Loved this place. Amazing quiet location with so many water toys and activities. Had zero need to leave the whole weekend because there was so much to do there.
We are four adult sisters, 60+. The cabin was comfortable, had everything we needed for a good stay. It’s located right on the water and so convenient to all the sightseeing we wanted to do. I would highly recommend as our stay far exceeded our expectations.
Wonderful and peaceful stay. We brought a small boat and were able to put it on the side by hand carrying it . Lots of kayaks and standup paddle boards as well as plenty of floats . Bottom half of house stays cool as it is built in to the hill. able to keep cool with fans . Great time ! Plenty of life jackets . Washer and dryer on the small side but we managed . Could have used maybe a brownie pan :) Pots and pans and kitchen stuff was well equipped. Great stay !
We staying with our 2 daughters and absolutely loved the cabin and the lake. They kayaked, paddle boarded and swam. The cabin itself was perfect for our family. I hope we are able to visit again!
We loved staying here for our anniversary! Warm sunny days and gentle breezes off the lake most days. Everything is provided that you might need with some fabulous lobster and restaurants close by. Our boat tour to see the Atlantic puffins was such a treat. Laura was very accommodating and helpful. A ten out of ten!
My husband and I adore this place and plan to return. It was clean and had everything we needed (kitchen and bathroom necessities, etc.). The cabin is right on the water (it appears to be a renovated boat house), has a large fire pit, has several kayaks and paddle boards for use, and has a large deck with a grill. Also had a hammock and a porch swing. It's the perfect summer weekend getaway!
This is our second visit to the "Kayakers' Cabin" and just as wonderful! It's so nice to have the option of a few day's stay as opposed to a full week which is hard to do with work. Thank you for sharing your sweet spot on my favorite Maine lake!
The cottage was perfectly positioned for the amazing lake front view. Inside the cottage was cozy and had everything we needed to cook our meals. Having two bathrooms made everyone more comfortable. The host was very accomodating and responsive. We hope to come back in the summer to swim in the lake and sit around the firepit on the shoreline. Thank you for sharing this special place.
Perfect location and size for a couple/small family getaway by the lake. The seating area outside by the fire pit was relaxing - we loved the lake view and its wildlife. We even enjoyed lunches at the table on the deck! We visited during the fall, but
a spring and/or summer visit would be amazing too! The amenities inside of the home included everything you would need for your stay. I wanted to give this location the full 5 stars, but the indoor couch/chair and primary bed could use some sprucing up, in my opinion. But overall, I would recommend this home! Wonderful location and great property management.
I stayed with my boyfriend for two nights. I am already planning a return trip with my twelve year old daughter and another trip with my girlfriends.
Just a short drive to town, property with plenty of beds, outdoor chairs, and kayaks/paddleboards makes this a fantastic retreat for couples, families, or friends.
I didn’t want to leave, I was so relaxed.
We very much enjoyed our stay in early October - we loved that the house was right on the water. It was cozy and comfortable - a perfect getaway spot for two - or more if you had kids in tow. We’ll definitely think about coming back sometime in the summer to enjoy swimming next time…
We were in the area for a couple of nights to coincide with a birthday dinner reservation and this place was great, on the lake and in the woods, with lots of towels, a tv and even foosball downstairs. Great spaces inside and out, and close encounters with Osprey, a Barred Owl and Loon! Highly recommend.
We loved staying at this little cabin by the water and felt at home almost immediately. We’ve been coming to the Damariscotta and Pemaquid area for 15 years but never really got to know the lake. Absolutely delightful and we visited all out favorite places- truly a gem on the water. Swimming and kayaking included!!!
One of my adult children and I spent a few days midweek in the cabin . It was perfect! The fire was already laid in the fire pit , the cabin so welcoming and comfortable. We felt immediately at home. Laura was incredibly responsive and so helpful with recommendations as well . We stepped out of the cabin and onto the Water. My only regret was that I wasn’t able to book more time ! I hope to be back very soon
