Water views from almost every window...feels like you are on a cruise ship without the boat! This place is a nature lovers dream. The sky is painted different colors from sunrise to sunset to moonrise. From our private pier you can swim, kayak, crab or chill.
Nature lovers will bask in the beauty of Bennys Landing, a tiny hamlet of 100 year old homes on Jenkins Sound. It’s a 10 minute drive through the wetlands to the pristine Stone Harbor beaches. We are 2 miles from the Acme if you want to get burgers for the grill. Or enjoy a gourmet dinner in the quaint center of Cape May Court House. Go to George’s for authentic Greek, Nino’s for Italian or Petunia’s for something special. We are located in a coastal town and like all coastal communities, we are subject to flooding during severe weather. As long as you have good snacks and better company, the tide will recede and the house will keep you safe and dry as she has for over 100 years.

The house is exactly as described. The kitchen was very well stocked and the ice machine worked! Even the bathroom shower was awesome! We rarely moved from the porch or the front yard. The weather was perfect, great breezes, and we had a wonderful view of the Blue Moon rising! The sunsets were also spectacular. We saw egrets and a baby terrapin turtle! Honestly, we rarely moved from the porch or the front yard. Communication with Carolyn was awesome. We were very lucky to have missed a major rainstorm because the area is prone to flooding. The house is close to Stone Harbor and Avalon beaches. We were able to see the fireworks from the porch on Friday night from Wildwood! Neighbors were friendly as well. The area is very peaceful, even on the weekend, and a great place to decompress and relax. Even our dog enjoyed the long walks by the nature preserve!
There are not enough words to describe this beautiful home and its location. If you want a home that makes you feel like you're at the shore in a location that is quiet & never lacks natural beauty, look no further. Cleanliness, seashore decor, amenities, and a front porch overlooking the bay were stellar. Sunrises, sunsets, natural wildlife, campfires, seashells, the beautiful beaches of Stone Harbor...the list could go on. Carolyn responds to questions/concerns in a professional manner & time frame. This is truly a hidden gem at the Jersey shore!
The property was beautiful, the accommodations the host made for comfort and consideration, went above and beyond… From the appointments in the kitchen, to the clean linens and sparkling bathrooms with necessities. Amazing retreat!
The house itself is fine, the problem is getting to and from the property. The access road, Bennys Landing Road, is in a major flood zone, FEMA 10/10 and depending on tides and weather, you may not be able to use the road. Is the location and view worth risking your mental and physical health? That is up to you to decide. Carolyn doesn’t mention any of this on the listing and withheld information even when asked specifically about flooding. Trying to get a partial refund since we went through a harrowing experience trying to return to house after going out to dinner. We had to drive 500 ft through 5-6 inches of moving water and decided to leave early the next day. No one in the group has been able to sleep since this happened. She hadn’t responded to the Vrbo inquiry.
Wonderful waterside cabin in unique neighborhood. Close to all but private. Comfy beds, pillows and blankets. Kitchen fully stocked including spices, foil, etc. Great smart TV and internet access. Kind neighbor. Fast contact with owner. Nice shower water pressure. Would highly recommend.
We stayed in the Bayfront Bungalow when a tropical storm Ophelia came through. The house was a cozy fun place to watch the marsh lands, marine life, and view the rising tides. The owner stayed in touch and checked on the house during the storm. The bird life after was a mating to watch and the marshlands are full of ribbed muscles, horseshoe crabs, and shrimp to explore with kids. The area is only 15 minutes from multiple beaches, boat rides, and amazing food. We loved our stay and despite the weather plan on coming back.
We used this unique, comfortable, quiet, and convenient rental as our home base for a Winter bird photography trip to Cape May County. The home on Benny's Landing is minutes away from Cape May Courthouse, Stone Harbor, and the Garden State Parkway. Yet, we felt isolated--surrounded by marshland and the expanse of the tidal back bay. It was a restful transformational break from our city life because it was easy to stay in every way.
