About this property

Waterfront Apartment with Fantastic Views

We call this recently renovated luxury apartment Hale Kai, which is Hawaiian for 'Sea House.' It is fully furnished and has spectacular views of Rock Creek, which joins the Patapsco River and the Chesapeake Bay.

Relax out on your own large deck and watch the boating activity and wildlife in a very quiet and peaceful setting. Come by land or by sea -- we have boat slips available at our dock.

Enjoy spectacular sunrise views and go swimming off the end of our dock. You can also bring your kayak or canoe and explore the many unique coves and enjoy the unforgettable sights of Rock Creek. We have one canoe for our guests to use.

This is a second floor apartment that has its own entrance. We live in the main house directly below. The location is ideal - close to historic Annapolis and Baltimore, BWI and about an hour to Washington, DC (if you avoid rush hours). It is ideal for a family getaway, an anniversary, a sight seeing base of operations, or business related activities.

The apartment is not a B&B, it is a 'B' (we may add the other B later).

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and a grill on your deck.

There are a few restaurants within walking distance and many more restaurants and supermarkets close by. Some restaurants offer home delivery (menus provided).

Pleasant stay at the Hale Kai
We spent a lovely few days at the Hale Kai. A spacious two bedroom property with a lovely waterfront view. Sally is a gracious and thoughtful host whose special touches included fresh flowers in every room and a dish of chocolates. I will reserve again on future trips to Pasadena.

Maryland Yacht Club across Rock Creek
Every morning coffee on the second level deck watching wildlife and the amazing view on Rock Creek. We came to Maryland to celebrate our son Philip’s birthday. I grew up on Rock Creek on a houseboat back in the 50’s at the MYC and staying here brought back so many memories. And Sally & Larry took us over to see the yacht club on Wednesday because they are members. Thank you so much. We enjoyed our 7 days there plus our favorite restaurants were close by.

Close to Baltimore, short drive to Annapolis and DC. We visited Baltimore area for a lacrosse game but did not want a hotel. This was the perfect respite. Very clean! Don’t expect fancy. Do expect quiet solitude with a beautiful view. The owners are very accommodating. They are on site but we did not even run into each other. We asked if we could swim off the dock. They were so accommodating! Even brining out a swim ladder and safety bouy for us. They even allow guests to use their canoe.

A beautiful Oasis
We spent a week at Sally and Larry's place and had a great time. The views of the water from the windows and deck are fantastic. We had a lot of fun visiting with our daughters at the table by the water and playing games in the evening. My husband and daughter also enjoyed going out in the canoe. The place is so well furnished and Sally and Larry make you feel very comfortable. We loved the special touches like the books, chocolates, and fresh-cut flowers. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful and Peaceful
We were in the area to visit our son who is a professional baseball player. The apartment is very comfortable, and the deck is large and peaceful with beautiful views. Within 30 minutes there are many things to do and locally there are a couple of good places to eat. We had meals in different places daily and we were not disappointed Sally and Larry are welcoming owners and very attentive.

OUTSTANDING!
My wife and I surely couldn't be called seasoned VRBO veterans but we're also not novices. We've stayed in about ten or so over the last few years. All were either in the northeast or Hawaii. There aren't enough good things to say about this place. It's got a great view, was well appointed and well stocked. Communication with the property manager was exceptional. The place is convenient to Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington, DC.

Incredible sunrises
Starting the day looking at the beautiful sunrise over the water was a wonderful treat. The unit itself was perfect for four adults (my husband and myself and our adult kids). Great kitchen to cook in, cozy living room. Lots of games and puzzles to use. We could walk to coffee and a few food spots. Convenient to the highway for travel elsewhere.

Christmas away from home
This was the perfect place for our family to celebrate Christmas near our son. The apartment was well stocked with supplies as well as puzzles and games. We enjoyed a lot of quality family time together and visited the area attractions including the aquarium. The view of the water was very beautiful. Sally was a great hostess.

Sally and Larry are very nice owners they meet us as soon as we pulled up to the house. The apartment had everything we were looking for great views of the water. Very beautiful, clean. The apartment had a lot of extra amenities. Very relaxing, quiet. All the pictures you see are very accurate. Can't wait to go back again.

Apartment was a great place to land after busy days!
We were greeted by Sally upon arrival with a tour of the apartment and if we so desired, shared with us where and how we could enjoy the waterfront. The apartment was well stocked with the ability to cook full meals. We were also delighted by the fresh flowers. Sally gave us ideas for the forecasted rainy day and suggested some good restaurants. I never felt like I couldn't reach out. I enjoyed the sunrises immensely! A serene location!

Beautiful Waterfront View
Sally & Larry were wonderful hosts. They greeted us with hospitality. The apartment / upper flat was very clean & spacious. We truly appreciated the supplied coffee & a few other items. The waterfront view was beautiful. The outdoor steps and the dock were lighted in the evening. The couches in the living room were extremely comfortable. Check out was super easy.... Highly recommended. Great location ~ close to grocery store, gas & dining!
