas Napa Valley.”
The house was cozy and it’s in a great location. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was very clean.
It is worth mentioning that the description of the property doesn’t say you have to use the outside stairs to get to the top floor living room area. It’s a very unique setup.
The bathtub/shower is a few feet from the bed which is not ideal. There are no rails or anything to hold onto when getting in/out of the shower/tub. It’s a small space with the tub in the room.
I’d recommend the owners building out the bathroom with a shower and putting a small sofa where the bathtub sits currently. Overall, we had a good trip and the property feels safe behind the house with the closed gate. Pack light due to space and so you won’t have to haul your things from the street to the cottage.
Great property and location. The owners are lovely and will give your great recommendations if it’s your first time visiting. Would love to stay again.
This was a cozy and clean little place that was unique and very conveniently located. The property owner was very nice and helpful and even gave some great recommendations on where to eat and hike.

Very charming and comfortable cottage. A lot of local businesses are a short walk away. Quiet neighborhood. Lovely hosts.
We had a wonderful time, everything we needed was available and we were really close to Main Street. The Cottage was very clean. The only thing that I would suggest is more comfortable cushions for the couch in the living area. The small snacks, coffee and water were a great addition.
We had a wonderful stay at "Serendipity". The property was beautiful and the guest house was perfect for our weekend getaway to the Texas hill country. Will definitely stay here again!!
Loved this place from the minute we pulled up!
Tucked away in the owners backyard but so PERFECT so a nice quiet getaway!! They have everything you would need!!

Greeted by unfriendly host at arrival
Parking instructions were not communicated on web. We did not see the parking instructions on the sheet provided by Fredericksburg Escapes because it was the last sentence of the driving instructions. Upon arrival at the property, there was one parking spot in front and it had a car in it. We assumed that we got to park next to the VRBO in the covered carport. We pulled in and before we could even get out of the car - we were met by an upset “owner” that told us we were not allowed to park there and that we needed to park out front in the allocated parking spot. We told her that there was a car there - and she admitted it was hers. She said she would move her car so we could park there. She proceeded to tell my husband how to back out. Once out front, we noticed the parking spot was very steep and narrow. Our car was low to the ground and it scraped the concrete as we maneuvered into the spot. The hostess, instead of being concerned about us and our car, she complained about us scraping her concrete sidewalk. Instead of letting us unpack the car close to the VRBO, we had to make multiple trips over 100 feet back and forth through a locked gate and gravel driveway.
Once we got settled in, we noticed the lack of supplies - 2 people and a 4 night stay with a very small bottle of soap and shampoo. Some of the snacks had expired best by dates of 2022.
We will not be staying there again.