The home is cozy and warm, with ample heat, lighting, hot water, and bedding for a Winter stay. The kitchen is well-equipped and user-friendly. Internet access is good for streaming TV, uploading (many) images, and working remotely.
Carolyn is a great host--responsive, helpful, and accommodating! We look forward to future stays!
Property beautiful, quiet and had everything that might be needed. Super clean. Was just what we were looking for - peace and quiet and beautiful views.
I've traveled the world but this was just the best. Beyond wonderful. The host was wonderful and kind, the house was perfect in every possible way and the location was beyond our wildest expectations. Sunrises and sunsets lit up the house. I grew up here but I couldn't stop taking pictures. I can't wait to go back again and again.
The water views were up close & personal! The Bay and the Marshes were interesting to see with the Egrets and the beautiful sunrise. Carolyn C is a very considerate host and our friends enjoyed happy hour with us on the comfortable front porch, looking out at the water!
The property was everything as described. The crabbing was a big hit with everyone. The deck was perfect for watching sunsets, relaxing and reading. The kids enjoyed the uniqueness and dock. Just minutes to downtown shopping district and beach. Restaurants nearby. Neighbors very friendly.
My husband and I decided we wanted to take one more long weekend this summer. I grew up coming to the Cape May area so we looked there and found this listing. It was the perfect house, so peaceful and quiet, with beautiful views, sunrises, and sunsets. The owners communicated with us throughout our trip to make sure we had everything we needed. Very thankful we found this place and will definitely be back!
Wonderful peaceful place. Excellent communication from The owner.
Nice clean place. All amenities you would require and excellent communication from the owner. Very easy check in and check out. Neighbors all very friendly.
Exactly what we needed. It was perfect for my family of 4 adults. All the peace and calm can be found on the front porch. Owner was wonderful and easy to communicate with.
We've been doing the VRBO thing for years, and Carolyn's place was a peak experience. The house itself was spotless, and incredibly well equipped. Everything was organized and easy to find, and absolutely everything we could have asked for was there. The kitchen was spotless, and had whatever we could have hoped for (so glad to find the coffee grinder).
The beds were comfy, firm but not hard, and we slept soundly. The living room was a relaxing refuge to rest up after a day's expedition. We sat and looked out over the water and watched the birds, and the sunsets were spectacular. We loved the location - out of the middle of things and peaceful, but close to everything.
Carolyn is a wonderful host - she was available and helpful whenever we contacted her, and gave us useful suggestions that went beyond our questions.
We're just trying to decide exactly when we'll go back - and we've never repeated before.
Thanks, Carolyn, for a wonderful stay!
Very pleased with the whole process. Carolyn was available every step of the way.
The house has an abundance of towels, sheets, blankets and cleaning items. The kitchen was fully packed with everything any cook would need.
Parking is easy and lighting in and around the house was great.
Carolyn was amazing with communication the entire time! And we couldn't have asked for a better location and house. My parents are ready to book a return trip!!
We loved the feel in this area, quiet, very laid back, older times, family generations. Grateful we could take our dog, felt safe for 8 yr old grandson to roam. Would like a place just like this area. Carolyn our host, was tremendous with all my questions and her place is lovely. We will be back!
We wanted a quiet place for spring break and this was perfect. The views were lovely and my husband and son had fun trying to catch fish from the dock - even if they didn’t get anything.
Hopefully we can return when it’s warmer and can truly enjoy everything the area has to offer.

About the host

Why they chose this property
There is no place like Benny's Landing at the Jersey shore. It provides the beat of both worlds as far as easy access to the beaches of Stone Harbor with out the crowds. You will not find a better Bayside home and view for the price "on island"
What makes this property unique
There is no need to leave the house with all the activities available right on the property- crabbing, fishing. kayaking, paddle boarding, corn hole, etc. But if you want to go to the Stone Harbor beaches they are a 5 minute drive, the boardwalk rides in Wildwood are 15 minutes away and the quaint shops of Cape May are just 20 minutes away!
