Thanks for the books Dr. Jay, because my sister that I was there to visit is in the beginning stages of dementia. The only problem I had with your property was parking!!!!
There is no doubt that Dr. Jay is a super host. The place is located close to Richmond BART. I moved to the US for the first time. I was looking for a short stay before finding a long-term place to live. Dr. Jay's cottage is a friendly welcoming place, that offered me like feel comfortable at home.
Was expecting something cheap due to the price, I was not expecting a horrible rotten smell from the shower or so many bugs (dead and alive). Extremely unclean. The suite also does not have water that is potable from the tap and must be drunk from a pre-filtered jug, something not included in the ad.
The argument that he gave after I said I left was ridiculous, saying he had no clue what I’m taking about and yet told wished i had told him before I left. I don’t know what he expected to do on an immediate basis something is bad in the plumbing-that’s a systemic issue.
Aside from the health and safety, the host had a bunch of personal promotion in the suite and personal email (for contract signing) that was just off-putting. I booked for 7 nights but only stayed one before just going to a hotel for the same price.

About the host
Hosted by Dr. Jay
An avid international traveler, natural medicine doctor, and real estate agent, Dr. Jay is around in the front house but keeping a healthy distance and giving you your personal space. You are nestled in the cottage separated from main house.
Why they chose this property
You have your own space that is close to the Richmond BART station so you have access to the whole San Francisco Bay Area even by public transportation. Convenient to both Oakland (OAK) and San Francisco (SFO) airports, and it is a fairly short drive away from Marin County and the Redwood Forests, Pacific Beaches, and Golden Gate Bridge. If you are a sailor there are rental facilities nearby to enjoy sailing the SF Bay. Convenient by BART to downtown Berkeley, Oakland, another San Francisco.
What makes this property unique
This is a stand-alone cottage that gives you privacy and space to spread out. If you have some quarantine requirements it fits that need perfectly as well. Many a guest during the pandemic found it to be the perfect place to stay when family and friends required them to isolate.
