About this property

Spectacular View of National Park!! Pool table, two full living rooms!!

The Silver Lining is a 2590sq.ft.. 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bath mountain home which offers fantastic view of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

The moment you enter you're greeted with a spacious open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and incredible 20ft stacked stone, wood burning fireplace for those cool nights. The living room is well furnished ensuring a comfortable stay. Walk over and step out on the deck, relax in the rockers and take in the views and the fresh mountain air.

The main floor master bedroom with a king bed has its own large private master bathroom with double vanity, walk in Shower, walk in closet, sitting room and a private deck overlooking the national park

The kitchen has everything you need including a microwave, range, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher and refrigerator with icemaker. The dining area seats 6 people. For grilling outside there is a charcoal weber grill.

Also on the main floor is a half bath and laundry closet with washer and dryer.

Downstairs offers another complete large living area which is also well furnished. Relax and watch your favorite program on the large screen TV or enjoy a game of pool. For your convenience there is a kitchenette with Microwave and Coffee Maker. The second bedroom with a king bed and a full bathroom is located off the downstairs living area. The downstairs bedroom also has it own private entry from the outside that is convenient for caring luggage in and out Plus you have you own patio doors to step out on the deck to see the views.

The bedroom upstairs is nicely decorated with two twin beds, large closet and its own bathroom.

The Silver Lining is conveniently located to Gatlinburg, Cosby, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood and the Great Smoky National Park.

This will certainly be your Silver Lining vacation rental.

Family Time Weekend

House was well suited for our stay, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils since we cooked all our food..The mountain views are exceptional. The location is a little ways from town, but manageable.

Spectacular Views Did NOT Disappoint

We stayed for Thanksgiving week and were amazed at the view! The views from the livingroom were breathtaking! We saw the most beautiful sunrises and the mountains showed off every day by having a colorful quilt of leaves on the bottom and icy frost on the tops! Needless to say, we took tons of photos right from our rocking chairs on the porches! We even saw a large bear running across the golf course! Our party included my daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters! We not only had our own bedrooms and bathrooms, we had our own floors! My daughter and son-in-law enjoyed having the downstairs to themselves and my granddaughters (ages 9 and 6) thought having the upstairs all to themselves was amazing! My husband and I loved having the main floor master suite, it was perfect! And he used the desk in the master suite sitting area every day! We all met on the main floor for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. We brought our own supplies, but there was a small starter supply of most things you needed. Having a washer and dryer meant we didn't have loads of laundry to do when we arrived home! The only draw back was the narrow winding road up the mountain, but that is the price you pay for the spectacular views. :-)

Family getaway

The house was beautiful and spacious with amazing mountain views from the porch! It was such a peaceful escape away from the hustle and bustle of town. Our kids loved the pool table and the two times we ventured to the pool we had it to ourselves. And on our last morning there we were visited by a momma bear & her cub right in the backyard!

Great Vacation Getaway

The Silver Lining is a great place for a family vacation. The furniture and beds are comfortable, the kitchen is updated and has everything you need, and there is plenty of space for everyone. The deck has a gorgeous view of the mountains, too!

Wonderful View and Comfort

The home was just as described and the view met all our expectations, maybe even exceeded. Check-in was easy, home was spotless and plenty of towels which is important with kids. Most of all we were close enough to fun things, but far enough from the all the hustle of the busy towns. Plus we got to see a cub scurry across the road!

Nice cabin but lacks cleanliness

Great location! Nice cabin but not the cleanest cabin. The floors were not swept, dusty furniture and quite a few cobwebs. Mattress was very comfortable and linens were nice. Towels were a good quality as well. Great appliances! Not as well stocked as many other places we've stayed.

Family Vacation

Perfect house for family time

Amazing vacation home!

We had such a wonderful vacation. The Silver Lining feels a like home away from home. It is so well thought out in the layout, well furnished, beautiful local art all around you, and a kitchen with all the things you need plus more. And the veiws are incredible! We all decided it was the best vacation rental we have stayed in yet!!

Pleasant stay,.. house was well equipped,… we have only one recommendation and that is that the main entrance door needs the door strike latch adjusted,… the door has approx. 1/4” gap when shut allowing the cold air to enter during the winter blast we experienced during our stay the first few days.

Cozy home nestled in the Smokies

We loved our stay! It was away from all the crowds of Gatlinburg yet close enough to enjoy restaurants in town. The neighborhood was so charming. The houses including this one are beyond cozy. The house was extremely clean and had everything you could possibly want. The decoration was beautiful. What I loved the most was the wood burning fireplace! Lots of wood supplied by owners and it was the best burning wood we have had - perfectly seasoned. Great for kids as well. The upstairs kids room was really nice with twin beds and had its own bathroom. Would highly recommend staying at this wonderful retreat of a home!

Staying on this property was absolutely amazing. The place was clean. The host was very good at communicating. It had the perfect set up for 6 adults. It was local enough to be close to attractions but far enough to not be busy. The view is amazing. I’ll definitely be back!

Smoky Mountain Vacation

We really enjoyed the cabin where we stayed. Our favorite part was sitting on the balcony and drinking coffee. We saw 4 bears the first morning. It was close enough to town and the smoky mountain national forest which was the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen. Will be back.

Fantastic Stay!

Our family of 5 loved every moment in this beautiful home. The view was spectacular, the beds were comfortable, and we loved hanging out in the kitchen, at the pool table, and on the porches to enjoy the view and play board games. After many years of visiting Gatlinburg and renting many different homes, we all agreed we’ve found the one to come back to again and again - we’ll definitely be back!

Ron and Linda Pennington from Irving, TX: Ron and I have been coming to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park for over 25 years. we fell in love with the area the first time we came and knew that someday we would love to build or buy a home in the area. About 20 years ago we found the community of Cobby Nob. The Bent Creek Golf Club and the views of the Smoky Mountains convinced us that this was where we wanted to own a home. Eight year ago we bought a log cabin and we named it Dream Come True.
In February of 2020 we found our Silver Lining in the community of Cobbly Nob. We saw a home that needed some attention (to say the least) and we fell in love with the views. Linda appropriately named it "The Silver Lining"

A Silver Lining: is a metaphor in the common English-language which means a negative occurrence may have a positive aspect to it.

We want to share our Silver Lining with you and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed getting it ready for you. We hope you will go out and explore all that the Smoky Mountains have to offer; from all the water falls and hiking trails, to the beautiful drives and picnic areas. Take your time and enjoy it as we have been for the last 30 years. Our home away from home!
