The Barefoot Beach House is one of the nicest guest house offered in South Palmetto Point...just south of Governor's Harbour in Eleuthera. This is offered as a 2 bed/2bath. See Home Away 4279742 for an additional bedroom and bath if you need 3bed/3baths. Step out the door to a beautiful crystal clear turquoise beach. We have a rowboat that can double as a sailboat, a canoe and kayaks for your use. Inside the tropically decorated home you will have all the luxuries of home...hair dryer, iron, cable TV, WI FI ,games & water toys. Fully equipped kitchen and 8' wrap around patio with patio furniture and gas grills. Relax in the hammock under the palm trees, catch a bonefish right off the beach, explore the many beaches on the island, take day trips to the north & south and do some island exploring or just relax on the sandy beach and soak up some sun. Come back and enjoy the oversized shower with room for 2 or sit out on the patio and enjoy the stars that sparkle like diamonds in the sky.
Easy commute to local attractions: Located about the middle of the island it makes it great for day trips to the north and south. We offer a book with directions to all the beaches and attractions...explore at your leisure. There are several stores and restaurants located within a 5-7 mile radius. You might not want to leave the property as we are located on a sandy beach and have a boat that can double as a sailboat, a canoe and kayaks for your use. Enjoy relaxing in the swaying hammock under the palm trees, work on your tan on the beach or explore the island and find hidden beaches. With our unique location we have sunrises to the east over a point of land and sunsets over the Pineapple Cays which are right off shore. You will have breathtaking views of the stars at night..like diamonds in the sky. You will find The Barefoot Beach House relaxing, squeaky clean and comfortable.

Please leave all your worries at home. We expect you to relax...we even provide you with a complimentary BOTTLE OF LOCAL RUM! Our motto is: Enter as a guest, leave as a friend. Birthday get away

We loved everything about the property. The access was excellent and the rental car assistance was a huge help, and much cheaper. We enjoyed the fading light in the calm surf a couple of steps back to the house. We can’t wait to come back to this treasure.

Barefoot Beach House

This house has a great location centrally located on the island and sits on a beautiful sandy beach. The Owner takes pride in her house and keeps it very clean and pristine. The grounds are tropical and well maintained. This was our first time exploring the island but honestly we could have stayed at the house and just enjoyed everything this house had to offer.

Great location

We had a great time and enjoyed the quiet surroundings . The kayaks were a plus and the grill came in handy for dinner. This house was centrally located and made our daily explorations an easy drive. We would definitely stay here again . Thanks again for the Rum we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Beautiful and everything you need. Highly recommend.

House and grounds were beautiful, well kept, and had everything you needed. The owners truly thought of everything and very informative. Very nice having beach chairs and umbrellas. Views were beautiful. Would definitely recommend. We had a great time!

Spectacular beachfront cottage

Firstly the cottage is one of the most impeccably clean places we have ever stayed at. Skip and Sharon have done an amazing job at making this cottage wam and welcoming. The location in palmatto point is conveniently located to grocery/liquor stores nearby. The beachfront is fantastic. Literally 50 steps from bedroom to the warm carribbean waters. We will definitely be back again.

Perfect location

Met Skip as I arrived at the house. Beautiful spot in front of a sandy beach. Since Palmetto is in the middle of the island it made for a great starting point to explore the whole island. The house was comfortable and had what we needed for a relaxing stay. If I ever make it back to Eleuthera I’ll definitely stay with them again.

Great place. Great location. Great a amenities. Home away from home.

We had a wonderful time at the Barefoot Beach House! The house is very clean and well supplied with towels and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The rum was a wonderful touch. The owners anticipated all our needs.The house was located in a quiet location which gave a real feel of the island and its simple serenity. Great trip. We will definitely return.

Beautiful Location.

My husband, adult nephew and I stayed a week in the Mermaid/Seashell Combo. It was the perfect size for us. The house was equipped with everything we needed and the mid island location was ideal for us to explore north and south. Sharon and Skip were welcoming and they live next door so they are accessible at any time. The beach was beautiful, calm and private. It was great for swimming and snorkeling around the little cays. I highly recommend staying at Barefoot Beach House and visiting Eleuthera.

Gorgeous view!

We stayed in Sharon and Skip's rental home for a week. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by Sharon who was a fabulous host. The house was immaculate as were the grounds. Everything we needed was provided. Sharon had an information book ready for our use which was extremely helpful. The views from this place were out of this world!!! I would definitely recommend the Barefoot beach house for anyone coming to Eleuthera.

Terrific Place

A hidden gem, S. Palmetto Point was great. close to every where it is some where in the middle of Eleuthera. We explore the north to get to boat tours and my grandson had a blast swimming with the pigs,turtles,snorkeling and more. But the truth is that the beach in front of the house is all you need. the house had everything you need, very comfy and very well decorated, the hosts are great and will help you with direction, Maps helped a lot. You want to stay longer, the people are very friendly there. We are returning next year God willing.

Above expectations

The pictures on the internet do not do the cottage justice. We counted the people we saw on the beach during the seven days we were there; 8. Everyone of them spoke to us. Every interaction on the Island was pleasant and folks generally went out of their way to accommodate. Our host was most gracious and a wealth of local information which took away all the guesswork. We're headed back as soon as we can lock in a date.

FABULOUS HOUSE ON THE BEACH!

This is a beautiful home in a lovely area right in South Palmetto Point. Spacious and fabulous, with a comfortable beds, nicely equipped kitchen, and cozy living room area., and the best part is the BEACH that is right out the front door! Definitely highly recommended! Skip and Sharon were a delight, although their home is on the property, they gave us our privacy and great conversations when we did see them. I could go on and on but, I will end with, GO! you will not be disappointed in this gem!! if they will have me, my family and I will certainly be back!

I would give 6 stars if that were an option!

You will hear a lot about the island and how magical it is….and I was very disappointed in the pink sand. All the pictures you see are taken with filters. If you want to see pink sand, wear pink sunglasses!! I have to say that the island people are super nice and the island holds a decent amount of magic but if I am ever able to go back, I would stay at the rental on the patio overlooking the Caribbean all day every day! Perfect place with perfect hosts. Thanks, Skip and Sharon

Did not disappoint!!

This place was absolutely amazing! The house, the beach, all of it was just perfect. Through the whole process from booking to leaving Sharon and Skip made it so nice. Skip was so hospitable. Felt like we have known him for years. Sharon wasn’t there for other reasons but I’m sure if she was we would have hit it off as well. And when they tell you all you need is your swim suit and a few outfits….believe them. They have everything you could possibly need at the house. I only hope we make this a regular trip. Definitely want to go back…..today please. 😊

What can I say that has not already been said about this place!? The Barefoot Beach House, Sharon and Skip, and Eleuthera are all wonderful. My family stayed for 10 nights and we had a very comfortable, enjoyable, scenic, relaxing, convenient, tasty, fun filled vacation. Our teenage boys had a blast snorkelling, skimboarding and making sand castles at every beach we visited. We thoroughly enjoyed the convenience of our 'island cruiser' as it allowed us to explore the many beaches, sites, and shops on Eleuthera. We truly enjoyed slowing down, focusing on what matters, and eating simple wholesome foods. All the best, Skip and Sharon! We hope to return sooner than later.

What an amazing property!

Gorgeous location, beautiful property and friendly host! We could have spent our whole vacation at the house! Mornings and evenings were spent on the patio days in the water or lying on the beach! Tons of beach toys and kayaks and boats to use. The house was super cool and can be opened for 1 bedroom 2 or 3 bedrooms. We used 2 bedrooms and it was perfect for us! Great kitchen with all the utensils and pans you would need. Make sure you stop at Island Farm on the way in for chips and homemade salsa and cheese dip! Skip was a fabulous host who had great recommendations and island insights. Always there when we needed him but super respectful of our privacy. We would go back and stay with them in a heartbeat if we return to the island. Great location in Central Eleuthera for day trips up south and down north

Well Appointed Home in stellar location.

Skip and Sharon's home was chosen because we were traveling with my 82 year old Mother and she had to be toes in sand and surf with little effort. First, let me say that the house is well appointed, very clean and on a stunning beach. Your hosts live right next door. For those of us that like a bit of privacy and anonymity, this may not be the house for you. As a vacation rental owner myself, I understand the benefits of checking in with your guests every so often. I just felt that the two homes were a little close for my comfort. Having said that, if you are the kind of person that likes to chit chat on vacation and don't mind interacting with your host on a daily basis, you will love the Barefoot Beachhouse. The grounds are well cared for, the beach is raked every morning, there are kayaks, water toys and games 'o plenty. The decor is a bit dated and old fashion but the furniture and beds are very comfortable, the linens and towels were 5* and the Guestbook, maps and books about the island available in the house were more than 5*. Really outstanding information. I snorkeled throughout the island and found the snorkeling right out front to be very interesting. Great other snorkeling spots were less than 15 minutes away. Amazing water. House lends itself to more traditional indoor living with windows and screen door but not that open island outdoor living space you might like. The back patio was fine in the morning and afternoon but by 5:30 the bugs and flies were out and it was impossible to eat our dinners on the terrace...big bummer. Left covered in no see-um bites despite bug spray and SkinSoSoft which folks tout as the best. Overall, for the more mature crowd, the Barefoot Beach House is lovely. The views are amazing.

An Amazing Beach House on a Gorgeous Beach!

We loved everything about this property. My husband, seven-year old son, and I spent just under a week at the Barefoot Beach House and I would have gladly stayed for a full month. This was easily one of the most relaxing, well-appointed, and beautifully situated properties we've ever experienced. I would recommend this highly for families or others looking to get away from it all and relax at the beach. The house itself had everything we needed. The kitchen has loads of utensils and equipment, making it easy to self-cater if you feel like staying in. The furnishings are great - very beachy! One of the best perks was all of the beach gear: snorkels, masks, fins, floats, beach chairs and an umbrella, a boogie board, and more. We used it daily and it made exploring Eleuthera's beaches that much more fun. Definitely rent a car (a must on the island!), btw! While we had big plans to hit up as many of the island's beaches as we could, we found it hard to tear ourselves away from the gorgeous one just steps from the beach house's back door. Better yet, Skip and Sharon have kayaks and a clear two-person kayak/canoe to take out in calm weather - so fun! There's also great snorkeling right there. It's hard to leave! Skip and Sharon were excellent hosts. They're available to help or answer questions, but I felt like we had full privacy. They also have a binder full of suggestions they've compiled in the beach house, which includes detailed descriptions and directions to some of their favorite local beaches. It was a great resource and we used it daily. Overall, this was one of the most relaxing trips we've taken. Eleuthera is gorgeous and this house was perfect. I'd debated staying at one of the small local resorts instead, since my son typically loves having a pool, but I'm so glad we went with Barefoot Beach House. The Caribbean Sea is mere steps from the door and the water is so warm and calm that it feels like a swimming pool - but with fish! We spent hours each day in the sea right outside of the house and all loved it. What's more, the location is an easy 15 minutes drive from Governor's Harbor and is a great midpoint from the island's northern and southern beaches, making it easy to explore Eleuthera. If we ever return to Eleuthera, we won't hesitate to book this property again. Highly, highly recommended.
